I went to this office for several months. I had bi-lateral carpal tunnel release surgeries done and…read moresought treatment for pain management of arthritis in both thumbs and pain in shoulder (which turned out to be a rotator cuff tear, bone spur, and other issues). On the positive side, the office is easy to access, parking is fairly easy, and the office is clean, modern, well maintained, etc. Wait time to see the doctor is minimal and I was usually in and out if the office in record time. X-rays are done in office and there is a imaging facility across the street (NSI Merritt Island) which makes getting a MRI or CT scan very convenient. Initially I was very happy with treatment, but quickly became dismayed. I felt rushed by doctor and nurses and did not always get my questions answered or concerns addressed. Guess they were trying to keep up their on time schedule, which they were very proud of, as I heard them boast about on occasion. Unfortunately, this was at the expense of the patient getting quality care. I did not get an overall feeling that the nurses and techs were there to listen and take care of my concerns and needs. One example is I needed cotton guards to wear under thumb splints that I was given by the doctor. I was told to ask for more when the original ones they gave me wore out. Months later I asked for more. The techs seemed putout to have to find them for me and after several minutes could only locate one (I needed at least two, one for each thumb). Other concerns, I called and asked for a refill on pain medication on a Friday. No one retuned my call. When I went in for a scheduled appointment on Tuesday I was told that the doctor did not provide additional pain medication and that most people that had my surgery did not need additional medication. That's fine, but a phone call to let me know rather than telling me on Tuesday after my Friday phone call would have been appreciated. The literature I was given said to communicate with the doctor about my pain, and I tried. Instead I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. I think the doctors and nurses are very knowledgeable and proficient in their care, but unfortunately they did not take the time to convey this to me the patient.

The medical assistant told me to "Pick one or not be treated!" That it's not their fault,it's the insurance company. I called the insurance company and they told me that I can be treated for both knees during the same visit. I NEVER RETURNED! VERY ,VERY RUDE!! I delt with another local place and they treated both knees. I understand it's a cat and mouse game with the doctors office and the insurance company,But don't screw around with the patient! UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Avoid this doctor at all costs. In taking the Hippocratic Oath, Callenberger must have overlooked…read morethe word "no" and thought it was "Do harm." My family's experience with him was a nightmare. I had an elderly relative who fell and broke her pelvis. The fractures were mild, not even visible on hospital x-rays; they appeared only in CT scans. Still, Callenberger insisted that my relative had to go to a "rehab center" for two to four weeks. He was adamant, even though--by his own admission--he recalled a rehab center that "reeked or urine," as he blithely put it. Callenberger sticks to one and only one paradigm, and he paints patients into a corner. Disaster can ensue, and it did for us. Since he was the doctor, I followed his directive. I selected a well-rated rehab center, although I found it to be understaffed and blighted by incompetence. Eight days into her stay there, my relative suffered a stroke. Two months later, she died. This catastrophe was avoidable. Had Callenberger presented different options instead of just one--the rehab center--we would have welcomed our relative back home, where recovery would have been congenial and safe. Callenberger should be placed in a rehab center himself so that he gets a dose of his own medicine, literally. The experience might prompt a badly needed revision of his primitive thinking. This sham of a doctor is constrained by a curtained mind and failure to listen. My relative had no desire to stay in a rehab center, but Callenberger insisted. What did he hope to achieve by sending a patient in her 90s to such a place? Of what utility was that? Where is Callenberger's sense of reality and sensitivity to patients? He has none. A competent doctor would take a better-informed, more thoughtful look at individual patients instead of a formulaic approach to the whole lot of them. Intellectually clumsy and thus dangerous, Callenberger needs a realistic appraisal of each unique patient and a more flexible cast of mind. He has neither. Speaking of cast, I would not even trust Callenberger to make a cast or splint. Open his little black bag and you'll probably find snake oil and leeches. This guy should not be practicing medicine. He should be sweeping floors in a morgue or mowing lawns at a cemetery. That way, he would be closer to his victims. Don't trust this guy; don't listen to him. Exercise your own judgment. The life of your loved one will depend on it.

Lisa checked her insurance website and determined that they are in-network for her, so she called their office. They then argued with us AND the insurance company for an hour about whether they were in-network or not. Ultimately, they accepted that they are in-network and scheduled us with O'Brien. It seems like they had decided that they wanted to provide us with no actual service though for some reason. When we met with O'Brien, he didn't even look at my wife's leg at all. He simply looked at the X-rays that the ER had done for about 30 seconds and told us that everything was aligned properly and she was safe to travel back to our state and possibly get a boot once we get there. Well, we made it home (my wife flying in a lot of pain), and followed-up with an Orthopedist here. Turns out that it's BAD. She requires a surgery to reset bones and put in pins in her foot and plates in her ankle. For whatever reason, O'Brien's office decided they did not want to help us at all and reluctantly scheduled us after talking with our insurance company. Then, they just rushed us in-and-out again without even evaluating the injury to get rid of us. What a disgraceful "Doctor".

This is what I wrote to his superiors and to those that Request requested comments in my suggestions. I said, " Your doctor, Dr. Miller and staff were in Direct competition with Cleveland, Clinic and Dr. Brooks staff. Not only that, so was your Hospital at Palm Bay versus the Hosp In Vero Beach called Cleveland clinic. I chose Dr. Miller over the esteemed Dr Brooks not because Dr. Miller was younger or that he did more surgeries which he did not in comparison to Dr. Brooks. Dr. Brooks has a five fold total above Dr. Miller in regards to hip replacement. Although Dr Brooks is an esteemed seasoned Dr. An instructor, I chose Dr. Brooke and his staff because of the massive number of feedback Online from actual customers and their comments in regards to How happy they were after the procedure, how happy they were in choosing Dr. Miller and his staff and how successful they felt years later, as well as how caring his staff was, and how responsible, Confident and serious they took each day in doing their job. That amount of feedback was fivefold of the feedback. Dr. Brooks had online from what I could find. That feedback Was more valued than the five times of experience, Dr. Brooks had. In my opinion, I chose the right Doctor Who did the right job. PS - He And his staff did so well that I had zero bruising, zero discoloration, and nearly 0 pain after my surgery. I just wish I could bungee jump... Lol Just kidding." Then, if I could, I would've dropped the mic and walked away.

He performed my knee replacement 9 months ago and my hip replacement 6 weeks ago, and the results have truly changed my life. For the first time in years, I am walking straight and free from the excruciating joint pain that once affected every step I took. My recovery is progressing exactly as planned, and I am actively doing physical therapy with great results. Dr. Miller's skill, professionalism, and care gave me not only successful surgeries, but also my mobility and quality of life back. I would also like to highlight how excellent Viera Hospital is. The facilities are outstanding, and the staff is truly exceptional--professional, attentive, and compassionate every step of the way. At 76 years old, this means everything to me. I highly recommend Dr. Miller and Viera Hospital to anyone looking for outstanding orthopedic care you can truly trust. Lourdes Alonso Corbett
