Fresheria in La Mesa is a cute little spot but definitely on the smaller side so seating can be limited when it gets busy. The vibe is chill overall, but the service was just okay. Nothing rude, just not very attentive. I ordered the green chilaquiles and they were decent but definitely on the spicy side so just a heads up if you're sensitive to heat. I added eggs and steak. The eggs came scrambled and were a bit dry and the steak didn't have much flavor which was kind of a letdown. We also tried the oatmeal pancakes. They were okay but leaned more dry than fluffy. They didn't come with syrup and no one offered any. I tried asking for some but the server walked away mid conversation which honestly threw me off. The watermelon smoothie tasted pretty much like blended watermelon with sugar and water. It wasn't bad but nothing I'd go out of my way for. I've been to the National City location before and that one is still my favorite by far. This La Mesa spot just didn't hit the same in terms of food or overall experience. One thing that stood out was the sauce situation. When I asked for sauces I was told I could only have one. I'm big on restaurants being stingy with hot sauce. It just feels unnecessary and kind of takes away from the experience. Overall it wasn't a bad visit but it didn't wow me either. read more

Rating is for the food not the service.. People working there are very friendly and accomodating. My wife and I were hoping the hype was real about this spot so we stopped in a couple days ago.. She had breakfast food which was so so and I had a chicken bowl that was very dry and somewhat flavorless, very salty as well.. Like I said nice people but food wise we won't back which was a bummer. read more

Saul provided us 5-star service and attention along with great food and healthy juices and smoothies. I had the Loma torta and my wife got the chicken torta, both were delicious with a capital 'D'! Get the salsa to level up the flavor. I ordered the Detox drink and my wife got the evergreen drink, both were made to order and fresh. The bread is fresh, soft and delivery by a local bakery. Their menu is deep with a lot of fresh juices, smoothies all made from scratch. You have a lot of choices in the area but the Mexican food here is authentic and made to order. They even have an app to pick up your order. If you need your coffee fix they open at 7 am. They have regular and arriving soon decaf Coffee. They have seats inside if you want to pull out your laptop. It is nice to see a New Mexican shop open here with authentic food and great service!! Fresheria had recently opened in La Mesa. They offer very good healthy eats, smoothies, salads, and espresso based beverages, and teas. I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the whole wheat breakfast bagel. I was so happy they offered a whole wheat bagel. It's so hard to find these days. The breakfast bagel came with scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, and tomato on the well toasted bagel. I also had an Americano with the meal. The quality of the bagel was very good, and the eggs were well scrambled and lightly seasoned. A little more salt and black pepper would have been good however. It was a very good breakfast bagel. The young lady who made my Americano was a newbie to making espresso and she did quite well. The coffee was very smooth and very flavorful. I had it black with a touch of cinnamon. Well done! The service was very good. They offer inside seating and there will be some outside seating in the near future. Great addition to the community of La Mesa. read more

We need more restaurants like these in La Mesa. I love that it is walking distance from my place and the food is quick and yummy. I got a horchalatte and a ham omelette. The omelette has this extra cheese/ salsa mixture that makes it extra delicious, so while I grabbed some hot sauce out of habit it had so much flavor that I ate it on its own. The portions are very filling but don't make you feel heavy. The space is more conducive for takeout but they have a few seating areas on the inside and a couple tables outside where I could sit with my dog. read more

I had the cauliflower ceviche and a strawberry agua fresca. The ceviche was bright and flavorful, crunchy and limey. The agua fresca was just right, not at all a sugar bomb. I personally do not like a very sweet agua. Will definitely be back to try the lentil soup. read more

Friendly service and great options for fresh healthy food. Pretty quick for our Togo order and they also had a smoothie and wrap special the night we came in. Acai bowl was good but market price ($13ish). The wraps we got were large and delicious. They have tables and seats inside and outside. Fresheria is the absolute most needed new business in this part of La Mesa. For about nine years, I have had an office nearby. So many time, I had found myself looking for something healthy, especially a juice or a smoothie. I tried several nearby businesses but none had fresh fruit smoothies.t So far, I have been to Fresheria twice, for two different smoothies: The Green Power and Blueberry Kale. Both were delicious and I feel were made with the best ingredients. The owner had been there each time taking to me about the products. Anyway, as someone who has worked nearby for many years, I seriously cannot say how happy I am that Fresheria has opened. I really needed somewhere to help power me through my workday. So many time I had been leaving work, skipping lunch, and needing to run errands, hoping I could find the perfect smoothie. Anyway, now I have found the perfect smoothie to energize me through the errands. I also look forward to trying their other healthy options such as ceviche, juices, and aciai bowels. I'm excited to have this new place walking distance from where I now reside. There are so many great healthy options on the menu. My first visit I had the spinach wrap with avocado, ham, cheese and egg plus a cold brew. The wrap was tasty and the cold brew was strong! The second visit, I ordered on their website for pick up, and when I got there, everything was ready. I ordered the breakfast soychoripapas burrito, plus the High C juice. The wrap was delicious, still piping hot when I got home, not too greasy, and the juice tasted fresh. I prefer my juice colder and served on ice, but you get a lot more fresh-squeezed juice without ice so I think they are doing customers a favor to maximize what you get. It was a bit more tart with the grapefruit flavor being the strongest, but overall, I liked the taste. Both times, the service was quick, and I was greeted with a warm welcome. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more out on the menu! If you are looking for a place that has healthy and freshly made food, this is a great spot. read more

