I had a broken wisdom tooth extracted today. I have been dreading it for weeks! It was so smooth and easy and quick. I didn't feel a thing and when Dr. Carmichael started, I could feel pressure but no pain. Literally, 2 minutes later, the tooth was out and he was finished! It was amazing. dr. charlie carmichael is an absolute gem. he has been my dentist over 10 years, and his staff is & has always been nice and professional. dr. carmichael has a gentle hand, EXCELLENT bedside manners, and is genuinely concerned about his patients - in 2021 i had unexpected pain over early in the am (between 1:30 - 2:30) & he phoned me back & told me to come into the office as soon as i could after his office opened. upon arriving, they fit me in as a walk-in & dr. carmichael examined me & informed an upper molar on the left had cut a hole on the backside of gum and needed to be extracted - approximately 20 mins later, that tooth was outta there. on 06.13.24, i had a scheduled appointment for a wisdom tooth issue, and again, within 20 mins, the gentle hands surgically removed the tooth. i have had very minimum pain, even after the local anesthesia began to subside. he is a god-send to the industry, and without hesitation, i highly recommended dr. charlie carmichael blessings. have a happy 1, dinkens read more

After a really bad experience with an unethical dentist, I found Vintage Dental. They were friendly, honest and direct. They checked me over and let me know that I didn't need the invasive under the gum cleaning the other dentist told me I needed. I am now set up for normal regular cleanings there. I hate going to the dentist but I always enjoy seeing Dr. Carmichael. He and his staff are very friendly and nice. They give top notch service all the time asking about your comfort to make sure you have a good dental experience. The dental plans they come up with are well explained and priced. They never try and pressure you into something you don't need just to make a buck. I have two crowns that I'll eventually need from 20 year old dental work but Dr. Carmichael checks them out and lets me know how they are looking. It's good to know what's coming down the road but that I'm not being up sold to get something done that I don't need immediately. read more

I know this is going to sound strange to some but Dr. Carmichael makes me love coming to the dentist. He and his staff are amazing. They are so warm and inviting that it's like going to see family. Dr. Carmichael always inquires (but, never pries) about what's been going on with me since my last visit. This takes the edge off of what may otherwise be a nerve-wrecking experience. Not a huge fan of talking to the dentist? Don't worry your little introverted heart. There are televisions in each room so you can focus on that rather than the service. I really appreciate Dr. Carmichael's hours. He understands that the typical 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule does not work for everyone so his office offers flexible early morning hours. It also doesn't hurt that I'm always getting compliments on how white my teeth look after visiting Dr. Carmichael. read more

Not good. Had the groupon. It was cheap, and in this case you get what you pay for. The groupon was for exams, x rays and basic cleaning. The basic cleaning was damn near non existent. Sure, I expected to be upsold/bait and switched/whatever for a deep cleaning, and was pretty sure I needed one, but for Gods sake, at least some effort could have been done to do the basic cleaning I paid for. In October 2018, 3 years ago, I went to Vintage Dental Spa Dr. Carmichael111 about some implants for my lower jaw. l put two implants in my lower mouth to hold my lower dentures in place. The day after the surgery I noticed my mouth area numb. From the bottom of my nose to my chin was numb as if he has just given me a shot to take out a tooth. The same area where a man wears a goat-tee. I called his office the next day and he said that was normal and would discuss it when I come back next week for my follow up appointment. When I went back the following week for my follow up, he told me that the numbness can last a few weeks or even 4 or 5 months. I have complained about this for nearly 3 years and all he says it may never go away now. I contacted my insurance company who says they cannot do anything since I do not have them as my insurance. I have been to a neurologist that specializes in facial nerve damages He says the dentist either drilled through a nerve or the implants are set on a nerve. He has had medication to help the nerve grow back but it now appears the implants are on a nerve which means the nerve can never grow back. On top of the numbness the implants do not stay in. Yes, implants that do not stay in. He says now I need two more implants in the back to keep front ones from coming up. Now he stated I need oral surgery before he can put in back implant that I need. He says there is nothing he can do for me now and will not even see me again. I filed a complaint with the Texas Dental Board which tell me he has to give follow up service for 4 years or it is Abandonment. He does not seem to care about that and still will not see me again. The Dental Board is investigation my complaint, but they tell me they cannot make him see me again or cannot award me and damages to find another dentist to fix what he has done. They3 that I have seen will not do anything to help because they do not want to get into the complaint against him for fear of hurting their own business. So, he has me stuck with implants that do not stay in and my mouth is still numb. I am filing this complaint here to warn everyone as to what he may do to you and not follow up, four years, on services the dental board says are required. read more

