Update: the company reached out and reflected on what happened with the billing. They are working on correcting the situation. Literally charges neighbors different prices for same service on same route. We pay $155 in Forest Bluff per quarter where our neighbors across the intersection in Austin Colonies pay $87 per quarter for the same services (we checked they posted their bill). These neighborhoods open to each other, yet the one is half the cost. When we inquired was told they would look into it to see if our neighborhood would qualify for "the discount." Been with the company for many years and have had several issues with them. I finally decided to cancel my service but still had this past month paid for. It's a total ripoff there's always "new fees" yet they find a way to charge you the most or to make your day as difficult as possible like you don't already have a bad day having to be thre . We went today to throw some shingles. We had it covered with a tarp but the tarp was not trapped down only weighted down with heavy items. When we got there they said that it would be an extra charge of $25.00 because it was not STRAPPED down. So we drove up the drive way, still on their property to strap it down and went back. When we returned they said that it would still be $25.00 because we did it on their property. So we declined altogether. They want to be jerks, that's fine. One way or another they will get our trash without us having to pay the extra fee. Two can play that game. We threw it in our trash bins that go to TDS. I would give them zero stars if possible. I have work for a major refuse company for years and never seen this bad of customer service and support. I have been a customer for over 2 years and they miss my trash pick up at least once a month. All they will do is pick it up next week and give credits. so my trash sits for a week and stinks up the place. On Thursday 3/25/21 TDS missed my entire street. I called and left a voice message. On Friday 3/26/21 they called me and told me that they would be out on that day to pick up my trash. They did not show up at my house. I called them on Saturday 3/27/21 to find out what happened. Instead of trying to make it right, they accused me of not having my trash out. On Monday 3/29/21 I changed my service to Hill Country Waste Solutions. On Tuesday 3/30/21, Hill County Waste Solutions delivered a new trash can to me and picked up the trash that TDS missed. Use them trash and recycling pickup. By problem is the pickup of bulk items. I scheduled a bulk pickup the end of December for January 7th. I called the day of to get confirmation and they said they were coming to pick-up the mattress. So, I heaved the mattress to the end of the driveway. No one comes to pick it up. Called the next day and they said they rescheduled it to the 13th. No one called to let me know. Now I have a wet mattress (it was drizzling all night) that I can't bring back in the house. They suck at scheduling and the customer service is confused at best. Try another trash company. read more

I know, a dump is a dump. But my reason for the 5-star review is the smell! While it may look & feel like a typical landfill, there's no smell! This is the only dump I've ever been to in my 37 years on planet Earth that didn't have me wanting to puke while being there. I don't know what their methods are but to me that's amazing! I've been a few times but I had to dispose my old bed recently which caused me to make an appearance there. The dump is actually in Creedmoor (It says Buda on Yelp) & FM 1327 is a quiet & pleasant little road to travel along. The nature preserve surrounding the landfill is also pleasant to look at & is kind of cool that the landfill is trying to make good use of the land surrounding it. The overall cost of disposing my old bed + large boxes left behind from the new bed ended up being around $67. That with the $45 U-Haul pickup rental + gas was still cheaper than paying the furniture store's $189 disposal fee. The employees I dealt with were friendly, had good attitudes, & from an outsider's perspective they seemed to be well taken care of by the company they work for. read more

My load of 50 pound trash bags was secured from flying out by heavy duty plastic and gravity, and there was NO debris capable of bouncing or flying out; yet they insisted on charging $25 because they felt that once there I had no choice. One mile further down the road is a Dollar General that sells rope you use again for $5, or boxing tape for $3. Take 10 minutes, save $25 and the peace of mind that comes from avoiding their robbery. read more

Of course, the clean up afterward sucks and I ended up with a U-haul trailer full of rotten boards and siding and shingles, lots of shingles. And then I drove it over to Texas Disposal Systems... My advice: Read the FAQ on their website before you go. They answer all your questions http://www.texasdisposal.com/landfill-frequently-asked-questions Website actually says car with trailer is $70, but they only charged me $35. Go as early as you can, like right when they open - As helpful and nice as the staff is, it's a process to get in, and if there are several folks in front of you, it can take a while. I don't care if it's the middle of summer - Cover yourself. When the wind blows, it can get nasty. Wear a long sleeve shirt, jeans and gloves. read more

