That's not CPR. That's jazz hands on a corpse. The cause? I underwent a bronchoscopy while in full-blown undiagnosed adrenal crisis. Stress steroids? Nope! I was sedated and scoped like a Thanksgiving turkey. Ten minutes later? Flatline. And here's where it gets good: No neurology follow-up. None. I came back shaking like a paint mixer at a coffee convention, couldn't remember my own birthday, and the chart reads like, "Patient hemodynamically stable at the time of visit." Yeah, I was also dead during the same visit, but sure, let's call it "stable." Apparently, short-term memory loss and hands doing the Harlem Shake don't rise to the level of a neurology consult. Maybe they thought I was auditioning for "So You Think You Can Seizure." Echo? Pending. Follow-up? Also pending. Pulse? Pending Neuro? Missing in action, just like half my memories. If you want someone to downplay a cardiac arrest like it was a mild WiFi outage, this is your spot. Came back to consciousness hoping for a cigar and a "welcome back" steak. Instead, I was met with a very disappointing experience. During check-in, the nurse asked if I had been in a recent car accident. I explained that I had been in an accident six months earlier, but that it had nothing to do with my current issue--I had been treated by them for years for this exact problem. Despite this, I was told they could not see me. When I asked why this question wasn't asked when I scheduled the appointment over the phone, no one could give me an answer. After waiting days in pain, taking time off, and having them run my insurance, I was turned away at the door. This is unacceptable. This screening question should absolutely be asked during scheduling. If it had been, I could have booked with another provider instead of wasting days while my condition worsened. Now I'm still in pain and forced to start the process all over again with a different doctor. Very disappointing experience from a place I previously trusted.

The time came when I finally became her patient and on my first visit (Jan 2021) she made me feel judged for deciding to not get covid vaccinated "because I was an Emergency Room nurse and should know better". I took that comment with a grain of salt, ignored it, and decided to give her another chance. Fast forward to my next annual visit (April 2022), I expressed my concern of trying to get pregnant for over a year and only having 4 cycles in one year time span. She told me it was because of my diet and that I needed to eat healthier and stop drinking caffeine and alcohol. Mind you, I drink 2-4 cups of coffee a WEEK, drink alcohol maybe 1-3 times a month, and had already started working on my diet. I expressed that I would like to look at other options to help regulate my cycles. She agreed to draw my labs but nothing further than that. The next week after having my labs drawn, Dr. Angel reached out via the portal stating my labs were normal and I did NOT have PCOS (No vaginal ultrasound was ever done). A month later (May 2022) I called the nurse expressing concern that I still wasn't having my cycle. She spoke to Dr. Angel and called me back the next day saying again to watch my diet due to having "mild PCOS" (remember a month before I was told I did NOT have PCOS?). She said they would check back in with me in 3 months. They did not offer any prescriptions nor a vaginal ultrasound to see what the source of the problem may be. I did my own research and asked the nurse if we could try metformin to possibly help regulate my cycles. I also expressed my concern that I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year and do not want to continue to drag my feet for another quarter year without getting to the root cause of this problem. The nurse stated she would re-reach back out to Dr. Angel and see what she says. The next day the nurse calls me back again and rudely states, "Dr. Angel said she would prescribe the medication, but she said it's not going to help you. Also, we will truly see if you're following a good diet or not because if you take this medication with a bad diet its going to mess up your stomach". I've never felt so belittled and discouraged by a provider in my life. All they continued to want to do is just sit and wait. In June 2022, I made the decision to leave this office and transfer to a different provider. I called the main number to request my medical records. When you press 5 for medical records it immediately takes you to a voice mail. I left my information on the voicemail and was told they would respond in 48 hours. I didn't hear anything for a week, so I called again and left a second voicemail. Again, I never got a return phone call. Another week later, I called and reached out to the front desk and expressed my concern for not hearing back from medical records. She explained to me what I needed to do to request my records. I told her I would fax the information immediately and asked when I would receive my records. She told me 14 days. I expressed that I needed them that week for my new doctor's appointment and that I have been trying to reach someone for 2 weeks to get my records. The front desk lady was EXREMELY rude and defensive, stating "I can't help that she didn't call you back and I'm answering you now and I'm telling you that you will have to wait 14 days". I asked to speak to a manager and was told that I couldn't. It's a month later (July 2022) and I have still not received my records. Coming from a medical professional background, I have never experienced a doctor's office so unprofessional, disorganized, unbelievably rude and lack so much bedside manner. Very impersonal, super unprofessional, and I feel like nobody could be bothered to pick up a phone and talk to me voice to voice about a health issue.
