We were here on Mother's Day. We have been here several times in the past and enjoyed ourselves, unfortunately this trip was not the same. The salad bar was missing several items that were advertised and was woefully picked over. The meat was a greater problem. Perhaps they were understaffed for the holiday, or the cook was inexperienced, but meat advertised as medium rare was served either well done or burnt. I know I keep updating this review, but we went with friends last night, and I have more to say. First of all, they shortened happy hour to 6:00. I actually left work early to get there at 6:30, so there's no way I can be there by 6:00. And really, how can anyone that works until 5:00 be there by then? As a vegetarian, the part of Texas de Brazil that I enjoyed was the $5 caipirinhas. My husband would drive me because he eats meat and loves the food, and I would drink, since I can't eat much. Well, that is ruined now. So, I looked at the drink menu, and there was nothing cheaper than $9. I asked the waiter if they had well drinks, and he said they did. We've been here a lot, and they never did before, but I told him if it was like $7, I'd have a vodka and Diet Coke. Rather than ask me, he brought it over while I was at the salad bar. It was $8.25. So, for 75 cents, I could have just gotten a caipirinha, which I would have if I had known. I also would have gotten 2 at $7. $8.25 for Deep Eddy and Coke is too much in my mind, so I only had 1. There were 4 of us. Everyone else got the full meal for $44.99, and I got the salad bar. for $24.99 I told the waiter this, we tell all of the people that come over with the meats, and it is also very obvious as you're eating that a person is salad bar only. When they clear your plates, you can plainly see mine only had rice left on it, where the plates that had meat on them are clear to see. So, it comes time for the check, and we were charged for 4 people at $44.99. I pointed this out, and it was corrected and the waiter apologized, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. It is a very over priced salad bar as it is. There is lobster bisque and sushi on it, but vegetarians cannot eat that. I think it's pretty safe to say most people coming here and having salad bar only are vegetarian, and are not eating the expensive things on the bar. I had salad, goat cheese, mozzarella, hummus, bread, mashed potatoes and rice for $25. At best, I probably had $10 worth of food. My husband's meal cost more, but at only $20 more than mine, it has some value to it. He may have actually eaten $45 worth of food, and leaves very satisfied. I left hungry. and mad that they tried to overcharge me, more so than the salad bar already is. At a burger place where your bill is like $40 total, if mistakes happen, I don't mind so much. At a place where our meal was over $200, I just feel things like this shouldn't happen each time we come. It would also help me greatly if they added something else to the salad bar option, like a dessert or non alcoholic drink. Instead, I basically had water, lettuce, and bread, lol. I know this place is not aimed at vegetarians, but it's also not a place my husband is likely to go without me since it is pretty pricey. I lost happy hour now, and I've never been crazy about the salad bar, so I really think we won't be back unless it's his birthday or friends would want to go. We arrived (3 of us) with a reservation and had to wait 10+ minutes to be seated. They seemingly sat two groups of people, one who arrived before and another who arrived after us despite the first group not mentioning even having reservations, and yet we did and still had to wait. The worst part was that instead of being sat in the main dining room, we were sat in front of the bar. Considering we were the only table seated over there at the time I asked if this would he problematic for the meat carvers since we were out of the way compared to the rest of the diners, I was assured this was fine. We grabbed food from the salad bar and after about 10 minutes go by and the host asks us if we got any meats yet to which we replied no, finally a few minutes later they send the carvers our way. They had 3 different carvers all go to our table at once, which was nice, but then that was it. I was frustrated that we were sat in such an inconvenient location and after the first few minutes of waiting I decided to use the stop watch app on my phone so I knew it was real time and not "hungry" time I would be using to express my dismay. I kid you not. We waited a little over 27 minutes before any other carvers made its way towards our side of the restaurant. The bartender who apparently was our server had come over roughly 35 minutes after we had been seated to ask us if we had gotten any other meats yet and then asked us what we preferred & Temps. When the carvers finally came back, none of our preferences were brought, and most meats that were cooked to temp were more on the midwell side despite asking