They installed our pool in 2014. I've had issues since. I don't believe a soil sample was done before installing my pool. My entire pool project has a LOT of cracks in the gunite, wall, hot tub, patio and sidewalk. All my pipes have continued to leak as the pool was built on top of clay!!! Has anyone had this same experience??? Also they do not like to communicate with you and if you do talk with them they say they will get your issue scheduled and never hear from them again. Stay away from this company and read the reviews. ON Facebook it believe the reviews are self written by the company. This is a Follow up on my review in 2022. This project still has not been completely finished. TX Pools and Patios just quit coming . Now we are finding equipment they used was NOT what was in the contract or what we paid for. They switched to cheaper and smaller equipment. We are now finding out when we attempted to change out the filters !! No final walk thru, NO follow up except wanting money for work they did not complete. Notice they want you to pay almost all monies prior to them being 50% complete and 100% of their money at about 75% of the job. They have no plans to finish what they start. The worst! Stay away!! They never completely finished the project. The plans showed a diving rock that they conveniently forgot to install. When we called this to their attention, they said they would get around to it. Well that was 3 years ago. There have been multiple problems with the pool installation, and they haven't returned for repairs despite the pool and parts being under warranty. Most recently, our pool pump cracked. Since this part is under warranty, we were told we had to use the original installer to replace the pump. They supposedly put us in the schedule only to no call no show the day of the scheduled repair. When we called the next day, they said "oh we are sorry, the technician got a flat tire". They said they would come in the afternoon the following day. Again, they no call no showed. Avoid Texas pools and patios unless you want an unfinished project, broken pool equipment, and no one to return calls or complete scheduled pool maintenance. read more

We used Texas Pools and Patios to build our pool. It was a wonderful experience. Our pool was built in 5 1/2 months. Much faster than several other pool in our neighborhood. We love everything about it. We had the privilege of working with Gary LaChance and Michael Anderson. Gary was a joy to work with during the design process. He was incredibly flexible and updated the design to utilize space and the features we were looking for. He gave us options without overwhelming us. He is very knowledgeable and has an easy going persona that is very non threatening or pushy. We did not feel like we were being upsold or pushed in any direction. Michael was our project manager and truly loves what he does. He was responsive and patient. He allowed us to be hands on during the build process and make adjustments where needed. Our pool was built higher than initially planned to ensure we did not have any run off or irrigation issues. This ended up creating one of our favorite features which are the stairs off the slide. Michael gets to know his customers and takes a sincere interest in their lives. He knew my kids names, played fetch with our dog whenever he stopped by and knew what was going on in our lives. I cannot recommend Texas Pools and Patios enough and already have! They are friendly, knowledgeable, communicative, passionate and genuinely care about your happiness and satisfaction with the work they do. ************WARNING********* DO NOT hire Texas pool & patios. They do NOT know how to measure!!! They did NOT tell me that the patio was not going to be level with the ground and is 22 inches off the ground and people have already fell and busted up their knees and angels. Also, the patio is NOT even and have puddles every where :( They were supposed to place a slide at the end of the pool but did NOT lay enough cement and it was hanging off the edge by 3 ft. The pipe for the slide was 19 inches from the fire pit which was a fire HAZARD. Unfortunately, we were unable to have the slide so, they cut off the pipe and never capped it off which caused our fire pit fill up with water. We had another pool company assess their work and they told us that Texas pools were never supposed to lay the slide pipe under the cement like that which caused the pipe to crack and leak into our fire pit. Then they installed the gas heater to the pool incorrectly and had the ATMOS come out and red tag it and shut it off until they fixed the discrepancy. It's only been 5months since they finish our pool and the fire pit is already cracked and falling apart along with the rock around the spa. I tried to contact the manager and the owner with NO assistance and they only refunded me for the purchase of the slide but nothing else. Bottom line DO NOT USE Texas pools and patios!!!! read more

We are building a pool and had contacted them for an estimate. Had an appointment, designer couldn't make it, so her husband came out who I believe works for them as well. That's where it ends. They were supposed to get back to us with a design and a quote. That was three months ago, and we've not heard back. TP&P is very lucky to have some exceptional people working at their company. I was compelled to follow-up on my previous high marks after our project foreman, Robert, went way above and beyond to fix multiple post-freeze issues that completely shut down our beautiful new pool. The loss of power for almost a full week literally transformed our pool into an ice rink, while the expanding ice in our pipes and equipment took its toll. Despite TP&P's dramatic volume of repair calls after the recent historic winter storm, Robert came out to our house personally to inspect the damage, then within days, he and his team were on site. Within another couple of days, Robert had our pool up and running, even while we're awaiting a replacement for our cracked UV system. I also wanted to mention that we were very lucky to have Michael & Tina as our TP&P sales pros. They maintained great communication throughout and the few minor issues that came up were handled with care and efficiency. They actually took the time to personally come by our home often, ensuring everything was going smoothly and that we were happy and our expectations were being met. In closing, I just want to again give my sincere thanks to Robert for rescuing and resuscitating our beautiful TP&P pool after such a stressful winter weather ordeal. read more

