Super cute coffee shop with tons of signature and seasonal drinks. Their menu is always changing, and they have really high quality coffees and matcha with fun flavors. Their veggie croissant sandwich is delicious too. Service is good! There can be a line out the door depending on the time that you go, but they are efficient. Love this little coffee shop
Lovesong has quickly become one of North Park's most popular coffee shops and I understood the hype. The space is beautiful. One thing I really liked was the seating. Instead of rows of tables, the shop has tiered seating in the back that almost feels like a little amphitheater. It gives everyone their own space whether you're studying, catching up with a friend, or just enjoying your drink. There are also outdoor seats if you want to enjoy the North Park weather. Their menu has something for everyone. They offer a seasonal menu, a lineup of specialty coffee drinks, a whole matcha menu, sparkling coffee drinks, classic espresso drinks, teas, breakfast sandwiches, and fresh pastries. I ordered their summer seasonal drink, Mr. Sunshine. It comes with house banana, brown sugar, macerated macadamia, organic matcha, and milk. I was a little nervous because that's a lot of flavors in one drink. I thought one ingredient would overpower everything else. Surprisingly, every flavor had its own moment. I also noticed they had a seasonal fresh guava cream top while I was there. I didn't get to try it this visit, but it's already on my list for next time because it sounds incredible. The service was quick and friendly. We were able to grab a seat inside without waiting, which was nice because this seems like the kind of place that fills up fast. Now, this wasn't the best matcha I've ever had, but it was definitely one of the more creative ones. I really appreciate when a coffee shop takes risks with flavors while still letting each ingredient shine. Between the beautiful space, thoughtful menu, and welcoming atmosphere, I can easily see myself coming back. Whether you're looking for a place to study, catch up with friends, or just take a few pictures, Lovesong is definitely worth checking out.
If you have a sweet tooth more than you have tastebuds for matcha or coffee, this shop is probably for you. Upon trying my drink and what two others ordered, it seems their beverages heavily rely on other flavors, such as lavender or honey, as well as fancy garnishes and spices, such as mint, rosemary, and pink salt. When you take away all of the fancy stuff and get 25% sweet like I did, my seasonal matcha (Mr. sunshine - basically banana matcha), had little to no matcha flavor. The lavender matcha my friend ordered had a nice floral lavender taste with mild matcha flavor. The breakfast sausage croissant was not bad. Texture of the croissant was lightly fluffy with a crispy exterior. Aesthetics are on point. It's a cute shop and they present their drinks beautifully. Service was quite fast, given the line. They are also dog friendly.
Such a cute spot and the matcha was delicious! I got the one with notes of mango and it did not disappoint. The lady at the register was so sweet and the service was fast!

Ended up going with the Bodhi Boy, which is matcha with lavender and vanilla, and subbed oat milk. I loved it! The lavender wasn't too overwhelming and the vanilla helped cut some of the floral taste. My friend got the Twisted Sister which had rosemary and fig and it was super unique. Another friend got the seasonal hojicha and it was very sweet. Would recommend getting light sweetener if you get that one. Loved the little flower decor on each of the drinks! Great spot for a cute coffee date with friends.
I really like how open this place is and how much seating they have both inside and outside. As it was my first time here, it took me a bit of time to figure out what I wanted and the baristas weren't very patient with me trying to read the menu and figure it out. I'm not sure what the issue was since there was literally no one else in line behind me. I ended up going with one of their seasonal drinks, the Rizzler, which is a strawberry and dark chocolate coffee drink. My first did not taste like the ingredients at all. I wouldn't have known there was strawberries in the drink if I hadn't seen the menu. It was a very muddled tasting drink where you couldn't really pick out any of the flavors, but they also didn't blend seamlessly together. It was weird. I usually take 2-3 days to finish a cup of coffee, but this was not tasty the 2nd day and I ended up just dumping whatever I had left. 2.5 stars
Cute coffee shop in north park. Have a cool stadium style seating section in the back corner along with indoor and outdoor table seating and bar top seating. Loved The Bees Knees coffee I got - perfectly balanced and delicious flavors. Parking is going to be street parking which can be tough depending on when you go but it's worth a stop in no matter what. They also have a little shop section with snacks and alternative drink options.
Sometimes a review doesn't require a lengthy pontification of how fabulous a place is. It speaks volumes when there is a continuous line, happy faces and repeat customers. This coffee shop presents with natural light, airy, spacious with tons of plants, protein bars, snacks, books, chachkies, and refrigerated items. The MATCHA is hands down one of the best I have tasted in any state. 5 stars across the board.
I went to Verbatim books & then I felt like some caffeine. I spotted this large, airy & bright coffee shop and went in to grab something unique. They don't have a menu board but they do have a QR code menu & there was one laminated menu at the counter which was tiny. I browsed the offerings on my phone & I ordered The Bees Kneez - honey, vanilla, cinnamon, smoked salt, espresso + milk. These are flavors that I often gravitate toward so I figured it'd be a win. Service was fine. A few minutes later, my iced drink was ready & I sipped it. Very mild flavors with cinnamon being the most prevalent and the coffee taste was extremely light. So this drink was unoffensive, but also underwhelming. For $7.50, I'd like it to be a bit more nuanced! There's nothing about this place besides the initial cute aesthetics that would make me go out of my way to come here again. On the plus side, they sell stellar snacks here & I love them! So, the verdict on Lovesong is if you like multi-layered & flavorful coffee drinks at all, don't order what I did. They have lots of indoor and some outdoor seating which makes working here or hanging out pleasant. Peace.
The coffee shop was spacious, but there weren't a lot of seating, so prepare to just pick up and go. The drinks were okay; I didn't find anything too different from other coffee places I've been to for the price I've paid. The barista was nice, but I felt like she was overworked and stressed out when I talked to her. Overall, give it a try, but it's def a 1 time thing for me!