for med rare. When they finally brought filet over, it was also overcooked. The carver said he could grill some for us. When he finally came back, the meat was cooked closer to our preference but was so oversalted it was nearly inedible. All in all, the experience was not great. I went to Texas de Brazil twice last week. The first day I was sitting at the bar, when I heard the manager "stacy" openly criticizing her employees, distracting the bartender by questioning why certain staff members were giving up shifts, asking if they still wanted to work there, and even mentioning that one of them might be fired. The following day we waited approximately four minutes to be seated, during which time the same manager was speaking to the hostess in a very negative tone about an employee who had arrived 15 minutes late. Stating that she wants her to be cut last because she was late. Rather than seating us first, she chose to continue her conversation, making us wait until she was finished. A true hard worker who made it a pleasant experience. Go there just before happy hour ended and we appreciated his pointing that out to us and had some nice, well-made drinks. Most of the steaks were average tasting at best and when I had a second round of some meats, the seasonings were night and day vs. round one. First off, thank you to our waitress Erin who made it a fun experience. Ok, so to the restaurant...looks great inside. What you would expect for the price point. But the food.... Well, to start off we were given cold biscuits. Not a huge deal, right. Waitress mentioned the salad bar... with an emphasis on "trying the lobster bisque!" We were celebrating our daughter's 21st birthday. The environment was fun, classic and clean. The food was amazing eventhough some meats were salty. The rice/beans was very good almost tasted Cuban. The waitress was friendly but not knowledgeable about the Champaign menu that had only 3 choices! I asked for dry Champaign and not even the bartender knew. Until the waitress googled it to see which Champaign they had was dry. Finally I made my decision and The manager was looking for that Champaign for about 20mns, the bottle that I ordered they didn't have so they brought 2 medium size bottles. Waited at least 30 more mns for the waitress to open the bottle until finally she did but we were almost done with dinner so we only had time to drink one bottle. The other unopened bottle was forgotten on the table. Called the manager to adjust the bill and he was friendly and stated that he would. The food was absolutely delicious. The people who bring around the meat were awesome. But our server was sooo bad. We were seated immediately upon arrival and the hostess was very nice, saying our server would be right over. It was a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead. We sat for 8-10 minutes before anyone even approached our table. We ordered drinks and he explained how the food service worked since we hadn't been before. We got up and spent a little time at the salad bar, then eventually sat down. The meats started to arrived and we got started. The drinks were still not delivered. We could see our four drinks sitting at the bar from our table. I had to get up and find our server to ask if we could have our drinks. While we were eating, he did not bring any of the hot side dishes that he had told us about at the beginning like mashed potatoes, french fries bananas, or cheese bread. When we were pretty much done with all the meat, we asked him about it so then he brought some. The french fries that he brought were ice cold And I immediately said that they were. So he took them away. And he never brought more when our entire table was done eating we sat for close to 15 minutes before anybody approached us to ask about dessert or our check. We were clearly done we were sitting and looking around for our server the entire time so it was obvious that we were done eating. I had to get up several times to look for our server and found other servers who then prompted him to come to our table. Amazing! We had Rachel as our server and she was fantastic! So attentive, caring and made you feel like you were the most important people who just stepped into her life. :) All of the meat we were served were great and tasty. I love how they asked for our meat requests a few times and how we like it cooked. The salad bar was great. I've been to Brazilian steakhouses that maybe have a wider selection and some have a similar selection but everything was delicious and high quality. I knew a little about the concept having been to an original in Rio de Janeiro ,Brazil.We all liked the overall atmosphere. The service was excellent. The food delicious and sumptuous. I like everything I tried. Though this can be a pricey night out,I would recommend that you try it for a special occasion. I went there few years ago and I loved their food. Unfortunately I couldn't keep my stomach down due to greasy. However, I looked