Wish I could give less than 1 star. Employee interactions are video and audio recorded, but no audio outside of building. My son was told recycling would be as much or more than the minimum $45 dump fee, so he disposed of a few bags of leaves as trash for $45. He was unfortunately given the impression that he could not just keep the leaves and dump the other item which was a $12.50 fee. Customer service became agitated when I suggested that her company assume some responsibility for giving bad information and causing me an unnecessary $35 extra in fees. Also, don't bother looking up the state law for tarping, because they play by their own special set of rules. No load is self securing. Even if it makes no sense you need to place a strap or tarp on everything or they WILL charge you $25 extra. Frustrating is their winter closing time which changes every day based on the length of the day. Couldn't find this anywhere on their website, nor could I readily find info on their fee schedule or tarp requirement, but there was information on the board of directors, their history and career opportunities. Nothing actually useful to a customer. Rather than operating under the philosophy that the customer is always right, apparently TDS always right. They refused to accept full or even partial responsibility for providing inaccurate and misleading information that resulted in excessive fees for a relatively small load. The best price around for a roll-off dumpster. I needed the big one, 40 yards, to haul off a bunch of cedars that I cut down in Driftwood. I had planned on mulching them myself with the chipper I bought, but I quickly realized it would take me a few months, or years..... They recycle them into mulch, and you get a discount for an all brush load. read more

This place is awesome!! My brother and I came to dump a truckload of concrete sidewalk - and it was only $6! I called ahead to ask about price, expecting someone rude per the negative reviews, and they were super nice and helpful. He said to tie down anything you bring in or it's an extra $25 - so we were warned. My bro doesn't live in Austin and was floored at how organized, not smelly, and eco conscious this place is since they're recycling everything. There are separate plies for river rock, concrete, mulch, trees, glass landscaping rocks, etc. AND The best part is their resale area! It's a huge thrift store with ANYTHING you can imagine. Check out the pics! 1,000 golf clubs, life jackets, bicycles, antique wheelchair. And the people in the store were so nice. We interacted with about 5 people total and I would give them all 5 stars for service. I think it also helps when you're nice and kind to them. read more

No cover over your trailer? $35 No cover over your truck bed? $35 Got a mattress? $30 A queen-sized mattress? $40. (I might be wrong about that, I just know they started charging for mattresses, then more for mattresses then even more for queen-sized mattresses). And if you look at their price sheet, there is no mention of mattresses. They like to surprise you! We had a large tire and they were going to charge us $70 to dispose of it. The little guy is going to pay through the nose at this place. Go to Travis County Landfill instead, right down the road. That's what we ended up doing and will do from now on. So I made a trip and the jerk at the booth who never even said hello just started measuring my trailer and tried to charge me $55 for a small 8 foot trailer. I decided not to trash the 2 plywood pieces due to the price and just dumped the tree limbs. Then when i checked out they charged me $12 which is not a lot however it's the principle and when I told him I lived in Kyle, Tx he said you need your bill and ID. Texas Disposal Systems charges businesses a 2 ton minimum every time you get on their scale. Other landfills such as IESI (waste solutions operated by progressive waste) only charge a one ton minimum. How can TDS go around and say their rates are competitive when they are doing this? If you are a small business with a 12' trailer and you are getting on the scale at TDS you are going to be ripped off. I wrote to one of the owners Justin Gregory and he refused to answer my question. We pass TDS on FM 1327 and drive an extra 20 minutes down the road to get to the waste solutions landfill where small businesses do not get ripped off. read more

We have a community dumpster that services 27 units. We have a pickup twice a week because the dumpster stays full most times. The driver took photo of a broken up couch someone put in the dumpster and did not take the trash. They also didn't notify anyone or put a sticker on the dumpster saying why they didn't dump it. So now a week later trash is falling all over the place and we decided to call the customer service center to get an explanation. They deemed the dumpster was contaminated and won't empty the trash! It's going to cost $350 to have them come take this dumpster and replace it with a clean dumpster. What a scam these people are running. "They said we could take the contamination out of the dumpster and then they will take only the house hold items? How is the world are we in a place where the trash company is allowed to hold people hostage over the types of trash thrown in a dumpster. It's a dumpster not the compost bin! not the recycling! a trash dumpster! Since when did the trash services decide they could upsell you because threw out a broken chair or pieces of furniture? If we had been notified immediately someone could have gotten the furniture out of the dumpster, but its now soiled by the household waste dumped on the top. If you looked at the dumpster all you see is normal household waste. We need more options for trash services from the city of Austin. read more