The staff was very friendly and pointed me in the right direction with their recommendations. We had our baby with us in a stroller and it was nice that this cafe was fairly stroller-friendly. We found a spot to sit and chill in their cool stadium-style seating area. Would return!
This was my second visit to Love Song. The employees are super helpful and chill, and the environment is cozy. I think it's relaxing to stay and chill for a moment while sipping coffee. Their coffee flavors are more adventurous than other coffee shops, which definitely makes it stand out! I got the Old West, and my girlfriend got the Islander. Both were tasty! A bit on the milky side, but I personally like a stronger espresso taste in my lattes. I think Love Song is middle of the road. The coffee is good, but nothing to write home about. I would say it's worth checking out if you're in the area. Be warned! Parking is rough. Most of it is street parking.
My friend and I stopped by Lovesong Coffee for a much-needed caffeine boost before heading out to explore Balboa Park, and I'm so glad we found this place! The shop has such a nice little vibe inside, and the baristas were friendly and welcoming. Their latte flavors are definitely bold and interesting, with combinations you don't see at your typical coffee shop. My friend and I each tried one of their specialty lattes and really enjoyed them. It was the perfect stop before a day of exploring San Diego. If I'd had more time in the city, I could definitely see myself coming back, grabbing a latte, and hanging out here for a while. read more

In the heart of North Park. A lovely aesthetically pleasing high quality coffee shop. If I was closer I would frequent this place on my mama. Anyway my friend Ebony is finally back on the West Coast!! So we got coffee and matcha and celebrated. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking is better on the weekdays. We throughly enjoyed our drinks period! Ebony got the Golden Girl latte (brown sugar, molasses, good honey, pink salt, golden grahams, espresso + milk). Her go-to is the Bees Kneez (honey, vanilla, cinnamon, smoked salt, espresso + milk). I got the WildChild (lavender, mint, rosemary, thyme, organic matcha + milk) and it was wild like out of this world wild. So fresh and there were subtle hints of mint and rosemary. Ebony ordered with almond milk and I ordered with oat milk. Winning all around. Next time I would like to try Bodhi Boy (lavender, vanilla, organic matcha + milk) for more of a lavendar vibe. I also throughly enjoyed the minty matcha: Evergreen Parke (fresh mint, vanilla, organic matcha + milk). The baristas are flawless, friendly, and full of recommendations. Great service. Met a friend here on a Monday afternoon. Was definitely busy. They have indoor or outdoor seating and are dog friendly. I ordered the beez kneez latte hot. It was delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness and foam I also got the croissant sandwich. It was ok. Not a whole lot of flavor. Staff were super sweet. The also have a little grocery area of unusual food items and gift type stuff. Vibe is typical North Park and so is the parking. read more
Lovesong is truly a gem!! I love this cafe, their matcha has to be some of the best matcha I've had. I ordered the double down bee and it was phenomenal. I go to Lovesong occasionally when I get the time to drive to North Park. I live 25ish minutes away here but I still drive here just to get coffee! Inside has a good amount of indoor seating to do work on your laptop or just to hang out. There is a pretty good amount of outdoor seating too. The service is great and if you need any changes or additions to your drinks, the staff is happy to help with it. Parking is kind of bad but that is honestly everywhere in North Park. I recommend going here! What I usually order: I frequently order this iced coffee called the Flower Child. I like coconut so I like to order it and add the salted coconut cream top. If you don't, you can leave it plain or add other cream tops. The breakfast sandwiches are also so good. This past visit, I ordered a different drink to try things up and it was also so good! I ordered The Jack Johnson (and added salted coconut cream top). NOTE: Okay so one time I found a hair in the coffee and asked them to remake it and they remade it. Also, sometimes my breakfast sando isn't warmed through all the way and I hope that is something that they fix. The sandwiches seem to be cold before they heat it in their toaster oven and sometimes the center is cold. I don't really know how to ask them to fix that, since by the time I get there, I had already bit into it and I am not sure if they can reheat it after that. Maybe they should toast it slightly longer. No shade! Love this place and I keep coming back. read more
Lovesong is a neat coffee shop churning unique coffee and matcha concoctions while staying cute and classy in North Park. It's located just around the corner from Pigment and has big long on the windowsill, inside like stadium seats, at the bar, and tables outside. Their drinks are unique with molasses, rosemary, pink Himalayan sea salt, brown sugar, and much more. They're not overly sweet and smooth going down. The ambiance is chill, the service good, and the little shop indoors has gifts and snacks for purchase. read more

