Like a few others I would have given them ZERO stars if I could. I hired them last year through an online company called Greenpal. It's like a Thumbtack or Angi for landscapers to get business. My rate was $30 for a basic mow & they worked on my yard for a few months from May-Nov 2024. Not wholly happy as I had contracted for every 2 weeks & between the first now & the second was only about a week. When I questioned the owner, Chance he replied that he had done the initial service out of his route for Plano & needed to do it again so soon because that was "his" regular Plano day. I told him that wasn't acceptable & that the agreed service schedule was supposed to be every 2 weeks & that he wasn't free to change it anytime he felt like it. They would come on different days & were supposed to text me when on the way so that I could secure my dog. A couple of times they left the gate open & it was a miracle that she didn't get out. Fast forward to 2025. I put in to have services start on May 14th. They still haven't shown up at my house & keep postponing my services. Now my grass is tall enough that I got a notice from the city. Wednesday I texted Chance as I was inquiring when they would be coming & let him know that I really needed it done & that the city was getting testy. He apologized for the delay & said they wouldn't be in my area until Thursday to get my yard mowed. At 3:15pm on Thursday I texted him again & stated the lateness of the hour & asked when they would be coming. I got a sarcastic text back saying that he knew "what time it was". I texted back & asked when they would be coming. No show AGAIN & no response. My rate for 2024 was $30 per mow & when I agreed to services for 2025 that is the rate I was given again & what showed in the system. When Chance replied to my text on Wednesday he told me that he had raised his price by $10 a mow & that if my rate was $35 it would now be $45. At the most it should have been $40. I really needed to get it done as the city is breathing down my neck so I was just going to let him do it the first time & find another landscaper. He went into the system that night & changed the rate to $45 which was a 50% INCREASE! When he agreed to provide services starting on May 14th it was $30 & it showed in the system at that rate for 2 weeks. Texted again today & asked when they would be coming & again NO RESPONSE. I have FIRED them in the system & have hired someone else. Now because he has delayed me over 2 weeks my grass is tall & I am going to have to pay an extra charge for the taller grass. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They are unreliable unethical & unprofessional. read more

I could go into full detail on why you should NOT do business with Texas Lawnscapes, but I'll keep it short & sweet. Save yourself time, money, energy & headache - find another company to work with at your home. Here are my reasons, and firsthand experience why you should stay away: 1) nonresponsive - it's almost impossible to actually speak to someone at the office in regards to services or billing or anything 2) basic, generic work - if you run your office & business half-assed, your employees will be just that 3) shady & full of crap - you get basic email responses and when you do talk to someone, it's just lies and scooting around honesty 4) they bought out a small, local lawn care business owner and have failed miserably; further, they don't care about the customers or lawns they work on. You treat it like number, money hungry business - you won't have customers to do work for. I'm 100% disgusted what they did with Luke's Landscaping and how they have ruined such a great business & name. Do not work with them, find another local landscaping business and you'll thank me later. read more

My yard was out of control because I had been screwed around by another company for 2 weeks so I was in desperate need of help. The lawn was too tall for me to mow with my equipment by this point so I reached out to Texas lawnscapes and explained my situation and the gentleman I spoke to told me he could get me taken care of within 2 days but may cost a little extra because of the height of the grass. The crew showed up when promised and did a good job especially considering the condition my yard was in. The crew was very friendly and even went to the extent to make sure that I was happy with what they had done before they left. I have only used this company once but based off that one experience I will use them again and would also be willing to recommend them to neighbors and friends. read more

When given a date of service they do not show and it's usually some reason like, they had an emergency, which usually means a commercial business needed them first. Handling commercial and residential makes it difficult to run a business because someone suffers. They need to hire an accountant to run the company's financial. Very recently, the owner blamed billing errors on a system they used. They sent out paid invoices since they keep credit cards on file and then discovered some invoices weren't actually paid thru a system they used. Well, a person is responsible for the system and monitoring and auditing on an ongoing basis. The owner took no responsibility for the issues with 152 customers invoices. He blamed the system they used. It's the people inputting and the people not staying on top of issues; this financial crisis should not have happened! The owner went back three years and found errors - three years! This should never happen! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I would not recommend this company at all. We were customers of Luke's Landscaping and then Texas Lawnscapes bought the business and have ruined it. We had Ron come out to bid one work in our yard in April. It took a week to just get him to respond on how much the job would be. Finally got back to us, we agreed to the amount, he said it would be Monday, never showed up and no call. Then said he would be out several other times but never showed or gave an excuse why and would promise another day. Fast forward to June and we still have not had the work done and now he won't answer calls or texts (he has Read receipts on so we know he's reading texts ) . We are now trying to hire someone else to do the work since our deadline from HOA is fast approaching. my advice if you don't want the headache is to NOT hire Ron. read more

No Stars!!!!! I was required to put at least one. - This company was hired to trim up the trees of a neighbors house with a similar address. They knocked on my door, but of course no one was home, so they just started cutting. Huge Mistake. I wish I could say that I got a free tree trimming that looked great, but instead what I got was complete butchery. One tree is just trimmed up the sides and looks terrible, the other tree was completely decimated and makes Carrot Top look good. Now mistakes happen, but I was very disappointed to learn from my neighbor what had happened. The neighbor came home and found the crew at the wrong house. Instead of Texas Lawnscapes contacting me that day, leaving me some kind of note or waiting for me they just went home. I had to leave several messages and finally I called back and got a hold of a person. While apologetic I was less than satisfied with their response. I felt they were trying to brush off this destruction of my property as just an honest mistake. It might have been an honest mistake to start, but the way they reacted to it was in my opinion very dishonest. If they cut my grass in error then it will grow back in 5 days. If you cut my trees by mistake it will take 5 years to recover....... A real shame too considering most of their reviews are positive. All of this was just so preventable with a few simple safeguards. read more

