And then, they were. 10 cars buried at a steep slope, dripping in puddles of color, stand stark in the West Texas flat, dry dirt. It's weird. It's hokey. So when the city looked to get this off their hands, the owner of the local fuel stop bought it to use for capturing attention from people who might otherwise blast by on I-40. Unfortunately, the fuel stop burned down and the owner has since passed away. The only attention this tower is getting now is for itself. It is less than five minutes to exit the highway onto the service road, stop for a picture, and get back up onto the highway. It's worth it.