This company ran into my gate and as of right now are refusing to take responsibility. They're claiming my gate automatically closed on them. Which I did not. They sent me an email stating they will not claim it on their insurance. I have had a gentleman come out and quote me on fixing the gate. I am waiting for that report so I can send it in to see if they will do the right thing. But as of Friday they refuse to contact me back, send me my contract and refused to cover it. DO NOT EXPECT TO BE CHARGED CONSISTENTLY EVER It seems like it is whoever comes look at your load throws a number out there to see if you'll buy it or get pissed off and drive away (which I have seen people do). Two hours ago I went and dumped off some fencing I tore down, $5.00. Came back with the second load, this times it is $45.00. Same materials, stacked about 12" higher than first load, just different person looking at it. I was expecting $10-$15 or so for the increased volume since it went above the bed of the truck unlike the first load. Reason being, I was told, the second load had treated materials. Same crud as first load! The person who looked at the first load looked a lot harder than the second person who just glanced at it and shot the price at me. I even asked the first person how much it would cost to dump the posts with concrete on them and she said a minimum of $90 since I had to pay minimum tonnage for garbage and non-recycleable due to the treated wood and concrete. Now this second guys says its $45 for the minimum since my materials is non-recycleable garbage. Seriously....WHAT THE HELL? This isn't the first time it has happened but since it is the only place I have to dump bulky items I am forced to suck it up and pay. Or leave it in my yard for my neighbors and the City to complain about. I've taken bushes and tree limbs plenty of time with inconsistent charging as well. First charged $5. Go again later the same day and its $15. The volume (stacked no higher than the top of the truck cab & inside the plane of the truck bed sides) was practically the same. I don't know if the first person took into account the amount of air between the brush limbs or what but for Pete's sake be consistent across the board. There's you nothing you can do about it. You can vent at the gate guys but why waste your breath. You got to dump your junk off so expect to put down what the house says you have to put down. Oh and if you happen to have a truck with a company logo on it. Then you are now commercial customer and the minimum is going like $75 or $95 dollars if you don't have an account. I forgot which dollar amount but it would probably change by the hour regardless. Plus side, the guys at the dump area next to the resale shop are always helpful and usually cheer me up after the gate has managed to piss me off and rob me. Good luck to you all. read more

Any business that continues to charge a "FUEL SURCHARGE" month after month to clients even with the price of fuel where it is does not get my vote. I only use this company because I have to - they are the only option for garbage in my neighborhood. How about just raising your prices instead of lying and saying that there is some $6.41 monthly fuel charge? When I asked them about it, their answer was - incredibly - "We still charge fuel because we continue to use fuel." What a nonsensical answer. Whatever... These people came by door to door the weekend before last and my wife signed up to switch residential trash and recycling services while I wasn't home. In the week and two days since then, I have been trying to get in touch with them to give them our information and set up a start date. First, I was on hold for over 5 minutes and never got a live person to speak with. So, I emailed and the customer service person emailed back later that day. Said that since the change was done over the weekend, that she wasn't able to find the contract yet. She would do so, then call me back to get the start date and get my payment info. Seemed like a great deal. It was half price for what my current residential trash service/recycling is. Fast forward to yesterday. I respond back to the email saying I haven't been contacted back. Copied some of the higher ups in the company. Got an email back from someone last night apologizing and offering to give me the first month of service for free. Just call and speak with Crystal and she can get you set up. This morning, I called Crystal and left a message. There's been no reply. The contract only allows for cancellation within a week of signing, but I'm asking for them to release me now. Not like they've actually done anything. The "customer service" is non-existent. Unreliable service! They constantly miss my trash! I called customer service twice the day of pick up (6/6/18) in regards to my trash once at 10am to make sure and again at 5:25pm and they mapped the truck and said it was in my area and would pick it up by 7. Still have a full trash can now I have to wait until Saturday because of their mistake! I have written headquarters and got a response but apparently they were just blowing smoke!!