My wife and I just signed on with TPP to build our dream pool and they've been great to work with throughout the initial process. We chose TPP over other builders for three main reasons: 1) Tina and Michael were a pleasure to work with throughout the design phase. They were very patient and worked with us through several iterations to get our design just right. 2) They never pressured us to close the deal. Other builders were pressuring us with standard high pressure sales tactics, which really put us off. We never felt that kind of pressure from TPP. They let their product and design speak for itself. 3) Good value for the price. Unlike other builders, we felt that the design that Tina and Michael put together was worth the price. I have pretty extensive knowledge on the process of getting a pool built, as we just did one about 2 years ago with Claffey Pools in Southlake, TX. This company was amazing. Have one star because I can't give zero apparently. Texas Pools did the original build of our pool 12 years ago. Had issues immediately with tiles popping off in hot tub. It's been an ongoing issue that we have taken care of. Called in AUGUST! To get an estimate to do repair and heard from someone they would do an estimate. It's now December 2, no estimate yet. Called three weeks ago and was apologized to and told they'd "make it right". Guess they're too busy to provide good service. I would not recommend this company. If a company is too busy to do what they probably deem a "small job" tell your customers. This type of service is just completely unacceptable. read more

First and foremost, Texas Pools & Patios were the only ones that would talk to us. This is huge if you're one of the many of us that want a smaller pool that fits your lifestyle. We didn't have $50,000+ to spend, nor did we want to even if we did, however, we were treated with the same urgency and respect as a high end customer. Brian and his crew never left us hanging, Taylor is always there for our service needs and even when we had an issue with calcium on our rock, which was no fault of TP&P, Neil, the owner, personally came out and promised to make it right. There are a lot of choices out there and most likely, building a pool doesn't fall under one of your personal strengths of knowledge. These guys were open and honest about the parts of your pool build that are truly important; pebble vs plaster, the right size pump, etc. I can say these are important because I'm a research freak and found everything they sold me on to be true. No, I would not recommend Texas Pools & Patios. What started as a pleasant experience turned into nothing but issue after issue. I had to point out areas on our deck that did not have proper drainage. They cut patterns into the deck which did not help so now I have pooling water in front of my grill that gets nasty and tough to remove when dries. That's just one example of how they don't really think through or have use their experience for good solutions. However, the worst part by far is the Plaster. I was upsold to the Quartz as it was a special free upgrade I was told. I was later told they had not done many of them yet and it was new for them. We had nothing but problems from day 1 and each time I called to bring it up again, they attempted to blame something or someone else and eventually blamed me. First a rude old man came out from the plaster company and told us it was our fault it wasn't right - I have no idea how that can be. Then supposedly the owner of the plaster company came by while we were not home and said there was nothing he could do. After 2 years of having the pool, I was still cleaning out residue of the plaster from my filter and the bottom of the pool has obvious lines through it. Now 3 years in there are cracks in the plaster and Texas Pools & Patios says they will only look at it if the pool is leaking water. It's a complete joke on how they support their customers, requiring I call in weekly on some issues just to get them to come out and look at something and then to have the audacity to blame me for issues on a brand-new pool. Of course, this is after they tried to blame each of their contractors, claiming some quit mid build and it was never their fault. read more

Worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. We received lots of contact in the beginning before we paid two large portions. Then had almost radio silence unless we escalated. The pool itself for the cost does not look as nice as it should. There gaps in plaster under the ledge. Cement around pool has little holes. Pool plumbing was put so shallow it's been a hassle trying to get my sprinklers installed so they can stay under the dirt. After delivering the pool our pool manager came by once a week to put in start up chemicals but then never came back. Still haven't received our pool school. Also the equipment given is way older then other pools in the area. I don't have a mobile app to control the pool even though it was requested. Don't even have a remote control. Have been having to use online forums to figure out how to manage our pool. If you are already a pool expert and don't mind waiting use this company. Otherwise go somewhere else. read more

Just completely unimpressed. I submitted a request for quote and received an email reply with absolutely zero punctuation stating I needed to call them. I replied and asked for a date they could come out and quote a new build - no reply. My husband insisted we needed three quotes so I called and after leaving a voicemail, got a text and set up a time. The gentleman who came out was personable but didn't seem to want to do the work of listening to what I wanted and designing a pool. He kept stating that he knew I had other quotes and "what did they do?". At the appointment he said that he'd come by this Friday to show us designs and a quote. When I emailed him Thursday to follow up and ask for a time, he said he didn't put it in his calendar and needed to meet next week. Nope. I'm trying to give you $100k for a pool and if this is my experience before we even sign, I'm not interested. I'm sure they do nice work, but I'm done chasing. read more