back and went to this restaurant last week. I noticed the huge change and their food wasn't that greasy. I was able to enjoy the meals. The waitress and meat cutters are amazing!! They were very willing to write it down on the reusable clipboard to let us know what kind of meat or ask us if we need anything. We have truly enjoyed and had wonderful experience. The restaurant business is taking it on the chin these days, but unfortunately it's partly their (= CEOs and venture capitalists who bought chains) fault. If you don't pay people a dignified, livable wage so they can feel some sense of value to their work, what can you expect at pittance plus "tips" (I hate that word, preferring "thank you money")? Servers at Texas de Brazil carry skewers of roasted meat to tables and carve off slices for diners. I saw a slight flaw in the system when we went there last night: the servers' paths through the loud, very loud, extremely loud dining area consisting of tables of many eaters and even a table of only loud, very loud, extremely loud kids made for a skewed (groan) approach: servers took the same routes, it seemed, with their swords of meat to the same tables each time, meaning that huge group of carnivores stripped the skewer clean before the server could get to the fringes of the extremely loud, hearing-damaging loud, eating area. Where we were sitting. Apparently someone in charge noticed my drooling and longing looks at the skewers of roasted flesh as they were decimated by tables full of many hungry, extremely-casually-dressed diners, and offered to have a server come to us first with the spike of filet mignon. I expressed my gratitude and eventually we got to taste some filet. It was wonderful. The Brazilian Limeade is pretty delicious, tart and sweet. The only gripe one could legitimately have is how not like the photos and ad copy the cold and hot buffet areas were. Pretty slim pickins. The web site gushes over the amount of things one can find at the "salad bar" and this was nothing like it. The lobster bisque was, as I expected, kind of thin and lacking any presence of "lobster" except as maybe some kind of flavoring additive. That's conventional because how many restaurants are going to actually pay for real lobster meat in a freely available soup? The creme brûlée was ... memorable. Like an intestinal cramp. Cold, too sweet, and the crust on top was too thick. Don't order creme brûlée at a chain. Leave it to French restaurants who make it a regular thing. The plastic cake slices proffered on the tray were amusing. I wonder what the real cakes tasted like? Did I mention that it was loud? Like near-an-airplane-engine loud? My husband and I are huge fans of Brazilian bbq. We've had it in multiple cities all over the world and every one of them exceed our expectations in taste and service. It was not the case here at Texas de Brazil. Most of the meats were either over cooked or incredibly salty. The picanha (beef cap serloin) is always our favorite cut for its perfect fat to meat ratio and the amazing umami flavor. The picanha here happened to be their "special" but it was INCREDIBLY salty. We usually request many rounds of this, but we tapped out after 2 because the salt was overbearing. I asked if they had Brazilian lemonade (a spruced up lemonade with condensed milk). The server said they did but brought out a plain boring limeade instead. Our service was just ok. Our server was gone for the first half of the meal so our dishes were piling up. The space was much too cramped. The tables were too small for each person's salad plate, meat plate, water, wine, and a decorative centerpiece. There wasn't enough room for the meat cutters. It was awful to have to move everything on our table every time a meat comes around. My expectations of this place were too high after having been to other amazing Brazilian bbq spots, and sadly Texas de Brazil did not come out on top. read more

Checked this place out for date night. With the cost, I was surprised at the amount of groups with kids but it was also nice to see the business being busy. Customer service was amazing. Our table was ready and the servers were on point. One carried my plate from the salad bar to the table for me. They don't tell you that you can just pay for the salad bar, which is really more like an appetizer bar. With sushi, fresh mozzarella, soups, various vegetables, and yes even salad fixings. Their signature drink, the Caipirinha, comes in several flavors and is delicious. At $10 a pop, drink it slow! The meat carvers are constantly circulating throughout the room. Try everything before picking your favorites. I loved the lamb and flank steak! The meat is coated in salt before cooking so drink lots of water. First time back since the Covid restrictions. Definitely not the same quality as previous visits. The items on the buffet seemed lower in quality. I used to love the smoked salmon. This time I took one bite and could not take another, it was very