What an AMAZING school!…read more This was my first visit and we didn't even go to a football game! Our son is playing a golf tournament on the A&M course and we wanted to check out the campus. Our kids want to go to college here. Couldn't believe how HUGE this campus is! We saw many so bikes and scooters out and about. The campus was BEAUTIFUL and SO CLEAN. Excited to (eventually) go to a football game in one of the largest stadiums in N. America. My husband and I have been talking about how we love the values this school has. We would be proud to have our kiddos go here.

At the time it was the least expensive state university in Texas. I really had no idea how prestigious it was when I applied. I just knew I wanted to be involved with the ocean and study Marine Biology. As time went by, I discovered I'd jumped into the deep end. For example,I took both semesters of organic chemistry during the summer and had never been that challenged. Later to find out that's considered to be the most rigorous Organic Chemistry course in the United States. By the way, I just found out ,that professor recently retired after teaching there 47 years! Sometimes life hands you an opportunity that later proves us humans can stumble into situations good for us. As a young man having no idea what I was getting into,in the final analysis, this school had a tremendous influence on the way I learned, challenged myself, grew and prospered in life. The reason for this review today is,I just read where Texas A&M campus police are discontinuing, arrest on campus, of students possessing less than two ounces of marijuana. Fantastic...time marches on and...it's about time!!!!

The Military Sciences Building (aka the Trigon) houses the Office of the Commandant for the Corps…read moreof Cadets and all of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) branches. The basement has the Corps scholarship office with various scholarships available to students interested in joining the Corps of Cadets. Each of the ROTC programs also offer 4 year scholarships for students interested in a career as a military officer after graduation. Friendly and helpful staff throughout the building. I'd give the building itself 2 stars since outdated and run down compared to other buildings on campus. With that said, the ROTC programs have done a good job adding pictures and memorabilia to spruce the place up.

This is one of those places on campus that IS Aggieland. It's very central, very open, full of…read morelarge mature live oaks, and the Academic Building itself is a beautiful landmark. There are often students sitting in the grassy areas, studying or hanging out. During the week and especially between classes, there are masses of students heading in all directions. It's close to Northgate and Northside, the MSC, Kyle Field, and many education buildings. The Century Tree, another beautiful and historic Aggieland landmark, is located IN the plaza. There are a few bronze statues and smaller monuments throughout the plaza, including the famous Sul Ross statue. I always have to walk through Academic Plaza whenever we go back to visit ol Aggieland, and it's always a highlight.

Pros: great people, location to university to take challenging classes, teachers that care about students, clubs, music & sports Cons: Not enough funding for academic endeavors. It's hard to succeed in academic extracurriculars without funding, but Consol performs well anyways. The talent and hard work ethic of the students is amazing. You won't be disappointed here.

They don't give you the "college readiness" they boast about, and many end up not knowing anything in college. Many are found being overlooked and disrespected by the school at every turn, ruining their confidence. The teachers give out free A's, and you have to put in absolutely no effort for a good grade, and it ends up being extremely hard when college comes around, because you've learned no material and no work ethic. In addition, Allen makes some horrible staff choices, and even when called out by all students and many parents, they refuse to do anything about it and blame it on the students. They put on a perfect act, but once you go to the school, it shuts off, and they only care about money. Allen Academy ruined high school for me and I wouldn't recommend it for any middle/high school students.

The safety, love, and education the girls felt every day is something most working parents can only dream of replicating outside their home at this level, and something that every child should have the privilege of experiencing. We will take this piece of life with us on our journey and apply the endless life skills they have given them for years to come. I truly hope they all realize what an incredibly special environment they have created and nurtured here. It has been an absolute honor and privilege to be a part of it.

