During his time here, we contacted our insurance company to file a claim which was initiated within 20 minutes with a representative over the phone. Since Oscar was present, it facilitated communication. Oscar gave us a two-hour window between 8am and 10am and said that we should expect to receive a call from dispatch informing us that they are on their way. He also took a series of pictures before he left so that he could inform the crew of the events that transpired. On Saturday, January 20th, the mitigation crew removed a portion of the engineered flooring that was affected and promptly placed industrial fans on and around it. They informed us that they would be back to pick up the equipment (in 4 days) after the area has completely dried and answered any questions we had. Once my insurance company received the paperwork from ServPro, all of sudden, the price was only $2400. They claimed that because they were a preferred vendor with State Farm, there is a discount. BY HALF?? When I asked State Farm about this, they said it's only a 10% discount on equipment. So yes, they price gouge!! Additionally, they required me to pay half of the original $4700 quote up front, which I did that night. I then realized a month later, they charged me the other half as well. They cut extension cords to my outside lights, tore a permanent electrical conduit and outside light off my house, poured nails down my gutters and stole my satellite dish. When I left messages with the GP project manager and owner, they never returned my calls. A year and half later I'm still finding little things on the exterior of my home that they vandalized.
