So good! Perfect portion sizes and unique flavors. I think I got the brisket or some other slow roasted meat and it was soooo good and tender

Bandit taco, Short rib taco, Achiote chicken taco, Blue Corn tortillas, Oat Milk Latte

Fresh & delicious. Bandit taco was especially delicious & coffee was perfect. First time visiting Madison, first meal. Super cute interior and nice menu. Will come back.

Tried their happy hour after rave reviews. Disappointed. Extremely salty, terrible service, and overall tastes stale. Even at happy hour pricing not worth the trip.

First time here and I hat a wonderful experience!! The nitro iced coffee was perfect and the breakfast taco with pork and eggs, and homemade tortillas was all I needed to get my day started!! I will be back!! This lovely restaurant is located right next to The Harvey House. You can work from here with their wifi and the space is very inviting!

The short rib in the steak and eggs taco is absolutely delicious. The margaritas are also amazing as was the guac and salsa verde. Highly recommend this cute, little eclectic spot. The nitro coffee was great as well. Service was friendly and attentive. We will be back! :)

Love that everything at bandit is always seasoned perfectly!! I am always super impressed with this cute little place! You can order at the counter, take a number, and your food is taken to your table. Staff have always been super nice and helpful. Outside seating is really fun. Great for a casual date night and I have also had takeout tacos which were great too. Highly recommend the bandito taco and patatas bravas. I usually don't like tacos with veggies or without meat but I loved all of their veggie or mushroom tacos surprisingly! The salad is also one of my favorites, it's huge, dressed perfect, and you can add a protein (chicken is the best)

Friendly staff well versed on the menu. Great location next to the bike path and train track. Love the indoor and outdoor seating options. Great space. The tacos were awesome and loved the iced coffee!

I stopped by for a quick lunch on a weekday. I ordered 3 tacos - Patatas bravas, vitruvian farms oyster mushroom and beet taco. All 3 were excellent vegetarian tacos. Vitruvian farms oyester mushroom was my favorite followed by beet taco. This may be the first time I was having vegetarian taco in my life. I also went for a yerba juice. It tasted ok.

The food here is always spectacular no matter what you get. I love that their ingredients are all local and that you can even look it up on the Maize app. With that, the taco shells are always in rotation which is fun. Plus, I love their split flap board!

Very nice indoor spot to study, chill, work. Interested take on having tacos plus coffee shop vibes. Came for quick bite while working. Seemed like the perfect spot. Tacos were unique and worth a try!!

chicken tacos, avocado tostada, whitefish tostada

I LOVE Bandit! First and foremost, the food is excellent. I've tried all of the vegetarian tacos and they're ALL great. I will say they've been bit spicy, but the flavor is so so good. Last time I went, I had the whitefish tostada and avocado tostada which I loved. The ingredients taste really fresh and the flavor combinations are creative and harmonious. I've never been there just for coffee though I'd expect good things based on the rest of their menu. For dessert I've had churros and the affogato multiple times. The churros are a little doughy but taste great. The affogato, however, is absolutely incredible. Other than the food being the main selling point, the vibes are really cool and comfortable! It has a colorful and friendly atmosphere. Plus, for the quality of the food, the prices are really great.

Absolutely loved bandit. My friends and I met for dinner here while I was in town. I was a little hesitant because the places that you pay per taco aren't usually my favorite cause the prize doesn't match what you get. With that being said, everything I had at bandit was incredible. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. I tried three different tacos and loved all of them. My favorite was the chicken with the hot sauce added. That hot sauce is goodness in a bottle. The Paloma was also really good. It's a cute restaurant with a great patio. Definitely recommend checking it out. They have happy hour from 3-5 everyday!

Oyster mushroom, Bandito, and white fish taco.

Went here on a Saturday at 11 am for lunch. Lots of seating available both at communal tables and smaller four seaters. Very nicely done on the inside with a nice flow. I went with my parents and between the three of us we tried the whitefish taco, the beet taco, the oyster mushroom taco, the bandito taco, and the short rib taco. There were mixed reviews of the Bandito taco but overall they were all very good. The whitefish, oyster mushroom, and short rib were towards the top! Service was friendly. Would go back again.

This is a review for delivery via a third party. I ordered…read morethe birria tacos. They had a single corn tortilla. Picked up the first one, and it fell completely apart. It was not fried either; just a soggy freaking mess. Looked like they dipped, but didn't bother to fry it. If you are fulfilling an order for delivery, WHY wouldn't you fry it and use two tortillas? Simple common sense. The street corn was bland. My drink was missing. The churros were good. Will not order from here again.

I chose asada and was satisfied by the tenderness of the meat, the bread was the right choice, the toppings were great and the side of fries were nice and crisp. It also came with a side of green and red salsa, which were both excellent. I also got the elote in a cup which was a good size for the price, and the horchata was well made but I wish it had a bit more cinnamon. They have a great sized menu so there are more options I'll need to come back and try. I've already got my eye on enchiladas de mole (a personal fave that I struggled to find outside the Midwest) and pozole, which I'm sure will be popular when the cold weather hits. Service was great and efficient. I took my order to go but there were a handful of tables available. There is a small parking lot that is shared with a couple other businesses but nearby street parking shouldn't be awful if it comes to it.

