This spot has great happy hour deals so I wanted to give it a try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is small but cute with lots of vintage inspired decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got there at a good time around 3:30 - not busy and seated promptly. We split a marg pitcher, chips and queso/salsa, and ordered 2 tacos each. Only paid around $20 + tip which I thought was a steal. However, I wouldn't say the food stood out in any way. Some of the salsa flavors tasted a bit watery and lacked flavor. The tacos were quite bland as well - I got one shrimp and one cauliflower and was not able to force down either of them fully. I'd definitely go back for happy hour drinks and apps, but wouldn't seek this place out for dinner or anything more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, it got quite packed and congested around 5 with the dinner crowds.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Took a long time for food to arrive, not sure if that was because we had a big order or is normal. I loved the chips and yellow/green salsas! plenty of vegetarian options on the menu so got all 5 veggie tacos (fried avocado, squash, impossible meatball, sweet potato black bean, and cauliflower) to share because we wanted to taste test! howeverrr can't lie was not a fan of really any of them, just a bit lacking in flavors imo. also got churros (not pictured) which tasted a little bit like the taco bell cinnamon twists... overall probs would not go back

Being from San Antonio, had to try the Austin inspired place in WI. Went for happy hour, which they have every day from 2-5PM. Half price drinks and tacos. I was even able to get the Margarita flight for $10. 3 flavors. Such a good deal! Honestly, I would not recommend the strawberry. It had a strong mixer flavor. Prickly pear was my favorite. They came in the cutest presentation too. They have 3 draft beer choices. The tacos were good as well. I had the tequila lime shrimp, that was my least favorite of the 3 I had. The shrimp was good, but the coleslaw was more plain than the other two tacos in my opinion. My favorite was the green Chile chicken. The poblano crema made IT. The Al pastor and pineapple was also really tasty. They just have a lot of options! Since it was happy hour, we both got drinks and 6 tacos with a side of rice and beans for $35. Good price. I don't know about the original price of $70 for that though... but The servers were so nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were sat right next to the street with a lot of natural light and a great view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking was around the back. A good another of parking spots but I'd imagine they'd fill up quickly during peak hours.

Came here for lunch because it was recommended to me by a friend that said the tacos were tasty! Once inside we were able to be seated right away and the place was busy!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating area was small though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was fun to look at![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I checked in on yelp and was able to get complimentary chips and salsa! The green salsa was so good I ate it all! The service was a little slow but that's just because it was so busy! The prices were good in my opinion! I ordered the fish tacos and loved them! The fish was well battered, large portion and flaky! The sauce on it was a little spicy for me so I'm happy they didn't put a lot. I'm very picky about Spanish rice and I loved theirs! I ate my whole plate! Highly recommend!

These photos tell the story! Fabulous Happy Hour deals - a three drink margarita flight (flavors of your choice - I recommend the prickly pear!) for $10? Sign me up, once a week, please!

Perfect lunch spot if you're in this side of town! Must try the limeaid!! Inside is very cute and all the antique/vintage pieces on the wall are very fun.

I don't know who Tex Tubb is, but he makes one hell of a taco. This is also a great spot for frozen margarita flights, super fresh guacamole, and delicious burritos. They have several vegan and vegetarian options that looked really good. Our waitress was really great! She was very attentive and helpful. This place is an easy 5/5 and definitely worth the price!

MARGS!! So many incredible flavors. I strongly recommend the cherry, strawberry or raspberry frozen Margs! Can't go wrong!! We went during happy hour and got the tacos too!

I love this place! All the food is great and the outdoor dining space is perfect for a summer weeknight out. I got the stuffed chicken burrito and got the queso on top...so good but could have been hotter, temp wise. My bf got the gun barrel and ate all of it LOL lots of food, but he was happy. I'd definitely go back and I would recommend to others.

    What is the parking like?

There's a large lot behind the Kennedy Place Apartments and shops. I have parked back there numerous times with no issue. Since there are lots of little shops and whatnot, the parking is intended for that. Just a short half-block walk.