We started building a pool with them in July. At first it started out ok, but when we got to the plaster part we didn't hear from anyone for over two months. No return phone calls or text messages. After we gave them our last payment and the pull was supposed to be finished we had even more issues. We have no table for the pool, half the jets in the spa don't work, the spa heater and the spa lights don't work. Spa heater gives off an IF error message. They also, put the overflow drain too low. Coping is all rusty colored. They didn't bring in enough dirt to cover pipes. Also, our remote aquatic system was never setup. The pool guy was supposed to come out on 4/2/22 between 9-10. He never showed up or even called. This is very normal with this company. They just want your money and beyond that forget it. read more

We contacted Texas Pools & Patios requesting a quotation on a patio renovation. During the phone conversation I was asked to send in some photographs. I did so via email on 9/10/19 but did not receive a response. On 9/16/19, I followed up with an email to ensure they received the previous email and again ask for a response. On 9/24/19, I contacted the company again asking for a response. Ok, so today, 10/1, I've not receive a response of any kind so it's obvious they don't want the work. My opinion would be much higher of Texas Pools & Patios had I received a response even if it was to say, sorry our schedule is full and we are not willing to purse your project. Worst experince ever! 7 Months of delays, not responsive. Site manager never shows up, when he does, he makes sexual advances and calls me drunk, saying he has a Hard on thinking about me. The job site was left in a mess. They hire subcrontrators, that are misinformed and upset with the project and details of the project, and what they where expecting vs what the actual project was and what they were going to be paid. Which resulted in consant arguments between the the sub and manager, which resulted in the manager wanting to charge me for things that Texas PP, miscalutated in the original bid. However, Jareb was the only sales rep who took the time and effort to work with us on achieving our final vision given our budget. Once construction started, our project manager Cole did an outstanding job. As new pool owners, we weren't sure what we were getting into. Cole was patient, considerate and kept us reassured throughout the entire process. Cole offered ideas that we otherwise wouldn't have thought of during construction. Where to begin, first Unlike many builders in our area TPP responded to my phone call and within hours I had a rendition of my future pool provided by John Trovato. After interviewing 4 pool companies John and TPP offered the largest pool for my budget. During the design phase John met all of our requirements and requests with ease, and we stayed in budget!!!!!! Once the construction phase started Brian Mobley took the reins. Brian stayed in contact with me every week informing me what crews to expect and when. The entire construction process went flawless, watching the backyard turn into a paradise has been a pleasure. All the contractors were very professional and polite. Choose Texas Pools and Patios to build our first pool. Process went fairly well the first few months. Communication was decent and I felt like we were in a good place with them. March 2nd, my contact person, Michael, set up a time to meet with me to discuss a few punch list items that needed to be completed. We needed some grout filled in at a few places, we needed the back side of the concrete on the outside of the pool painted, and an umbrella sleeve installed. Nothing that couldn't be finished in less then half a day. I asked about getting the umbrella sleeve drilled and installed before the pebble and finishing was completed. From what I have seen and heard from others who had a pool built, the umbrella sleeve is to be taken care of before pebble is installed. Michael told me I was worrying about the wrong thing and putting too much energy into it. Pebble was completed March 18th, and acid wash finished on the March 19th. Once again asked about the umbrella sleeve that day. Michael told me it was done, when I sent him a picture, he mistook the umbrella sleeve for the bubbler hole. March 31st, asked again about when then punch list items would be completed. Michael told me he would follow up with getting these done. April 8th, asked the same question. Michael told me I will follow up with appropriate individuals. April 22nd, same question. Michael said he would contact crews today. May 9th, same question. No response. May 12th, same question, Michael admitted yes, this should have been completed by now. June 6th, contacted construction manager Robert with TP&P. He told me they would be out by end of week to get these things done. No one showed up, contacted him and he told me his guy called in 'sick.' Then Robert said they would be out today June 13th. As I am writing this, on one has shown up, no one has called. It has been 12 weeks and 3 days since punch list was made and still nothing. Be weary of this company. read more

