This was our first experience, lots of meat selection and salad bar/soup/other dishes selection. The price was reasonable and the ambiance was cozy. The restaurant was fancy, more business-type customers and not as many kids (although kids ages 12 and under get 50% off). Not as many selection for kids as well but they have fries, sausages/hot dogs, rice, potato gratins, and meats. I do wish they serve grilled pineapple but not in this restaurant. Texas de Brazil is a Brazilian steakhouse where servers bring around a variety of grilled meats and there's an amazing salad bar to kick things off. We came with a big group of about 18 people and went for the full churrasco experience. The salad bar had a lot to offer -- I really liked the smoked salmon and the lobster bisque was a nice touch. The veggies were super salty though, which made us drink a lot of water and feel full faster, so they weren't my favorite. We were seated in a cozy nook that was perfect for a big group, with mirrors all around and a warm, comfortable vibe. Because of the layout, it took a little longer for the servers to reach us, but they were friendly and did their best to keep things moving. The mashed potatoes were cheesy and garlicky -- delicious -- and the cheese bread was also a hit. Some of the chicken was a bit dry, but the lamb and medium rare beef cuts were great. For a churrasco experience, you have a few choices in Jacksonville. This would be one I would avoid personally. I ordered via DoorDash, and the tomatoes were mushy in the salad. It made me sick and I ended up not eating the salad. The cheese bread is okay, but I prefer it at other locations. Perhaps dining in is a better experience, but if offered on DoorDash then I'd hope they'd maintain the quality and service even if third party delivered. read more

I took my kids there for Mother's Day and spent almost $300 for only being there for an hour. They seated us some where that the server doesn't even get to us. I had to request to have the server bring us some meat every time. This thing happened to me at the other place on New Year's eve. I spent $400 with my kids and came home and still hungry. My boyfriend has been wanting to try a Brazilian steakhouse for a while now and we finally got the chance to go! Texas De Brazil was pretty fancy when you first walk in, with gold and red accents around the place. There's also a large parking lot so no worries there. Our waitress explained everything to us when we arrived since we had never been. She was extremely polite, attentive, and helpful! I started off with the Sammy's Mojito Royale ($13.50) which was very sweet and tasty. My boyfriend tried the Carnaval ($11.50) and also liked it. Starting with the salad bar, I had always heard rave reviews and I guess I was expecting a little bit more? Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy what I had (especially the seasonal Moqueca de Camarao a coconut milk shrimp dish!), but it may have been overhyped. They also bring out Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Cheesy Bread, and Fried Bananas. I loved the creamy mashed potatoes and the sweet bananas, but the bread had a weird "underbaked" consistency, I'm guessing from the cheese. Once you're ready for the meats, you flip your little card from red to green. And boy do they come fast! Within 5 minutes of flipping our card, our plates were full. My top three were the Picanha, the Parmesan Drumettes, and the seasonal Grilled Shrimp!!! I also liked the flank steak, but honestly a lot of the meat tasted basically the same. Because of this, I would probably not rush back, but those top 3 that I listed really have me questioning this haha! Typically I'm enamored with Texas de Brazil. Not so much in this case. We made a reservation on OpenTable for Mother's Day. We figured it'd be busy, and well, we were indeed correct. Now this location is a stand alone location, which was a bit odd. We are used to seeing this chain being part of shopping plazas, but here they happened to have their own building. Did it make a difference? I believe it did and not necessarily in a good way. I will explain. This location is smaller than what I'm accustomed to, coming from Miami where this chain is everywhere. Heck, go to Central Florida and visit the Tampa location to boot and same deal. Consequently, given the size, you'd expect better service, but I will tell you this is not the case. I was asked how I wanted my meat as apparently medium rare is the default at this location. I answered medium as that's the lowest I can go, despite my preference being well done. Not to mention, too, that my companion is a medium rare type of guy, but we usually compromise on medium and go from there. Well, I will tell you that the meats were all over the place. Some were undercooked, some were overcooked, and although the servers figured it out by the end, I'm not accustomed to this. Rather instead I'm accustomed to being surrounded by a dozen servers with meat skewers, with the same meats in varying temperatures. Rare? Medium? Well done? We got it all, and if we don't, we will have it for you! This type of service is sadly not available at this location. Someone else may say they prefer the quiet way the servers leave you alone, but frankly I hated it. If I'm spending good money to dine, then I expect to fullheartedly enjoy my food and that was not the case here. This isn't to say I didn't enjoy my food at all. The salad bar was on point and the goodies they brought to the table divine. The pão de queijo in particular impressed me as it had just been freshly made. Perhaps I should've been more aggressive in asking for meat well done, but I didn't feel there was a point to it. I also didn't want to be known as that customer. You know the type. The customer everyone wants to kill. I think I may be known