5As is a Greek/Palestinian restaurant just north of Kroger on HWY 53 and it's fantastic, named…read moreafter the family of 5 that own it. Best Gyro in Huntsville/Madison county. Their selection is really nice from lamb/beef or chicken gyro to eggplant stew. They have platters and salads and french fries too. Their apps are great especially the cumber salad ( like tzatziki) and hummus and babaganoush. Most things come with pita bread. Their baklava is excellent. Many people order takeout but eating is pleasant with the Greek decor. Everything is made to order as you watch. Please visit this small family owned restaurant. Their only drawback is every thing is served on disposable dishes. But I give them a break on that cuz it's a small operation with no time for washing dishes. Oh, they are closed Sunday-Tuesday.

We stopped by 5A's Restaurant on our way from Ardmore to Huntsville. A co-worker recommended this…read morerestaurant and we decided to get takeout. I know my way around Greek and Persian restaurants and was excited to try out the foods. We ordered Classic Gyros, fries, Greek salad, Eggplant Stew (Khoresh Bademjan), and Chicken Kabob (Kabob Koobideh Morgh) at the counter. The man behind the counter was curt with customers. He had a regular that he told to sit down when the man came inside for his to go order. I say regular because when his to go order was ready they chatted for a few minutes about personal business. The restaurant was not full when we arrived. There were 5 customers waiting for food when we placed our to go order. 45 minutes later when we left there were 4 customers waiting for food. I noticed an employee walk to the restrooms with a phone in hand. Phones aren't sterile and coming back from the restroom the employee was on the phone. I couldn't see from my vantage point whether employees were wearing gloves. The man who took orders handled credit cards and money and then touched drink cups by the rim. I am sure this happens all the time. I don't see employees with phones and the person taking orders and handling money most of the time so when I see hands touching money or cards and then the drink cup rims my brain says to ask for a clean cup. We did not order drinks to go. Now to the food. Gyros and fries were ok. The pitas weren't toasted so the tzatziki sauce made the pitas squishy. I could not taste the gyro meat as the portion was small. The Greek Salad and dressing was average. Eggplant stew with rice and salad was good and had more cinnamon than I am accustomed to. The chicken kabob came with basmati rice and salad and it was good. This restaurant is between Huntsville and Ardmore. They serve a variety of foods and have a loyal following. We will stop by again to try out other foods. It could have been an off day. For the money the portion sizes are small. If there were more meat in the gyros and more salad in the to go box I would have considered another star.

There is a place where in the summer children run in and out of the water playing nicely together while adults have a seat. There are many different types of retail stores here. Of the list of items with "Check!" only 6 remain. BSTC seemed to have it all! Huntsville was really moving up in the world! I've been here too many times to count. It is great that the parking was expanded with Phase 3 in 2013 to the detriment of the 10-acre lake that was filled in to accommodate the new parking garage and Belk department store. The parking was sorely needed! This is not my go to shopping center. It is my go-to happy hour destination and moderate dining at Connor's [my last remaining favorite BS restaurant]. To me, it is overrun with franchises, as nearly all of Huntsville is! And, being outdoor, it's subject to the weather! Bring a small umbrella if in doubt, you'll thank me later! Also, know there is underground parking on the south end and 2-3 story parking at Belk close to Connors. Do visit BSTC, it's nice that they have a Ferris wheel, and I believe some type of boats available on the far east side, and it's dog friendly in the shopping common area where you'll see plenty of folks with their 4-legged family member.

I ordered the orange chicken and the honey shrimp. I knew they were breaded but I didn't expect it to be mostly breading. Peel off the mushy coating and the nice size shrimp become tiny. Several pieces of the chicken weren't really chicken - they were just chunks of breading. Besides the quality of the food, the preparation was also bad. The chicken wrap mix was absolutely burned to a crisp. I don't know how a cook would even consider serving something like this. It was black. This was carryout. I ordered at the register so I left the restaurant with food that didn't sit on a warmer. Our food was on our table within 15 minutes. Since carryout is an important part of PF Chang's business, there is absolutely no excuse for the food to deteriorate this quickly. I have little doubt that our food would have been equally as bad if we'd dined in the restaurant. Though we used to eat here often, both inside and carryout, we haven't visited in the last year. After a meal like this, we definitely won't be coming back.

The flavors are great, the service is quick, the portions are huge, and the price is reasonable. I always order either fried rice or lô miền and then get to choose my main protein. I would usually just blow it off that they must be having an "off" day, but every single thing I ordered had issues: ;( The 'hot and sour soup' was actually 'warm and bitter soup', and had ENTIRELY too much salt. The 'spicy chicken' would have been ok- but again- ENTIRELY too much salt! And I am a SALT-O-HOLIC!? I wasn't able to eat even half of it... I got half fried rice, which was crunchy and old, and half 'lo Mein' noodles- which were actually SPAGHETTI NOODLES!?!? So strange for Chinese food?? The fried wontons (or 'CHIPS', as the lady behind the counter refers to them?) that come with the soup were stale and bitter- they tasted a week old!? I doubt that I will ever go back- but if I do- it will definitely be a long while as I will need time to forget about this terrible experience. ;(