WILL NEVER RECOMMEND. If there was an option to give a negative star I would, unfortunately the system only goes down to a 1 star. It has been 9 months since we contracted Texas Pools and Patios and 7 months since construction began and here we are, still no end in sight for completion. We were told it would be 3-4 months 5 max. The sales part was good, real good in getting us to believe we were picking the right company. $114,500 and 7 months later we are beyond frustrated with how poor the execution of the build has been. It is the worst I have ever experienced with any company. I have even called several times asking to speak to the owner but I am always told he is not available so I request a call back but as expected, still waiting for that callback. Which leads me to understand why the construction supervisor/manager is the same way, always MIA (missing in action). He never answers calls nor returns texts. I have to text follow ups every day to just eventually get an answer then when he does respond, its just lip service as no one ever shows up to do the work he said would be done. I have been trying to get a valid plan/schedule from Texas Pools and Patios from the very beginning but that's the last thing they are interested in as they don't have one. It's like they are just locking you in the contract to get the work on their books but they don't have any plan nor workers to do the work. If we had to do it all over again we would NEVER go with Texas Pools and Patios. We have had so many issues during the build and the construction supervisor/manager is never around to verify the work being done resulting in rework and more delays. The quality is as poor as it gets. It's like going to your favorite expensive restaurant and having your waiter disappear on you after greeting you saying he'll be back to take your order resulting in the worst service you ever expected. We recently finished our custom resort style pool with Texas Pools & Patio. I never write reviews and am taking the time as this was a HUGE purchase for my wife and I. First off I interviewed nearly every pool builder in Austin, my vision was very simple, trying to mirror the St. Cecilia Boutique Hotel here in Austin. Every OTHER pool builder we met with wanted to add on all kinds of slides, waterfalls and crap we were not interested in. Our vision was a simple, clean, rectangle style pool with low frills. The reason we selected TX Pools & Patio was based SOLELY on Danielle........she absolutely rocks!! From the time we met we knew instantly this was going to be a good fit. She was awesome, not pushy but gave very appropriate advice when needed. We literally built the lowest budget pool possible with many competitors not interested in doing something without all the bells and whistles. What we ended up with was an AWESOME backyard resort.....pics attached. On to the build process, Bryan was also rock solid......I believe his first pool build with the company and took the time to make sure everything was done right. We began the build during the huge flood here in Austin......we were very nervous but it went flawless. Only reason they still have two stars from me is because the pool portion of their work is done well. Update 3: Heater circuity broke from being exposed to water (funny for an outdoor piece of equipment 3 years old), took over a month to get them to fix it (Memorial Day to past 4th of July.) Reply from Texas Pools and Patios claims that their attempts to bribe us to retract our BBB claim was just a misunderstanding. Bribe: "persuade (someone) to act in one's favor, typically illegally or dishonestly, by a gift of money or other inducement." I stand by that word and will stand by that word, it is right here in writing and it is staying that way. Our landscaping was a debacle that I had to spend tens of thousands of dollars to fix on my own time. TP&P tried to offer us edging in exchange for retracting BBB claims. The edging should have been part of the extremely expensive landscaping we payed for in the first place. Only a very small percentage of the original landscaping is still in place, much of it was not suited for Austin or growing fast enough to fulfill our number one request of privacy. Update 2: Service and warranty issues continue to be problematic. If you call TP&P they take a message and then rarely ever call back instead of actually scheduling a service appointment from the first call. Right now I have a broken UV filter which is under warranty for 3 years. Have not heard anything from TP&P, pool has been out of service for 3 days. Previous to that I had a burnt out bulb and needed new filters but they took 4 days to call and I had already purchased replacement parts even though my bulbs are warrantied for 3 years. I also discovered that TP&P buried a wooden support beam to my deck and roof. I did not notice this for over 2 years and the beam has rotted. This was a careless act that undermined the structural support of my whole house. Update 1: After filing BBB claim Texas Pools and Patios *BRIBED* us with landscape work that we should have had done in the first place (edging) if we would retract our claim. We did not retract it. Oct 21, 2010: Texas Pools and Patios took 6 months to get water in my pool and I had to hound them near daily to stay on task and do things in the proper order. As of today (11 months from contract), the final inspection is still not done, the construction permit is expired, and the company has tried to wiggle out of doing some of the things we agreed to have done during the sales process. I was told several times over the phone that I would be taken care of and that the owner would make sure things were going to be followed up on. Apparently not. I gave plenty of opportunity for the company to do justice to this project before writing this review. The pool itself is great. They do good work. The process and some of the subcontracting work was poor. Fence work: OK, highly priced. Would contract on my own instead of with pool company. Carpentry work: VERY poor, careless work. posts not cemented in correctly, boards not secured, lines that aren't straight. Landscaping: Poor, overpriced and below central Texas standards. No edging, small plants that we were charged huge mark ups for. Rock work: Good work, very messy crew that didn't clean up the site or respect my property. I don't know how the other pool companies do business, but I know there was a falling off point in April of 2010 where our project became lost in priority and we felt disrespected. I didn't feel like I could trust the company to not cut corners, I had to watch things like a hawk and I recommend anyone doing business with TPP to be equally vigilant.