These guys did a great job on my front yard, I got some placed stone. They really went above and beyond doing things right. The price was very affordable compared to a couple estimates I got. They even did done extra placed stone around one of my trees for free. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Thanks guys read more

Our yard was weed ridden and had many bare spots when we hired them. We spend a lot of time in our back yard, so it was important to us to find a company that could help. We've used Texas Lawnscapes here in McKinney for several years with no issues. This year they scheduled our lawn service for this last Friday and ended up servicing the unoccupied home next to ours instead. We were trying to stay ahead of our HOA so we placed many calls and emails over the weekend and Monday all of which went unanswered. read more

I would NOT use Texas Lawnscapes. Last week, we arranged for them to mow our lawn prior to some buyers came to look at our home. Scott committed to sending his crew to take care of it on a Thursday, but when Thursday came and wend, and the buyers came, they complained about the lawn because it had not been done. Furthermore, we did not receive a warning that it would not be done so we could arrange a last minute service from someone else. Add to that the fact that I gave this company my credit card info over the phone. At the end of the day, this company is not dependable and does not communicate well. read more

Met with Ron in March and agreed to a total maintenance package that was supposed to cover weeding flowerbeds once per month, fertilizer and weed control every 8 weeks, mowing every week, etc. They did fertilizer/weed control once at the beginning and never again. All they really did was mow our lawn and not even weekly at that. Took an act of congress to get them to put mulch in flowerbeds and come plant some stuff for me. Ron came out several times and we discussed work I wanted done but never followed through. They NEVER cleaned out the weeds in my flowerbed as promised and I finally had to do it after recovering from surgery and it took me 10 hours - that's how bad it had gotten under their watch! That was the final straw for me. I shouldn't have to beg someone to do a service for me for which I'm more than happy to pay for if they would just show up and do the work! They used the excuse of all the rain we had this spring but my neighbors lawn care companies seemed to be able to service their lawns. read more

Have been a customer for 4 years. Service has always been reliable and of good quality. In addition to lawn mowing, weeding, and pruning, I have also had them remove dead plants and do fertilizing and mulch. Messages are returned in a timely manner and everything is done promptly. read more

The crews that have been on our property are very trustworthy and Scott, the owner, has gone above and beyond on several occasions to make sure our yard is perfectly manicured for special events. **tip- if a mower ever hits a sprinkler head, call the office- they fix them for free and usually within a day!!! read more

Guy came out to survey our yard to give us a quote for Christmas lights on trees and scrubs, said initially we can't use our own lights that we would have to buy their LED lights the first time, so I said okay, give me a quote. 3 weeks later, no quote, no callback---I mean, why even say you can do a job and then not even follow through after I agreed to review the quote. Disappointed in them. So I went picked up some Hispanic laborers on Hwy 5 near downtown and for 2 1/2 hours of labor for 2 men---paid total of $120. Didn't need Texas Lawnscapes afterall !! read more

Had a pallet of sod installed by Texas lawnscapes and by another company within the same week. Texas Lawnscapes had difficulty locating the zoysia that was quoted (the other local company did not have this problem). When the pallet arrived it looked very dry and then it sat in the driveway for two days (apparently installer was sick). I had to call twice and inquire about installation time frame. To no surprise, only 50% of sod took root, the rest looks like garbage. To add insult to injury, while the sod was still new they used full strength fertilizer/weed killer and damaged the beautiful sod that was installed by their competition. I had communication with them throughout this process and they responded until I asked what the plan on fixing it was. Then they just disappeared. BTW, the other company replaced fertilizer damaged areas for free. Bottom line - these guys talk a good game but fall short on delivering. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I was very disappointed in the work completed by Texas lawnscapes. Their first task was weed control, which they did a good job at, although the communication and timing was not the best. Their next task was a very large job of creating new beds, this is where I felt they really failed me. Not only did they not dig out the beds as I had requested, leaving very large rock and debris behind, but they also damaged existing trees in the yard, which require that I hired an arborist to save. Furthermore, they did not trim the trees on the property, which was a large portion of the job I had hired them to do. Overall, I think this company should probably just stick with lawn maintenance and not take on any larger jobs, which is where I feel they really lacked any sense of pride in the work that they did. read more

I love these people, top to bottom. Best "service" company I've ever used, hands down. Scott, the owner and his team are the most professional, communicative service company I have ever used. For example, since Tuesday is the day the do our yard, if it rains on Monday, I'll get a voicemail and an email on Monday telling me that our service may be delayed 24 hours due to the weather OR the same thing when they're coming to treat the yard the next day with pre-emergent, for example. No calling and badgering them to find out when they're coming. The guys who come to do the yard are also friendly and are happy to answer questions and chat. They also started an exterior Christmas light service last year that's awesome. We chose the LED lights, they put them up on the day we wanted, then they come take them down, label them and store them in a box that we keep until the next year. Then the following year, they take the lights out of the box and put them up exactly how they put them up the previous year because they labeled them! I cannot say enough good things about them. These are pros and we love supporting local, small businesses like Texas Lawnscapes. And no, we are not related to Scott. read more