I know that's…read morethe typical thing you think of for Mexican food, but it has been on my list to find places that serve it in the Midwest. After trying different variations from other restaurants in Chicago and Madison, I have to say they have the best carne asada fries (titled Loaded Fries under the shareable section). The fries are wedged with an assortment of quac, sour cream, their own cheese sauce, and pico de gallo. What made it so good was the ratios of the ingredients and the cheese sauce. The portions are enough for two people to share, though you may leave with clogged arteries. Although at times there may be a language barrier with staff, they were attentive to our needs and checked on us regularly. A fun fact is that they are located behind the grocery store aspect of the place. Vibes were great.

GF got 2 steak and one chicken tacos. She said steak was good but chicken was flavorless. I got lengua and cauliflower. The lengua was not cleaned well or seared so it was just gray meat with veins and other sclera in it. Cauliflower was typical bar food "deep fried buffalo" style, but on a taco. Guac was decent. I think the gal making margaritas mixed up sugar and salt and our drinks were salty. Poor service - total of 3 people attended our table but nobody returned to check on us. Total experience $45.

What I will begin to say about El Primo is they are a hard working family owned hole in the wall…read morethat Sun Prairie should be grateful they operate there. I see plenty of cops, firemen, and paramedics going here for their lunches. Quesadillas - I have no idea what cheese they put in them, but you get that, guac, and amazing meat. I always go asada but the quesadilla size is absolutely fair for the price and pairs amazing with both their salsa verde and Rojo. The cooks are always working hard and for the bulk they get, the portions are always over stuffed. Now let's talk about those burritos, ... if you have never had Al Pastor, get Al Pastor. It seasons the already seasoned rice and soaks into the burrito perfectly with out the damn sogginess. They wrap it better than chipotle and that damn thing is so stuffed you honestly say "I only paid this much?!" Pair it with the Salsa rojo with each bite and you'll be hooked. They do come with sour cream, "crema", I always say no crema. It ruins the flavor profile of the Al Pastor. Alright, now the thing you were wanting to know, tacos. Authentic. Cantina. Flat top grilled meat and tortillas (yes they heat them on the flat top as the meat and oil. Tortillas are typical maize but I am a harina Chico myself (that's flour boy for you plebeians, just kidding but it's good to note that if you prefer it tell them "Puedo tener tortillas de harina" because I believe you should make the effort to learn someone's language if you're going to partake in their culture and food. These are hard working and sincere people! You may ask now, "okay dude but what meat should I get?" Honestly, you'll never go wrong with Asada but the Lomo de res (rib eye) is soooo rich and so good! Always tell them to put everything on the taco "con todo" (cilantro and onion) grab a lot of salsa and enjoy. We usually get a side of Pico de Gallo which they can do, as well as some Jarritos. The Pico is for the tacos. Look I can go on and on and on about this place but honestly until you go, you will either say "this guy is smoking crack" or "damn he is 100% right" as a former Los Angelino, again, Sun Prairie should be thanking El Primo from breaking up the monotony of "bar and grill" that Wisconsin as a whole has too much of. My two pastor and one steak tacos were overflowing with yummy goodness and I was definitely full afterwards! It's so nice that you can order tacos a la carte (or you can go the full meal and get the rice and beans etc, but I never eat them) for a reasonable price. My previous view was based hugely upon the poor customer experience that I had endured. But two weeks ago I returned because I was seriously craving a taco and the other nearby place had finally convinced me they were second rate. (I wrote a small bit, about that location, not more than a couple weeks back. I won't name it, but I rather hope these words will be taken to heart and affect change) But upon my reentry to this place I was beyond pleasantly surprised. Eduardo, the owner whom I have since met, is the reason why I have returned. An active and dedicated team needs their captain. So trying to reimagine the perfect taco place I had a fresh mindset and I think I was accurate about that choice. Today marks the 6th time in roughly 2 weeks. Basic ground beef tacos with onions, cilantro and some lime. Cheap and delicious. Absolutely not a bastardized low fat gringo taco. Not at all. Heavy on the filling and tasty. It's only missing one ingredient: spice. The orders include a pair of sauces, a green and red plastic cup with something resembling a hot sauce. Tuesday is a $1 ground beef taco. Sparse but not lacking in the meat. So glad I tried again. Eduardo has a key quality that makes a place feel welcoming. Friendly, and informative about the foods that are available. I don't speak Spanish, aside from simple jargon that every English speaker has to have as their basic vocabulary, even in regular American speak day to day situations. The place vibrates with a lot of ethnic authenticity right here in my Middleton neighborhood where I've lived now for 15 of my 25 years in Wisconsin.