Well if so, do I have the place for you! Bandit Tacos & Coffee is a mashup of a few of my favorite things that I never knew I needed. While the tacos and Mexican inspired dishes and drinks are more focused on via the menu, the coffee shop vibe is the true essence of this space. The vibe is coffee shop that happens to serve tacos and margaritas too. The space is delightfully thought out from the seating to artwork, plants and even the music. We popped in for coffee and went with a classic Nitro Brew with Oat Milk and a Dirty Horchata. The drinks were stellar. I sipped on my cold brew for a while, and my buddy enjoyed his horchata. The horchata is fairly thick, so when he needed a little more coffee so he could get every drop they were happy to top him off at no charge. The tacos and food here are elevated taqueria style with fresh made masa/corn tortillas with the location from and the actual corn on display near the coffee tap. Prices were standard for both the coffee and food. Well worth on either end. Overall, we really enjoyed Bandit Tacos & Coffee. I have a growing list of repeat spots to visit and this spot is high on that list!

We stopped in for a late breakfast comprised of a tall delicious drip coffee, a Bandito Breakfast Burrito, Steak & Eggs Taco and a Bandito Tostada. The heritage pork shoulder rubbed with coffee, cocoa & pasilla was incredibly tender and loaded with flavor complimented with a ribbon of scrambled egg beneath and fresh cilantro atop it all. Absolutely wonderful. The steak & egg taco & Bandito Tostada had similar rub preparations and were also wonderful. We still had room for the delicately fried finger sized churros (8) that were crisp on the bite but had an almost creamy texture within and dusted with sugar & cinnamon. A decadent but necessary order. We comfortably shared a bag for dessert. The decor is brick along with an abstract mural in an open space and LOTS of sunshine. Free WiFi too! Would I recommend Bandit Tacos? HECK YEAH! Hustle over and enjoy a delicious meal that the folks take time & passion to create.

I also got the elote in a cup which was a good size for the price, and the horchata was well made but I wish it had a bit more cinnamon. They have a great sized menu so there are more options I'll need to come back and try. I've already got my eye on enchiladas de mole (a personal fave that I struggled to find outside the Midwest) and pozole, which I'm sure will be popular when the cold weather hits. Service was great and efficient. I took my order to go but there were a handful of tables available. There is a small parking lot that is shared with a couple other businesses but nearby street parking shouldn't be awful if it comes to it.

After trying different variations from other restaurants in Chicago and Madison, I have to say they have the best carne asada fries (titled Loaded Fries under the shareable section). The fries are wedged with an assortment of quac, sour cream, their own cheese sauce, and pico de gallo. What made it so good was the ratios of the ingredients and the cheese sauce. The portions are enough for two people to share, though you may leave with clogged arteries. Although at times there may be a language barrier with staff, they were attentive to our needs and checked on us regularly. I always go asada but the quesadilla size is absolutely fair for the price and pairs amazing with both their salsa verde and Rojo. The cooks are always working hard and for the bulk they get, the portions are always over stuffed. Now let's talk about those burritos, ... if you have never had Al Pastor, get Al Pastor. It seasons the already seasoned rice and soaks into the burrito perfectly with out the damn sogginess. They wrap it better than chipotle and that damn thing is so stuffed you honestly say "I only paid this much?!" Pair it with the Salsa rojo with each bite and you'll be hooked. They do come with sour cream, "crema", I always say no crema. It ruins the flavor profile of the Al Pastor. Alright, now the thing you were wanting to know, tacos. Authentic. Cantina. My previous view was based hugely upon the poor customer experience that I had endured. But two weeks ago I returned because I was seriously craving a taco and the other nearby place had finally convinced me they were second rate. (I wrote a small bit, about that location, not more than a couple weeks back. I won't name it, but I rather hope these words will be taken to heart and affect change) But upon my reentry to this place I was beyond pleasantly surprised. Eduardo, the owner whom I have since met, is the reason why I have returned. An active and dedicated team needs their captain. So trying to reimagine the perfect taco place I had a fresh mindset and I think I was accurate about that choice. Today marks the 6th time in roughly 2 weeks. Basic ground beef tacos with onions, cilantro and some lime. Cheap and delicious. Absolutely not a bastardized low fat gringo taco. Not at all. Heavy on the filling and tasty. It's only missing one ingredient: spice. The orders include a pair of sauces, a green and red plastic cup with something resembling a hot sauce. Tuesday is a $1 ground beef taco. Sparse but not lacking in the meat. So glad I tried again. Eduardo has a key quality that makes a place feel welcoming. Friendly, and informative about the foods that are available. I don't speak Spanish, aside from simple jargon that every English speaker has to have as their basic vocabulary, even in regular American speak day to day situations. The place vibrates with a lot of ethnic authenticity right here in my Middleton neighborhood where I've lived now for 15 of my 25 years in Wisconsin.