Pulled over to Fresheria La Mesa in search of a healthy, light meal as it looked to fit my needs perfectly. They sport a great selection of tortas, sandwiches, wraps, juices, and I was surprised they even offered vegetable soup as well as some yummy looking Mexican snacks (definitely saving room for tostilocos for next time). Cashier was super friendly and helpful, offering to answer any questions. I ordered a Cesar salad wrap, vegetable soup, and an unsweetened latte. Holy cow was I in for a surprise. -The soup: just like my grandma makes, seriously. So delicious, aromatic, and hit the spot. -The Cesar salad wrap: great ratios, just the right amount of crunch, perfectly light but filling. -The latte: surprisingly good, never would have imagined such a delicious latte from what looks to be a juice bar. They had a variety of different flavors that I want to try next time--like Mexican hot chocolate--but I ordered it unsweetened because I wanted to really taste the espresso, and boy am I glad I did. Absolutely delicious. Place was clean, service was friendly and fast, and I even got a free sample of their (amazing) fresas con crema. I only wish I had more room in my stomach to fit it! read more

Amazing, fresh, delicious. Every time I eat here, I leave feeling GOOD. Like, you know some places you eat a meal and when you're done, all you want to do is go home and fall asleep. Not the case here! Their food is healthy and you can feel it. Sal and his family are wonderful to everyone who comes in and are more than happy to make any dietary substitutions you might need. My wife & I were hoping for a great experience for our 1st time visit today at Fresheria. We ordered 2 salads with grilled chicken. Paid $45 (tip included) and here's the outcome, 1) Salad items were fresh however a bit lite in volume. 2) The 'chicken' was old, hard, chewy & extremely dry. I truly believe that it was old from a previous day. We could not & did not finish the chicken. I know it was old because we arrived within 45m of their opening today. There aren't many 'healthy' type restaurants in La Mesa - so the search for one continues. read more

Went to try this new place out, was not dissapointed! Ordered the torta de lomo and the chilaquiles. Big portions and both were super good. Also tried their Mexican Mocha and that was a hit. This place has delicious drinks and food! I'm so glad a new option arrived offering fresh and healthy food that doesn't sacrifice on flavor. I ordered the green power smoothie which tasted pleasantly of green apples and pineapple. It was fresh and thick and didn't skimp on ingredients. I also got the Lomo Torta which was so tasty! Tender, seasoned, sliced pork topped with crisp lettuce and tomato avocado and pickled jalapeños. The best torta I've had in a long time! I also got the cup of corn which also was very delicious. I also tasted the veggie wrap which my mom ordered and it also was super tasty! Love the queso fresco this place uses in their food. I also appreciate the spice level of their stuff. Tried this place out the other day and was pleasantly surprised. All of the food was actually being prepared FRESH to order; imagine that. Had the veggie sandwich and wrap. Good portions and although they rang in around $13 apiece it nice to know it's all fresh ingredients. I'll be back to try some of the breakfast options, soups and smoothies! read more

I understand there wasn't much to choose from, but we still felt rushed to place our order. We ordered the chicken pesto pizza, and when it came out, we didn't even have plates on the table. I'm not sure why our waitress didn't make sure we had plates before our food arrived, but I ended up having to flag down another staff member just to get some. Shortly after that, our waitress came over and told us someone else would be taking care of us. By that point, I was over the whole experience. I asked for a to-go box, packed up our pizza, paid, and left. The pizza itself wasn't anything memorable, and combined with the rushed and inattentive service, this visit was a disappointment.

What I will also say is that I was visited with no less than 3 people including Gabriela herself who was absolutely apologetic about my experience and assured me it wouldn't happen again. What's also nice is that I wasn't charged for the food I ate which believe it or not has happened to me before MANY years ago. My peeps whom I was with absolutely loved their food. One had the Sopes and the other had the huevos rancheros. So while I have to be honest about my review, I really think this was a one off mistake and at the very least I would highly suggest ordering cafecito and pastries from Casa Gabriela!

I stopped by Fresheria in La Mesa and was really impressed with this new local community spot! I ordered a torta de lomo, an açaí bowl, a corn cup, and a strawberry banana smoothie--and everything lived up to the name Fresh. The torta was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced, the açaí bowl was bright and refreshing, and the smoothie tasted like it was made with the freshest fruit. Even the corn cup had that perfect mix of creamy and savory. Will definitely try the breakfast and coffee menu real soon! The meat appeared to be flap-meat and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. My breakfast was amazing. The meat was cooked to perfection! Tender, juicy, and very flavorful. The eggs were cooked to perfection as was everything else on the plate. I went with flour tortillas and they were steaming hot. Zero complaints and I ate every single item of my breakfast, cleaning the plate with my last piece of tortilla. My wife told me that she too enjoyed her breakfast very much, but after looking at mine wished she had went with one of the Guatemalan dishes. I am so happy we tried this place out! Spring valley is about 20 minutes from where we live, but Chiroys is worth the trip. This place is a hidden gem in this small older strip mall.