as that customer anyway as I told the waiter, Arturo, what I thought. He was a nice man and listened to me, so I hope at least my comments help the restaurant. After that conversation, we ordered a dessert, sampled it to then have it packed to go, and paid. Other than that, things to know - well, good luck finding a particular meat because the men holding the skewers don't stay with a particular meat. The leg of lamb man was also the same one who brought the chicken out. Be aware, too, that you will be forgotten and will have to repeatedly ask for what you want. Not sure if this is due to the size of the location or how things are structured, heck even the day we went (apparently they were expecting 900+ people that day). At any rate, this was okay at best. I do not think it was worth the money and normally I'm enamored with this chain. Oh well - I am hoping it was just a dud. For now though, if able, go to Miami or Tampa. Yet another great experience at Texas de Brazil! The server was super attentive, and all of the meat was delicious. I've been to a few locations where the meat takes a while to circulate around the room and they bring out all the chicken and other stuff and don't bring the good stuff out until near the end of your meal. But our meal had good access to picanha and steak and etc the whole time around. They were also really good at refilling the salad bar dishes that emptied out. My only complaint is of the cheese bread. Usually it's more puffed up and bread like. But the batches we got seemed a little undercooked. Welp, when you think all Brazilian Steakhouses are the same, they are surely not. We ate at Texas de Brazil recently. It was something I was so looking forward to. You see, I love me some Brazilian Steakhouses, Churrasco meats, Meat Sweats...the whole nine. We came here as a group of 8. We were seated towards the back of the room, near the Churrasco Kitchen. Our table was technically 15 feet near the kitchen. We could smell every aroma of all the meats being grilled. We were so ready to eat, so ready to throw down some foods. So why a 2 STAR rating? Let me give you the breakdown. Gauchos (2/5): As mentioned, we were a group of 8 hungry people, 15 feet away from the Churrasco kitchen, where all the Gauchos comes in and out of. Oddly, 75% of the time, we didn't receive much notice nor visit from them, like our table was invicible. Folks, it's hard to miss a table of 8...full of Asians. First 20 minutes after flipping that card to green to let all the all the Gauchos know that we are ready..sadly they were not ready for us. We had to flag some of the Gauchos down majority of the time. Again, it felt as if they did not see our table at most times which was pretty frustrating. Our Hungry turned into Hangry, and it really killed our ready-to-feast vibe. Service (2/5): Not going to disclose our server's name, but I felt like he was not attentive enough to the needs of our table. Additionally we had to address to him repeatedly how our table was getting missed by the Gauchos but all we got was false promises and actions. Food (4/5): The meats; the ones that made it out to our table were nicely seasoned. Get the Picanha and the Lamb Chops, soooo good. Looking back into all the meats that could have tried since we tried the Full Experience, we did not see the Lamb Chops nor the Braised Beef Ribs make it to our table. Bummer. Kudos to the Hot Bar, it was nicely stocked with nice selections. Price (5/5): To be fair, Texas de Brazil's ''Full Experience" at $50.99 is the cheapest compared to the other Brazilian Steakhouse locally: Fogo de Chao ($58) and Terra Gaucha ($54.95). As the old saying goes "You get what you pay for". With that said, I'll conclude by saying, I will pay a little more and take my hard earned money elsewhere for some good Brazilian Steakhouse yummies and better service. read more

Upon arrival the exterior of the building feels more of an upscale furniture store rather than a churrasco steakhouse.. once inside you're met by the front of house staff that are attentive and polite; our waiter was top notch as well! He kept my glass of water full the whole time. The unfortunate part about my experience was that I just wasn't getting any meat to my table... my wife and I put our green cards right at the edge of the table where the staff with the meat skewers were all passing by.. so they were obnoxiously visible.. we were constantly going 15+ minutes between getting any sort of meat to our table, even though we'd see waiters with meat passing by every 3 minutes.. almost as if they are pushing us to go to the salad bar to get any sort of sustenance. My friend and I went here last night and had their dinner. I was very excited because I always love Texas de Brazil. This location is located at Town Center, thankfully they have their own building and looking for parking is not a hassle. On a Thursday night we did not make any reservations but we went early and got seated right away. When you enter Texas de Brazil you will see this amazing salad bar and their extravagant flower decoration in the middle. Service: 5 out of 5, it was amazing. Our server is very attentive and always checking on us. Anna, she was on training and she did a marvelous job on her first day. I don't even have to ask for a drink and it was refilled as needed. Food: 4 out of 5. I haven't been to Texas De Brazil in a long time but this time I was just not impressed with the food. The lobster bisque though was amazing and the brazilian cheese bread was warm and sooo good! the salad bar has plenty of choices, they have salami, asparagus, fresh mozzarella, and many more! on their sides they have: mushrooms, potato au gratin (which by the way was really good), black beans, lobster bisque and jasmine rice, I was a little bit disappointed with the mushrooms since that