Extremely disappointed in this short lived experience. To start, before choosing this school I had…read moreinitially done my own extensive research in Montessori education curriculum as well as individual schools in my area. The idea was to find a safe environment where lots of play happens but education is also a priority. With that being said I should also state my daughter who turned three the first day of school had never been in a daycare or school system. She has always been kept home and has limited experience with any out of home programs, so obviously I kept that in mind when choosing Montessori and made sure they were informed of this after choosing. At the start everything was fine, the "play date" they set up before your child's first day of school was a glorified check drop off at best. They ask some questions and let them play with a group of kids on the playground. The school is extremely small with only two class rooms that split ages from under three and over three. The over three class room ages probably ranging from 3-5 from what I could tell, each class having 4 teachers each. All in all my daughter seemed excited, we were excited everything seems great, moving on. The first week comes and goes with only a few hiccups to our knowledge other than some potty accidents. My daughter had just turned three and had been potty trained almost two months before we started something every teacher was made aware of. Here comes week two, we are are happy going to school, happy during pick up. There's absolutely no inclination to us that she is unhappy. At most the "observational feedback" the teachers would give us was positive with the occasional "we need to work on this but otherwise today was good". Great we can do that! By Thursday of week three, one of the four teachers I rarely saw or spoke to is now telling me my daughter is saying she's unhappy, that she doesn't like to sit for lessons and that they think she is not a good fit and "needs more movement". They asked if she acts sad to come to school, I said quite the opposite and I had almost three weeks worth of before school photos and videos of her singing, smiling and ready to go. I asked when she acted that way and it typically always revolved around being told to do or not do something..... interesting right? That a three year old would be unhappy with authority. By the way all these things we WANT to work on with her. After this meeting I took the "need for more movement" seriously and signed her up for after school dance classes and TOT basketball to help but by Friday of week four I'm getting a call at work that my child is not a fit for their school and we needed to find alternative care. While they state in the phone conversations and emails that they're doing what is best for the child I really don't see how you even had time to understand what that means for her. My child was expected in 15 school days to adapt to a brand new environment, brand new people and schedule seamlessly to a standard we were never even made aware of and really going against everything Montessori philosophy is built on. I specifically chose Montessori for the hands on and active approach knowing my child would enjoy and need movement, either this school has its own idea of Montessori or they're not equipped for the classroom age ranges and individual needs. I especially don't see how any child who is hyperactive or on the spectrum would thrive. The one positive and reason for the two stars was Ms Quanesha! Thank you for always being sweet with my girl, she was always happy to see you and we will miss you!

Long drive from Austin to College Station to see George Bush Library. Out of all the past…read morepresidents, Senior George Bush is the one I identify with and wanted to learn more about. Other Presidential libraries are Truman and GEORGE Bush, JR but I didn't care about them too much. I was impressed with his background as WWII pilot ‍, had a daughter that died at age 3, and felt he had a destiny to be something greater. After graduating from Yale, he worked as an oil field equipment salesman for Dresser Industries, CIA director and then got into politics to be the 41st President of United States and was ambassador to China for a few years. Impressive resume I do admit. I actually enjoyed reading and exploring his well laid out artifacts and stuff in chronological order. I normally find these historical things boring. If you like collecting stamps from each Presidential library, don't forget to stamp at the gift store your brochure. Always asked for brochure from the security guard. The greeter at the door didn't inform us about getting a floor plan layout brochure, so we just went to where we bought tickets and that guy told us to catch the video first and then head in inside to library to explore and pass by the Presidential car to start your self tour. The docent inside was nice enough to take our photos for us so no more bad selfies. lol He also had a wealth or information to explain things to us at the recreation of Oval Office where you can pose and take more photos! This is a far drive which is why there are not many reviews for this good library. There are two big slabs of the Berlin Wall, one inside Musuem and one outside with the horses statues which is well done. I grew up where the Berlin Wall came crashing down. That was important point of history! There was a small section for Forst lady, Barbara Bush related to books and reading. Outdoors was a lake, her garden and cemetery where The President, First Lady and their daughter, Robin was diagnosed with advanced leukemia are buried surrounded by a gate to protect them.