It's always so refreshing to come here. I love the cascading plants, airy environment, and open concept seats with the coffee bar in the middle. Ambiance is definitely 10/10. I had the bees knees hot which was the right amount of sweet - 10/10. My bf and his brother both had the islander with coconut cold foam over ice - also amazing 8/10. Next time, I'll have to come back for one of their pastries. read more
I have always seen this cafe but it's always so dern busy. Well, I was finally in the area early enough that we were the first ones in! We ordered a iced Pool Party which is a mango matcha and a iced Old West which is a sarsaparilla latte. Both drinks were really good, they both had a garnish which is pretty cool. The space is pretty big, lots of seating. I can see why it's so popular. read more

Love Song in San Diego is super cute. The space is open, bright, and just really nice to hang out in for a bit. I got the Evergreen Parke and my friend got the Bodhi Boy. The matcha was alright, a little sweeter than I like and the matcha flavor itself was kinda weak. I'd probably come back more for the vibe than the drinks, but still a solid spot to chill. read more
Great coffee and the chocolate croissant was light and flaky. Could use more chocolate filling in my opinion. The ambience is Instagram worthy as many patrons there were snapping away. The best part is that the shop opens early (6:30am) unlike most coffee establishments that open at 8a or later. read more
I am pleased to have found the Rizzler here at Lovesong coffee!!! I'm not a big big fan of coffee normally due to being jittery but I will drink coffee that has a hint of strawberry and chocolate in it. I love it so much! This is my petition to keep the Rizzler on the menu forever please!!!!! (I was told it's seasonal) I honestly would rather come here than the coffee down the street that doesn't always have friendly baristas upon entering store. I like smiles, ok? I've came here about 3x already for the Rizzler in the past two weeks and every experience I have had with the baristas has been great. I'm always looking for a new Coffee Spot to check out each week and this week's was LoveSong in North park. I got the Jack Johnson iced latte and it was pretty good. I'll order anything with banana in it. To me the service was regular. Nothing bad by any means but it did not stand out either. It is street parking only and it's North Park so that's always going to be difficult. We had to park several blocks away. We did have to take our coffee to go as there was no decent seating. There's outside seating and those were all taken and then there was some seats on the ledge with cushions but it was about 85° in the blazing sun so we were not going to sit there. And then they had seats inside in the corner but it's almost like bleacher seating so where you're sitting someone's feet are right there and they are above you and behind you. My friend and I were like absolutely not we are not sitting there. It's sound like a very odd seating setup. And I asked one of my friends about it and she also agreed. So very disappointing that we had to get our coffee to go. read more
This place has some really good specialty drinks. "The Gentleman" was one of the best lattes I've ever had. I highly recommend it hot. Flavor wise it was amazing. I did not get much of the smoked salt but even without that, it was amazing. I also got "The Jack Johnson" iced for tomorrow and tried a small sip and the flavor on that is much sweeter but very tasty. The latte service was fast and the latte came out at the perfect temperature. The person at the front of house was not super helpful. I asked their opinion on the two drinks and whether they preferred one hot versus cold and they answered with, "They are both good and both good hot or cold." Cool, thanks for the help. The inside and outside seating area is really nice and spacious. I was in a hurry so I didn't get to stay and hang out but I hope I get to relax in the shop next time and enjoy my latte. read more

