I had a great experience adopting our kitten from here! After looking for an entire weekend, and…read moregoing to 7 different animal adoption locations in Dallas, Carrollton and Plano, I saw a Facebook post of kittens at Garland and we planned to come by the next week. Our first round of looking was frustrating, as it was hard to find kittens and you couldn't get an idea of their personality at most shelters who make you apply before you look. Garland Pawsibilities was amazing! Initially we went to the garland shelter but were directed here because they have more cats. They have this amazing kitten social room that you can go sit in, and let the animals Come to you. It was a great way to let their personalities shine and privacy for the adopters as well, with no pressure. I went in on a mission to find a tabby cat, which they did have, but this tiny little black kitten stole my heart. He came up to my boyfriend and I and sat at our feet and was just so curious about who we were. I know if they didn't have the kitten room we would've never come home with our perfect kitten! He was very young when we adopted him, so he did require more shots we paid for at his vet. Just keep this in mind for new adopters. The workers were great and let My boyfriend and I take as much time as we needed. They answered all of our questions, and each time I stop in they seem to have a similar staff that is very friendly. Thank four for all you do! A year later and we can't believe what a great cat we got. He has been happy and healthy since.

We had the same happen to us; you enter and it's immediately a sense of seriousness and "what do you want?" type of attitude. Lovely. I am always in support of people and organizations that reach out to animals in need and it warms my heart when either I or someone else, adopts. This bunch, however, comes off rude and uncaring and as though customers (potential adopters) are an inconvenience and certainly NOT the first priority. A few days ago (from today's posted date) my husband and I adopted a kitten of roughly 6-8 weeks. A sweet, beautiful cream-colored boy. The process was straight to the point and simple enough, however I'd like to make a note that when I was asking about vaccinations, microchips, etc. the woman who I was talking to paid more attention to what her friend was saying than what my questions were. I'd hate to come off as "high maintenance"; I'm simply trying to understand what the kitten is expected to receive in order to live healthy and content. That following evening I noticed the kitten was having a hard time going to the bathroom (#2) so I started inspecting him. His belly was clearly expanded but I figured he simply ate a lot at the shelter, upon examining his rectum there was a clear sign of major (MAJOR) constipation and a potential hemorrhoid. We gave the kitten a warm wash to remove any residue since he was, in fact, LEAKING from the bottom (and continued leaking). My heart broke after realizing this kitten needed medical attention and was most likely in serious discomfort. I'll save you the time about the measures we went through that day (Saturday) and following Sunday, and the fact that the whole weekend consisted of us tending to the little guy from morning till night in any way we can. My husband consulted with a local vet and he said the kitten is most likely suffering from an infection, so by keeping him safe in a kennel we were letting him rest while keeping distance from any bacteria reaching our other cat. We agreed it was best to return the kitten back to the shelter that Monday where he could get around-the-clock medical treatment. The day the kitten was returned, I had to be at work, so my husband went alone and later shared the story. All in all we spent $80 on the adoption and about $80+ more on his general care for those 1.5 days. He entered and explained the situation. The woman pointed at our adoption papers and without mentioning anything else, said that there's "no refund". My husband was shocked...he didn't even mentioned money once, in fact he answered that he doesn't care about the money, he just wants the kitten to get medical attention. She looked at the kitten sitting in our pet-taxi and asked if he'll need his taxi back. Thieves, much?! "Yes." It's clearly all about money for these guys. She took the kitten out and he left. No regard for animals or people. Rude, inconsiderate and greedy. Stay away from this place. We adopted from Plano Animal Shelter once, which was a pleasant experience and visited Rockwall Animal Shelter, which the customer service is night and day compared to this hole. - Concerned Citizen and Animal Lover

We experienced as many as five of their supervisors and the quality of our experience was the same--incredibly high. We've had two other supervisors across the years. I'll share more about the other two supervisors later in this review so you can appreciate Hannah House even more. Hard to find adequate supervisors for even the normal visitation. But this was a very complex situation with the ex-wife and her family and also with the emotional, physical, and mental issues the child was dealing with. Hannah House navigated all those due to their extensive experience, education, and ongoing professional development. Such as expertise in dealing with children with ADD. Their procedures were so very professional. Yet they were so personable with the child and all family members involved in the visitation. All five we experienced helped make each visitation a very enjoyable and special time for all. In addition, later in court, their credentials, vast experience, knowledge of family law, and professional procedures including copious and astute note taking of each visitation really paid off. They were perceived as extremely credible and presented the evidence that all was well and the need for supervision has been removed. To give you an idea of what you could experience if you don't use Hannah House. I'll share about the other two supervisors we suffered through. One, (not Hannah House) only lasted a day due to the behavior from the ex-wife's family. Another (not Hannah House) was seemingly okay until we found that every time after we left, he said the child was disrespectful, etc. and we felt the poor boy was ganged up on by supervisor. Also, we found out later in court that supervisor had also been telling a totally different story to the ex-wife. He was telling us that he didn't see the need for supervision and asked why was there supervision, etc. quite a few times. He even left us alone for 30 minutes to an hour to eat or shop. He felt completely comfortable with the father and son being together alone. And he told us he had cleared this with the ex-wife. But he was hiding it from them and also told the ex-wife and family just the opposite of what he was telling us. He said the son felt unsafe around the father, etc. He did this all to keep the visitation going and keep getting paid. In court, this all came out and he crumbled under cross-examination. All this to say, it can be a jungle out there. Make the right choice and use Hannah House! Finally, I have no idea why there is even one bad review. I think someone got mad at them and then had all their friends write bad reviews. Some bad reviews were even about the wrong business--a nail care business. Don't believe them. Use Hannah House!
