We went there the day before Christmas and bought gifts for my son , we were told we could return them or exchange them if the didn't fit . The policy stated as long as it was within 15 days of purchase, so we went there on Saturday 14 days after Christmas, and the older man that works there refused to stand by store policy we had receipt and all . Instead he cause a big scene and very rude. At the same time he was flirting with a younger customer and giving her store discounts when she didn't even live in Fredericksburg. he is a very very rude person and should not be working in the store like that.he wouldn't even give us a store credit I Will warn everyone out this . read more

These people have the coolest place. I was there back in January on way to California and stopped in and bout 700 bucks of old time western wear and I wear it everyday for going out or just work. People really like the old time clothing and ask where I got it and I give them the site. they also give veterans discount. really a great place. read more

The customer service was awesome! Came in to look around and possibly find a shirt for my dad to wear to my wedding and ended up finding him a very old fashioned shirt that he would love to have again. I bought him a bibbed shirt in a greenish color and the material felt great, it's a bit heavy but I'm sure it will work great for December. I went to Texas from Louisiana and the main reason I went to Fredericksburg was to check out Texas Jacks. I didn't know about the rest of the town. I brought a gun allowance of a little over 2,000 dollars and I was very disappointed in the rifle selection. I understand in the current climate that guns in stock are hit and Miss but with Cimarron being in town I guess I expected more. Gun shops in my area do not carry any cowboy guns so I was happy to at least see any cowboy fins in stock. That said, I went there with the intentions of buying a rifle or rifle and cap and ball revolver. The salesman behind the counter was content in sitting on his stool not talking to anyone and when I did ask questions he didn't seem to want to talk or like he didn't know about the product. Went to the store three different times, each time hoping I would get some back and forth in conservation so I could decide what I want. Instead I felt like I was bothering them. I left empty handed two times but did purchase a pair of cowboy action pants the last time. I'm leaving 4 stars because they still had some nice cowboy stuff which I don't see at home. Maybe the staff gets used to tourists just looking and not buying so they don't interact with the customers but they missed out on my 2k+ dollars. read more

A nice range of guns; from reproductions of 19th century stars - to modern CCW gear. I've loved, handled, and bought guns here. They have some cool clothes, including some nice leather goods. They have boots and belts and buckles and all the requisite Western gear that you may want. They are also a gun store, which was a pleasant surprise. They also have some non-firing replica weapons that would really look good in a western themed den or study. Between the clothes, weapons, memorabilia and just cool little items, they have something for almost everybody. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their items. This will definitely be a stop on all my trips to Fredericksburg. read more

$$ -- $$$$ Well worth the drive to visit this store, a bit different than your usual LGS. They have a lot of cowboy pistols and rifles for sale for decent prices. Most are demo and factory seconds form Cimmaron Fire Arms. Some interesting used firearms as well. Nice leather goods and western wear/ boots. I could tell the staff gets a lot of dumb tourist questions, no surprise being in Fredricksburg. I bought a rifle stock cover and the mandatory t-shirt. Nice staff who were polite and treated us well. Very helpful with my questions. I will be back again for sure. read more

Mike Harvey, I wanted to give you a heads up. I think you have some disgruntled employees trying to sabotage your business. I don't see with the slow down in gun sales you can afford to lose a $2,800 purchase on a dead week day thru abject unnecessary rudeness. A business check from a CPA's account who has done business with you for twenty years and purchased over $30K of guns from you...? I get it, you don't want a check to bounce, but consider credit cards you pay 2.5% (I know your rate is less - but then you are not adding in all their hidden fees) that is off the top. 2.5% off the top is equal to probably 33% of your NET profit. So a good check has no fees - you increase your net profit per transaction 33%. Regardless if you still don't want to take checks - note it isn't a criminal offense to offer to pay by check and your employees needn't run off a good sale through belligerent rudeness, I had the cash to pay if they could have been other than offensive. Run some mystery shoppers through your store and see how your employees are treating your customers. You built your business on good customer service and unique products. Lost a Long-time local gun buying customer due to rude employees. I actually called a day ahead to verify they had a certain new firearm and said I would be there the next day to purchase. As promised, I arrived to buy. I compared a few pieces and began to purchase. The man behind the gun counter was civil at best. My daily debit card spending limit had been passed so it declined. I initially told them I'd return the next day to complete the purchase. After I left I realized I could drop by the bank a block away and get cash out. I called Texas jacks phone number and told them who I was and that I was coming right back with cash to complete my purchase. All I got was, "you got 4 minutes." After getting past the surprise of being spoken to so rudely, I said, "well, never mind!" I won't be going back. What a shame. read more

I have seen better gun shops but being as it was a wild west outfitter I wasn't expecting to see too many guns. They do have a few guns and holsters but they were over priced by a lot! I was surprised that they had plus size clothing so that was good and their jewelry is beautiful. I was really impressed with this store and found it off the main drag, by accident, after seeing some Cowboys carrying what looked like a rifle box walking on the side street. Had been shopping around for an 1860 Army or Civilian black powder 44 for a while and just could not find one except online. Went to purchase a gun today and was not treated very well. I understand the gentleman that helped me has to deal with tourists on a regular basis but he made several condescending remarks and was not overly friendly I felt like I was bothering him the entire time. I even told him I was planning on buying a gun not just wasting his time. This place charges full retail, I do not have a problem buying at full retail if I get good customer service unfortunately that is not what happen on this transaction. The gentleman did apologize for his behavior after I purchased the firearm. That is the only reason I am not giving this business a one star review. I purchased a used pistol from there and since it had holster wear I decided to sent it to the manufacturer to be refinished. Weeks later the manufacturer called me and said it needed a new frame because of none standard parts added to it and I should not load sell or shoot the pistol. I then called Jack's and ask them if I had any recourse - they turned me down flatly saying it was sold as is even though that was not on my sales slip. They are friendly, but expensive so I would not buy new or used guns from them, I now buy online and am happy with my new results. read more