tasteless and mealy. The prosciutto was cut very thick and was so leathery dry, I couldn't even cut it. Same for the rice, dried out and cold. Let's move onto the meats. The chicken was raw inside, the filet was burned and of the wait for the servers was long. This used to be my favorite restaurant. Went back for the first time in a couple years and it was so disappointing. We didn't even get water for 15 minutes. They now expect you to grab your own plates for the main course instead of clearing the salad and giving clean plates. The salad bar continues to be good, but the meat quality has gone down. Leg of lamb was dry and they pushed all of the cheaper cuts rather than provide the cuts they are known for. They up charge now for certain cuts that previously were included in the price. I would really like to give them 5 stars. The food really was fantastic. The salad bar was extensive. The lobster bisque was awesome. The meats were fantastic. The only complaint I have is that during the hour and a half that we were there, we were inundated with sausage, chicken, and sirloin options. Over and over again. But when it came to the better cuts of meat, they were non-existent. After being there for 45 minutes I asked our server what the different cuts of meat were. Going through the list, she mentioned Filet and Bacon Wrapped Filet. I mentioned that we had not seen either of those. She said she would go and ask for it to be delivered. It was another 40 minutes before it ever came. And those were well over-cooked. So, my stubbornness to wait until I got at least one piece of filet was still a bit of a letdown. I don't mind paying the price for a great meal, but it was obvious that they were being stingy with the better cuts of meat. I would probably come again, but would give it some thought. If they would have sent filet around more than once in an hour and a half, it would be a no brainer. read more

For the rest of the main course, there are not many options. It is repetitive over multiple days and their service is slow. Binge responsibly. You will want to try everything. The average person should really pace themselves and not eat with their eyes. Perhaps have an eating buddy to split things you want to try. The meats, oh the meats. I am not a red meat lover and I have to say that I've enjoyed every morsel of beef prepared and served to me. And it need to be mentioned that all of the red meats are served medium rare. My favourites are of course the filet mignon and the picanha, which is a sirloin cap that looks like an incomplete spiral on the skewer. Most of these meats are carved right off the skewer, while other meats are already portioned, like the sausage, ribs and bacon wrapped chicken. Their salad bar, or food bar is fully stocked with delicious options if you are forgoing the churrascos. You can still find items like shrimp, smoked salmon, BACON STRIPS and deli meats and cheeses. I tend to go for seconds on their potatoes au gratin and the rice and beans. The desserts are decadent and one must plan to get this to go. One thing I have to warn about are their alcoholic beverage prices. I hardly think that a house wine should cost more than $6, but I digress. Also, I get the feeling that the servers are trained to up sell when it comes to dessert and alcohol. My first visit, the server suggested I can get my crème brûlée with Frangelico. Thinking this a fantastic idea, I opted for the extra...however, I was charged for a premium liquor shot -- or rather OVER charged. I learned my lesson. Again I digress. I have been told the same goes for their "signature cocktail". The servers push to sell it but do not mention how much it costs. But then again, why would they tell you how much something costs when they much rather say "would you like another?"...sneaky. read more

Then a few minutes go by and park chicken comes out, which is unimpressive. No sides as of yet. Then the waiter brings 2 fried bananas for a table of 11. Then a tiny bowl of garlic mashed potatoes. However, the shyness of my wallet as a poor student stopped me from going there until my friend got some coupon for us. It brought back so many childhood memories. Well-seasoned meat with a bit of sweetness, roasted and served warm by the table. How the meat is served itself is an experience itself. My favorite has always been lamb chops, leg of lamb, plantains, brazillian sausage, and everything else. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday dinner plus it was her first time here. We were seated promptly and right in front of where they go in and out with the meats so I was really excited as I'm a pretty big guy and I figured I would be getting served quickly. However that wasn't the case. You are given a card that is red on one side and green on the other and the idea is great but I think the guys bringing out the food need to pay attention a little better. More then once was our card on green which means we want more yet they walked right by us.