A little over a year ago, I purchased this Groupon for x-rays. The dentist was really nice, didn't try to upsell services, and kept me calm throughout the process. More recently, the same dentist did my fillings and I got my teeth cleaned. The dentist was still awesome and friendly and my teeth are sooo clean. Awesome dentist and staff. Dr. Carmichael was very nice but his assistant (whose name escapes me) was very unpleasant. She seemed to be in a bad mood and so unprofessional that at one point, i even asked her if everything was ok with her. My temporary filling came out unusually early TWICE, so i had to make extra visits before getting the crowns. Then, the crowns that dr. Carmichael had ordered didn't fit so it took another few weeks of waiting to FINALLY get the crowns. I have to say though, that Dr. C was very kind and apologetic throughout this ordeal. I had ordered the crowns late April before getting the insurance company's approval but the receptionist, Emily, had assured me that I will be refunded once my insurance approves and pays for it. The refund of $710 DID NOT happen in timely manner. My insurance company paid half of the crowns in early June and i JUST made a call ( it's MID-NOVEMBER and my insurance company paid partially for it EARLY JUNE) and spoke to Emily, who said she will need to have my credit card number in order to refund me. I asked her if that's the normal procedure to get a refund and why she had not told me that before, she said she didn't know whom i had dealt with. I had remembered her name and i reminded her that SHE was the one who told me i would be refunded once my insurance company pays for it, she was unpleasant and nearly hung up the phone on me. Dr. Carmichael was nice but one of his assistants and his receptionist, Emily, NOT SO MUCH. read more

The worst experience ever. Until I went to go get my dental cleaning everything was awesome. From the dental xray tech, to the cleaning tech, the doctor all the services that I received were great. Then I was informed that I needed to get a molar extracted and I asked the lady to quote me from my insurance. Today is the first week of April and I had to call them because I had not heard from them. I have sent 3 people thru groupons to that location. I don't understand why I had to be the mistreated one when I'm getting them patients.. I definitely do not and will not suggest that location to anybody from here on out! read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! My first wisdom tooth extraction was a nightmare (not here.) From being able to feel the surgery to several bone splinters for months to come. Needless to say, I waited to get my remaining two out as long as I could. I've waited 3 weeks post surgery to post this review because I didn't want to jinx my pain-free experience but I am pretty much all healed up. Setting up an appointment was way too easy. Staff was so friendly and helpful. For the brief seconds that I spoke with Dr. Carmichael before being sedated, he was so nice and put me at ease. On a scale from 1-10 on pain (10 being the worst), I would say the maximum that I experienced during the entire surgery and healing process was a 2 and that was only being a little sore the next day. He knows what he's doing. Go here. Don't even look into other options at this point. read more

The staff is so courteous, quick and informative. They don't try to upsell anything-- a refreshing quality when the norm is to bombard clients with "dental whitening and Invisalign opportunities". Very friendly staff yes, bad with communication yes, money oriented and i paid cash, not good at follow-up with patients. Had implants done, $10000. Took about 5 months. I was told I would be able to eat after my last visit and that my gum would cover my tooth. But I wasn't able to eat on it for almost 8 months. Now i need a transplant to cover my exposed tooth or else. No follow up instruction given. I call and left message no response. I left it alone. Friendly staff yes. But very unprofessional in the area of follow and patient care. After 2 years i just got a letter to see how I'm doing. Well as you can tell. Very disappointed. I hope I don't have to any other extensive procedure to maintain these implants. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Carmichael and his staff. Dr. Carmichael performed a gum grafting procedure on a few teeth. The process itself went smoothly. Dr. Carmichael explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions. He is warm and has a great bedside manner. And his staff is also super knowledgeable and friendly. I ask a lot of questions, and I've never felt like they are bothered or annoyed by them. And to top it off, I've never had to wait more than a few minutes before being called in.