After two visits, I can confirm that the vibe here is unbeatable. I love the open format where there are seats on the "windowsill" and people are actually studying at the bar where the kind baristas are doing their thang! I've been looking for a similar café in the Bay Area because I love the vibe here so much. I did come here to try their Matcha, since their menu has such unique combinations of flavors. I have tried four of their Matcha lattes and have yet to try a coffee, which I actually think I would enjoy more here. While their drinks are good in the sense that I enjoyed sipping on them, you wouldn't exactly come here for a drink that tastes really like Matcha. You come here to taste the combo of caramelized fig, rosemary, and smoked salt in their "Twisted Sister" or pineapple and coconut in "Maui Babe." What I'm trying to say is, I appreciate the creativity put into each drink, but I wouldn't come here if I just wanted a strong matcha latte. read more

Discovered this place thanks to Yelp. I will say that what usually piques my interest and gets me to try a certain coffee shop are the drink options and the aesthetic. LOVESONG COFFEE definitely has both. I knew we HAD to stop here when we came down to SD. This place is clearly very popular with a line out the door but it moved pretty quickly. Staff were very nice and helpful. With so many drink options, it was nice to get some recommendations. I love both coffee and matcha so it made it a little harder for me to decide. But I love how unique their menu is. I ordered the WildChild because I was so curious about the flavors and it all worked together. I loved it! My husband got The Jack Johnson and that was really good too. This will definitely be one of our must-visits whenever we visit San Diego from now on. read more
LOVESONG COFFEE @ NORTH PARK Parking is available for street parking, very easy and free! This spot is located in North Park and is such an adorable spot. The ambiance is bright, welcoming, and so beautiful. I love the decor and the white. The matcha itself is on the pricier side, but I definitely wanted to try it. I decided to get their Wild Child (lavender, mint, rosemary), and it was VERY faint on the matcha, like very heavy on milk, but I still did enjoy it, as it was more of a subtle taste and not too strong. So if you're someone trying to get into Matcha, it's a very light flavor here. The service was great, the person taking the order was kind, and the drink came out quickly. My only thing was how little seating of tables they have inside, it was fairly packed so to snatch a spot, you'd definitely need to come early. There is also no A.C, just fans, so there were many flies in the cafe and outside, which is what lost the star for me because it was flying around my drink. Overall, I'd come back to try another type of matcha! read more
Love the coffee selections!! Very cool and new exciting flavors, but.... Please don't hate me.... Very trendy, hipster spot. I overheard conversations that I only see on indie hipster television. I didn't even know people really talked like that outside of television. The seating is a little Wierd. They have a back wall wear people can sit, but it's not like a real chair. They look and feel like steps, steps that would be like on a Washington monument. So people just sit where they fit. Some people have their dogs there with them, which makes other people stay away. There is tables outside that have some shade. They also have a barstool area, but depending on what time of day you're going to get blasted by the sun. What really shines here is the service!!! The baristas and service are super nice and very gentle speakers. They're super inclusive. (Yes, I overheard conversations). The drinks!!! Love this place! The aesthetic is super cute and they have lots of other products you can buy while waiting in line. The line can sometimes be long but it moves quick and the staff are all really nice. I had ordered this my first time here as a recommendation by the worker at the register as I told her how I normally like my drinks and she gave me the perfect recommendation as I think the drink I got, the double down bee, is so tasty I get this now every time I go here. It kind of tastes like a cinnamon-y cereal but in the best way. I've also brought my friends here who all got different drinks (the bodhi boy, the pool party, and a vanilla matcha latte) and all were hits with my friends per their tastes as well. Cute little cafe but the drinks were just okay. I got both a matcha and coffee, both mediocre. The matcha barely had a matcha flavor, tasted more watered down, latte was slightly better but for a $7-8 drink, I wouldn't come back especially if I wanted a pick me up. There are far better cafes to get my caffeine fix. read more
I've been on a matcha kick recently (more than usual I should add) so I've been trying matcha drinks all over OC and SD this month. I came with 2 of my girlfriends and the ambiance was great. It's cute and floral and open and airy. Workers are friendly and sociable. There was a bit of a line and the worker also told us it typically gets longer than that so be prepared to wait! We got the rose matcha and this is where the -1 star comes in. There was no floral hint in my matcha. And it was a little watered down for my liking. I prefer earthy, vibrant matcha. This felt diluted. We also asked for water because it was so hot and their water was warm which was a bummer because we just wanted to freshen up a little before we walked around North Park. Overall a cute place to visit, but not one I would drive to for their matcha. read more

Is the music loud?
It is kind of loud, there are speakers all over so it's hard to say it's not loud but it's not obnoxious enough to hear over headphones for me at least.

Every single seat has an outlet. And yes they have WiFi
Do you have any alternative milks available?
Absolutely they do! Definitely oat and pretty sure almond!
