What an AMAZING school!…read more This was my first visit and we didn't even go to a football game! Our son is playing a golf tournament on the A&M course and we wanted to check out the campus. Our kids want to go to college here. Couldn't believe how HUGE this campus is! We saw many so bikes and scooters out and about. The campus was BEAUTIFUL and SO CLEAN. Excited to (eventually) go to a football game in one of the largest stadiums in N. America. My husband and I have been talking about how we love the values this school has. We would be proud to have our kiddos go here.

At the time it was the least expensive state university in Texas. I really had no idea how prestigious it was when I applied. I just knew I wanted to be involved with the ocean and study Marine Biology. As time went by, I discovered I'd jumped into the deep end. For example,I took both semesters of organic chemistry during the summer and had never been that challenged. Later to find out that's considered to be the most rigorous Organic Chemistry course in the United States. By the way, I just found out ,that professor recently retired after teaching there 47 years! Sometimes life hands you an opportunity that later proves us humans can stumble into situations good for us. As a young man having no idea what I was getting into,in the final analysis, this school had a tremendous influence on the way I learned, challenged myself, grew and prospered in life. The reason for this review today is,I just read where Texas A&M campus police are discontinuing, arrest on campus, of students possessing less than two ounces of marijuana. Fantastic...time marches on and...it's about time!!!!

Baylor University is a very nice campus to visit. The Mayborn Museum and Texas Sports Hall of Fame…read moreare located here. One of the few campuses where located next to a river while McLane Stadium makes this campus stand out while driving on I-35. After our visit of the Mayborn Museum we ventured off to find the bear pen. After following directions we found it and parked in front. Here we saw Joy & Lady relaxing in the Bill & Eva Williams Bear Habitat. One was sleeping but the other walked around and drank water. They originated from Oregon and are medium sized brown bears. There are signs to not bring pets here. From here you can walk to campus centerpiece Rosenbalm Fountain and circle around to enjoy his beautiful campus. Back at bear habitat you can walk along Waco Creek below. Before leaving made sure to see and take photos of Pat Neff Hall with its magnificent colonial architecture.

Baylor is a highly Christian and conservative university and has low tolerance for other religions and lifeways. It has a strange selective hiring practice in which your religion, faith, and beliefs are more important than academic abilities. Academic excellence takes a back seat to cultural and religious conformity at Baylor. I do not think the current $70-80 k/year price tag for Baylor is worth it, when a better education can be delivered for a fraction of the cost by excellent State schools. Too many of the Baylor students come from a narrow demographic of very well-off families, 75% from Texas. Waco is a dry, dull and staid place to live and often the student population ventures to Austin or Dallas on weekends. If sports, is your sole interests, than Baylor/Waco may be more attractive. I advise caution going to Baylor because behind the groomed grounds, and plastered smiles there is a monolithic religious culture that is unwelcoming to diversity and differences, that are common among use. I question the quality and meaning of higher education under such narrow strictures.

So do you think you wanna send your sons or daughters to Blinn Brenham and I say please do not come…read moreto this school here are some reasons why I believe you should not send your kids to Blinn? My first reason is I live at one of the dorms I asked the RA if they could fix my lock but still today I am waiting for the lock to get fix I also told the Hall Director here at the dorms about it but what did I get from waiting still a broken lock. The second reason why you should not bring your daughters and son to this school is because of the police officers here at Blinn it is kind of messed up and here is why. The cops here at Blinn will pull you over "Outside of Blinn" and why did I quote outside of Blinn is because they pulled me over and left me with bruises and I want to let all of the people who is thinking about going to college here in Brenham Texas I would say do not come here unless you want to get hurt by the cops here. also when I got pulled over by the cops they did not recite the rights of getting arrested and to me that is not a good intention from the cops here at Blinn college I will fact that there was a police officer who asked if we had anything in the car and we said yes but he said if you say yes nothing will happen well the cops here lied to me and a group of friends so the cops are the second reason why you should not attend this college. any 2-year college and any state will probably make you feel safer than here so please do not bring your kids here unless you want to get hurt from the cops and the whole situation of today's society where it's not safe for anyone I mean to anyone I do not want this happening to your daughter or son. If my kids went to this college I would not let them because of those reasons. I went in the police car willingly and I got three bruises on my arm.