is my all time favorite but when i tried it, it was just not the same anymore. Also the servers will give you mashed potato, fires and plantain (my other favorite) as for the meats they have lots of options, but what I tried is the filet mignon with bacon, filet mignon without bacon , NY strip, sausage, and ribs out of all the meats I tried my favorite is the filet Mignon and NY strip, their meat are cooked so perfectly. Stopped by Texas de Brazil on Sunday. When we lived in Tampa, this was always our go-to spot for special events and special dinners, so we decided to try the Jacksonville location. We were immediately impressed. The restaurant itself was beautiful with vibrant reds and gold accents. Our server Arturo was quick, attentive and charismatic. The meat choices were all executed well, and we had the added bonus of being there for brunch. There were some choices that we hadn't had prior (eggs, bacon, muffins, pastries) that were all delicious. We were also introduced to a new side (standards: garlic mashed potatoes, great cheese rolls and plantains). They actually brought fries to the table. Nicely seasoned and crispy. The salad bar was as I had always remembered with some great new additions as well. There was a pineapple, sliced and candied. It was a just a brilliant accent to the meat we had. It was a great food experience. Food and ambiance-5 stars. Giving this 4 stars though as I have to bring up the fact that there was a huge focus on upsell. I felt almost tricked by ordering still water. You have to make sure you request "tap water". We were already adding drinks (San Gria-my wife said was average) and some other extras. Have heard hit or miss reviews of this location. We dined at the location in Tampa often but our first time here. I like the set up at this location, we had a table next to the wine room which had a nice view of the restaurant, not crowded near other tables and close to the bathrooms. Made reservations on Open Door for 11am on Easter Sunday and called to say we were running 15 minutes late. Phone system is not the best, just push zero to connect to a live person. Restaurant was pretty empty for the first 30 minutes as they open at 11am and it was a holiday, made exploring the salad bar area comfortable and not rushed. The meats came out quickly and perfectly cooked as I requested meat medium (not medium rare as they typically serve) and we had favorites of flank steak and bacon wrapped filet served twice while we were dining. The salad bar also had brunch items including scrambled eggs, bacon, muffins, danish and croissants. Love the freshness of all the vegetables and other salad bar offerings. Our waiter, Auturo, was lovely and did a great job introducing us to this location at our request. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the "upsell" feeling that this chain gives and how some things are not explained. Since it's been a while since we have dined at any location, we forgot about the water trick. They offer sparking or still water, but you can just request "tap" water. We made the mistake of saying still water and paid for an $8 bottle of water that had 2 1/2 glasses in it. With the seasoning and salt content of many of the meats, you need a lot of water so we asked for "tap" after that mistake. The other "upsells" include cocktails, desserts and after diner drinks. This visit was to celebrate my wife's birthday, although we have been to the restaurant before. We are fans of the salad buffet, which is always high quality. The "meat fest" as we like to call it is a fun experience, and service was very good. Compared to the last time we visited, we found that there was less variety but for the most part the food was good. We particularly liked the lamb - it was tender and well seasoned. Parmesan pork and filet were surprisingly not as tender as expected, with the pork a little dry (possibly overcooked). We enjoyed the meal for the most part but felt that the quality of the meats had declined since our last visit. It didn't matter how you liked your meat cooked, it was mostly rare or well done. Didn't care about how you liked it. One server asked if I wanted bacon wrapped filet. Who doesn't? He slipped a shrimp sized, overcooked piece onto my plate and moved away faster than a dog after a squirrel. I don't know about you, but I know of three steak houses that have better food and all under $100 for three people. My total cost at Texas duh Brazil? $250 for three people with drinks and dessert. Stay with me on this one.. My husband and myself tried this place for Christmas evening as we are new here and dont have family to make a big home meal with this year. We decided to try this restaurant, we have never experienced or been to one of these steakhouse restaurants. We had a reservation as the website mentioned was the best especially Christmas. We had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time before my husband actually asked if we were going to be seated soon. We finally got a table which was by the bar where Uber and door dash line up to pick up food. Can you imagine a crowd of dashers on their phones crowded around your table while you eat. So we kindly ask for a new table. We literally had to carry all of our sides and dishes to a new table in the very back. Let's move to the food. The meat is so very chewy, bottom end cuts absolutely horrible. The salad bar is subpar. We got up to try the hot dishes and when we return to the table it had been cleaned off and ready to seat new guests. We couldn't believe it. All of our food gone, our drinks gone, everything. This place is at best a buffet that thinks some chewy meat on a stick makes it fancy. And might I add my bill for 2 people who basically didn't get to enjoy any of their meal because the table.was cleaned off of all my food was $ 158.00.
