Road weary, we were lured to Texas Lodge Bar & Grill by stellar reviews. This tiny dark place (12-15 tables) has a huge reputation. We were warned by our server that several items were unavailable so close to closing. DH ordered the spaghetti and was offered garlic bread (not included) and I ordered the congri and lechón asado. It arrived sans the traditional maduros which made me sad. The dish itself tasted homemade and the serving size was adequate. I should have ordered a beer accompaniment, but hindsight is 20/20. Of note, there are different cash vs. credit pricing. All in all the stopover was worth it and I have no problem recommending them. read more

I had the spaghetti Bolognese which was one of the best I've ever had, though if you want bread there is an extra charge. I sampled some of my wife's black beans and rice with pork: It was a little on the salty side and there were no plantains (sacrilege!). The prices were on the high side: be prepared to pay $20 per dish and even more if you want steak. There is an extra charge If you want to pay with a credit card. Delicious food, friendly service. Must visit!!! This was the first restaurant I ate at in Midland, and I was very impressed! Restaurant is situated in a strip mall so plenty of parking. It was fairly empty when I went close to closing on a weekday. I got the Cuban Texas Lodge Signature sandwich which is(according to the website since their menu in person didn't have details): "Pita pocket bread filled with slow roasted pork in Guinness beer and veggies, ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard and mayo. Comes with a side of fries." I'm not a big fan of sandwiches, but this one tastes so gooooood!! I can't wait to go back!! The food was filling and I had leftovers. My partner usually gets the burger when he comes here, and he raves about them, so food here is solid. Highly recommend for their tasty food and friendly service!!! read more

I just moved to Midland and lucky to find this special eatery and watering hole! I recommend the steaks, fish tacos, their wings are on point! I'm more of a beer guy myself but the bartender, Eve strongly recommend the Smash mixer and that's sooooo refreshing, especially enjoyable to drink in this hot ass desert... and they make them to-go as well! I'm really surprised I had not heard of this place so I'm trying to spread the word! I never order steaks at restaurants as I like the steaks from my grill, more. But luckily the 16 oz ribeye was only $37 so my wife ordered it and it was REALLY good, I would have been proud if that steak came from my grill (and it was definitely bigger than 16 oz). It's been over a year since we ate at the Texas Lodge Bar & Grill. We liked it at first and went a couple of times, but the menu was limited and the food pricey. We decided to try it again a few days ago and were not impressed. The service was good, but that's about it. I had the Cuban sandwich, the pita bread was overdone and crispy. My wife ordered a very well done hamburger and fries, and asked that they not put seasoning on her fries because she has a food allergy. Her fries had the seasoning, and her burger was medium. We commented to the waitress, and she said she could send it back, but we didn't want to wait for that. She said that they had a 'communications problem' with the cook. My guess is that the cook doesn't speak English. She asked if we wanted ketchup or salad dressing, we said yes. Well guess what? They CHARGE for ketchup and salad dressing! I've never seen a restaurant charge for condiments. Oh, yea, the menu shown above is old. They've added a couple of things--and jacked up the prices. My Cuban sandwich and my wife's hamburger were both over $20. I had water, my wife had one glass of wine, no desert. Total was $60, + the tip! This is one more restaurant that I'll cross off my list! This place is a hidden gem! The Cuban sandwich is incredible and the ribeye is better than anything else you'll find in the midland area. The ambiance is laid back and relaxed. It's homey and comfortable and the service is absolutely spot on regardless if you're there for a quick bite, or to sit and chill for a couple hours. I can't say enough great things about this place!!! read more

Service was kind and welcoming. Atmosphere was dim, bar setting. food was absolutely delicious. we had the Ghost burger and fried pickles. However, it was sooooo expensive! each slice of bacon added to the burger was $1.50, mixed drinks were $12-15, burger was $21! Bathrooms were cleanish. only major dissatisfaction was the $5 charge each for soda water x two Short glasses. overall good food but be prepared to spend! read more

It's quiet with a few TVs and basic bar options. It was a little pricey for what you get. The spaghetti bolognese was dry and bland. Working right down I20 in Midland,. Tx. Decided to grab a beer and a hot meal. Saw this place off the southbound feeder just before walmart. Well let me tell you I picked a winner. Was greeted by Steven my bartender / waiter. He made sure I got those good modelo beers on happy hour 10 minutes before it was over. 4$ each is a great price. They advertise Cuban food. Out of curiosity, I ask Ellie, who is Cuban, all the particulars. After what sounded great I decided on the Texas Louge Burger Supreme. I sat out on the nice patio to smoke and enjoy my beer, then Steven brings out a presentation you could only imagine . All I could say was WOW!. Let me tell you it's very rare to actually get real beef and a full half pound burger with ausome fries. It was magnificent. Priced right about the same you would pay at McDonald's or Burger King but the real deal. Then Eddy, the cook, came out to make sure everything was to my liking and offered home cooke desert. If I had room I sure would have tried that pecan pie. Thank you Eddy for a great meal!. Then to top it off the waitress just coming on came out and introduced herself and helped me find my cigarettes that blew away. They were stuffed in my boot and she saw them! Thank you Casey. A nice quaint place with a simple menu but absolutely delicious! After asking their recommendations we decided on their specialty burgers. All burgers have an option to add bacon, jalapeños, cheese, and/or an egg. When adding bacon, the actually ask how many slices?!? The rosemary jalapeño burger was served on a ciabatta bun and was a good size burger. The additional egg was cooked perfectly over easy without breaking the yolk. Their Texas Lodge Supreme Burger was served on a toasted bun. Both had their own special sauces and beautifully seasoned French fries. After our meal, we were offered dessert and chose a slice of cheesecake. To my surprise it was an awesome slice of chocolate cheesecake. Overall, this new little place is amazing and definitely worth it!
