They need to practice together so that they can better understand other team members game". These are my 11 years words when he was totally frustrated just after 2 games. Yes, there is a practice (two teams together) once a week in which they are taught a bunch of exercises/ drills. After that practice, 2 teams can play a short friendly game, but no one cares to build the team. So, a few of the kids lost interest and stop coming for practice and after few weeks they stopped coming for games altogether! I went to talk with administrative staff over there and I asked about lots of kids are missing in practice and I was told that they can not force them to come which I understand. In return, I asked them how do they build teams? The answer was we focus on the core, not the team!! You can try building your team if you volunteer as a team coach. After a little debate, he agreed with me and told me that he will send a GroupMe message which was never sent out. When I see their games, it feels like a bunch of strangers got together and taking a ride towards downtown. They all want to go there but all are busy doing their own things. They all are individually great players but as a team, they are equally bad. So in conclusion If your kid has a bunch of friends playing the same sport and all can go in as one team then it is a great place to get a tremendous confidence boost because on the other side there won't be any team but a bunch of kids trying to dribble and pass with some blind trust that something will happen. To the management: 1. Seems like fundamentals of team sports are lacking from administrative staff on the front desk. Maybe they are doing an amazing job for admin work but not sure if parents have an issue they are capable of understanding or not 2. We did multiple seasons at I9, One sports nation, YMCA. They don't have an amazing facility as you do but they were able to build teams and teach how to compete, so maybe partnering up with them might be a good change 3. Parents spend money and time to see and enjoy their kids play and compete. Which was the case in the other sports camps which I mentioned earlier. My kid's teams lost 2 seasons and won 3 championship games but we enjoyed all 5 seasons. So please have that respect instead of only building core give them something better - strategy 4. If you want to see an amazing league check out Lamar Little League(baseball) down the road on George Park. They have brought the true spirit of the game and generations are playing there, our kid's coach used to play in LLL in his childhood 5. Check the attrition rate in your teams and have some proactive approach that why kids/parents are abandoning half-season!!

It is located to some baseball fields so sometimes the area will have lots of cars parked on the street during the games. The location has a private parking lot so it's never an issue to find an open spot. Going in the interior is pretty nice and clean for the most part. The only part that I found wasn't as clean was the bathroom. Honestly, its a gym, I didn't expect to much from that. The gym area is split into two basketball courts (full court-sized). The facility changes the layout of the gym to fit the different activities that people will take part in onsite. I've gone to play table tennis and basketball so I can offer insights on what takes place during those two sports. 1. Table Tennis: There are 5 tables and generally will all be in use. However, most of the time there wouldn't be too much of a wait time if at all. Generally people will just play doubles if there are too many people. Plus, people come and go, so it's not a big issue. 2. Basketball- When both courts are in use. They split it into two different sides. One side will have a full-court game going on. The other will have 3 baskets down and can potentially have three cramped half-court games going on. During these times the place is PACKED. This is especially so during holidays when lots of the schools are out on holiday. Bonus: I would definitely recommend checking the activity schedule before you go. It wouldn't be fun to show up expecting to play something when it's something else set up in the gym. They offer physical calendars on-site or you can just look it up on their website. Membership fees for individuals who are from Sugar Land is $10 for the whole year! Pretty amazing. I believe for those who are not from SL, it is currently $40 for the whole year which isn't a bad deal either honestly.

Our girls have participated in gymnastics, tumbling, dance, and cheer--and we absolutely love that all of those programs are offered under one roof. It has made life so much easier for our family while allowing our girls to explore and grow in so many different ways. The coaches are incredible. They genuinely care about each child, know when to encourage them, when to challenge them, and are always their biggest advocates. We've loved every coach we've had over the years, and it's been amazing to watch our girls grow in both skill and confidence because of their guidance. Westwood also puts on fantastic special events and summer camps that our girls always look forward to. The positive, supportive, family-like atmosphere is what keeps us coming back year after year. Since it was already close to closing time at 8 pm, we didn't get a chance to go inside, but the facilities appear to be fairly new. There were quite a lot of people around, with families walking, kids playing sports, and people enjoying the different amenities. It was nice to see such a diverse group of people making good use of this public space. There's also a walking trail, so it's a nice place to bring the family or simply come by yourself for a leisurely walk, some fresh air, or a little people-watching. I didn't notice any public restrooms outside, though, so that's something to keep in mind. Overall, it seems like a great community facility and a nice place to spend some time outdoors.

The space is substantial with a bevy of options that include a skatepark, swimming pool, tennis courts, an enormous children's playground, and lots of room for folks looking to exercise outdoors. It is a pet friendly area and a perfect destination for families, social gatherings, and even special occasions. Parking is abundant all throughout the property. The neighborhood center includes a gym + fitness center (#1), basketball courts, and indoor walking track. There are venue spaces for both adults and children for up to 25 people at no cost. There is also after school enrichment programs for kids, teens, and additional programs for seniors. There are volunteer opportunities and community development programming throughout the year. Because it's still fairly new, the facilities and everything are in good shape. Time will tell if they will be able to maintain it but for now it serves as an ideal resource for folks looking to get active and be a part of the Alief community. If you are first time, you need to scan a QR code and fill out a bunch of stuff to join. It was $10 for me to join a 3-6 pm slot (as of Jan 2026). Since the slot was in this sort of increment, you get your best value by coming right at 3:00. I pulled my calf muscle in one of the games and they had ice for me. That was nice. Thank you! There is an area for kids, sort of, but not much to do. It's just an open space that's the size of half a court. It has a few crane machines and chairs to lounge on. I recommend them adding a small play set or bounce house for kids. The parents can then set them loose and have fun. Will definitely be coming back!

It has a golf simulator and a fully stocked bar too. I also saw a private room for parties, a backdrop to take pictures at and a few claw machines. Great for kids and crowds and those who aren't there for pickleball. The courts themselves are pretty standard but there aren't any court dividers, easily having your neighbors balls interrupt your game. Still the courts are very nice. I used the Court Reserve app to register for a spot on open courts. I paid and got my receipt via email but to my surprise, when I checked-in in the morning, the dude said I didn't pay yet. I showed him my receipt via email and let me through. Perhaps this is a problem that hasn't been ironed out yet, and non of my friends had the same problem. I'm glad the guy was gracious and polite about it, but it came as a hiccup that shouldn't have been. If you're super serious about pickleball and care about DUPR and ratings, this place isn't for you. However if you're in it for a good time with friends, with easy access to alcohol and other fun things. This is a nice place to spend a few hours. Pricing is $8 at the time we went, lets hope they're able to keep it up.
