My 4 year old was not feeling well after a long 20hr road trip. She vomited, a result from random snacks and sitting too long. A situation surprising no one. I called and rescheduled. I didn't think to record the call or send in proof in writing. As the rescheduled date was approaching, I get a $50 bill for a missed appointment. I call and email. I let her know the situation. She told me that this was. something that they had to start doing. I asked for leniency, asked for a warning, letting her know I could not pay this, and I didn't think it was fair since I didn't get anything in writing, saying that this was starting and that my child was sick. We don't get warnings of sickness approaching, sickness just happens. She responds with we don't have a record of that call. That's not really my concern and the fact that the appointment was rescheduled means a call did in fact happen. She let me know that unless I pay the bill I would not be able to continue with my appointments. So I had to find a new doctor for all four of my kids so that they could stay current with their cleaning schedules. And I still keep getting bills from their office. What is the point? ! Isn't it a better business model to keep your customers. Has my insurance not paid you enough? Worst example of customer service. I hope this gets back to the office and I hope it gets back to someone knowing that this is all the result of the rude behavior of Patty Epley.

The last dentist was torture for my little one, she always cried. They have a kids area in the front where there is a movie playing and bean bags chairs. The lobby has plenty of other seating and is very colorful. Kids get a sticker and small prize when they leave. They also get to choose a free cartoon toothbrush in a baggie to go. We've had different assistants that clean her teeth and they are all great with her. They talk her through the whole process and they let her pick a flavor paste they use on her teeth. Dr Coulter is the best! Shes always smiling and interactive with all the kids. As long as I live in the DFW metroplex I will drive my daughter here, even if it takes an hour!! No pre op for surgery My 3 year old was intubated in his office (every dentist I consulted with told me this was not normal) Not conservative when recommending treatment Poor follow up after dental procedures No on call physicians for dental emergency too busy taking vacations My son had zero dental pain and now he's in the worst still 2 months after procedure Crown fell off a day after procedure Dental abcesses 2 months after procedure when again my son had no issues before besides demineralization we believed him when trying to be "preventative" and everything we were trying to avoid from happening actually happened WITH the treatment. He was is the most pain for weeks!!!!! My sons 2 front teeth are infected after his treatment. Please google him prior to having any treatment. I am writing this review based on my own experience. Luckily his current dentist is THE best and said these dentists need to be more conservative. She felt so bad for us she didn't even charge us bc she felt so sorry for him. The layout and decor is friendly and fun, and the TV and little play area speaks directly to children's interests vs. sterile, empty offices you typically see that haven't been kept up in years. The staff understands kids do not generally feel rewarded when they go to a dentist - a toothbrush is not a cool toy, lol - so they stock up on balloons and little squishy toys ensuring kids walk out with a smile. The environment is friendly for all, but the employees who worked there when I was growing up even remember me now as an adult and come say hi. Recently, my permanent retainer fell out so I visited to get a new retainer put in. They treat their patients so well and always charge fair prices for retainer work. After my new retainer was put in, I needed a new removable retainer to go over it as my old one didn't fit. Now they take a scan of your teeth and turn it into a 3D model instead of using the not so fun molding. I was provided a copy of my 3D model so if I ever have any issues with my removable retainers I can just drop the models off at the office to get new retainers made. How easy is that?!

Fast forward to Dr. Nick and his staff and what a totally different experience. I called in to schedule an appointment to have a second opinion for both my daughters and they were able to get me In within 72 hours. During the visit Dr. Nick gave such a warm welcome to us all. After the exam, he explained everything he found in detail, without displaying an ounce of annoyance. Dr. Nick overall does an excellent job expanding on questions or concerns you might have. My girls had to come back for some dental work that required them needing fillings, they were so comfortable with Dr. and his staff they weren't even phased for their second round a week later. My oldest was in some pain after one of the procedures and the receptionist noticed this without us even saying anything, she acted quickly by offering her an electrolyte popsicle which definitely brightened my daughter's spirits. Other good things: The place is super clean, they have the TVs nicely set up on the ceiling for the kids to watch movies, they offer sunglasses to help block the bright light, the software they have helps give a really nice visual of your child's teeth and if they have cavities you are able to see the exact location of where they are.
