Had these guys over to unclog my shower drain. Cedric basically upsold us in their 129 year package which got 15% off and a free water heater inspector. While Cedric was unclogging our shower (which he did successfully for 450), he chipped our new flower floor. Further he left a mess everywhere. We complained on yelp and he called us back and said he would make it right. Then no further calls from manager. Then we got the water heater inspector and those guys proceeded to rip our insulation triangle in the attic. Don't hire these guys. This company has decided to join the price gouging racket going on right now. We were taking quotes to have a prefab shower enclosure, we bought, installed. Most quotes came in at 1500-2000. This company quoted us almost 10k. Of course they wont give you the quote when doing the estimate and "will call you later" with it. When we laughed at their quote, they offered to "meet us in the middle". We still laughed at them. Imagine that, an instant discount of 5k. Then they proudly said, "we can finance it for you". Paid 50% at the time of quote, but After thinking about it, with an old toilet, I decided to just replace the cutoff valve. I cn then decide wheter to replace the toilet later. My Homeserve plan sent Texas Quality Plumbers to service a clogged sewer outlet. The plumber told me, according to his camera, that it was plugged under a toilet and therefore not covered by Homeserve. The service would be $900 and change. I knew he was pulling a scam and asked to view the video. He said it wasn't saved and I would have to pay for the re-inspection. I declined and he left. I dug out the line and found the 3" sewer PVC pipe had shifted underground between the house and the clean-out. So the plumber couldn't have videotaped the nonexistent plugage at an interior toilet as the pipe was deadended with solid soil. We had leak that left a couple of water spots in our home and I called this company because of the good reviews. But we were indeed scammed, the technician quoted us $21k for a "bellying of our pipes". We had mentioned to the tech that everytime we noticed the wet spots it was when we ran our dishwasher but he never checked our dishwasher or anything. We asked him to do the camera to check our pipes and he concluded the 'pipe bellying' due to 'erosion' (The pipe camera service is $450 btw, another ridiculous amount.) Well first of all, our home is a NEW build, its less than 5 yrs old so it ddnt make sense to me, plus who has 21k? We went ahead and hired a different plumbing company and within the first 15mins they concluded that it was our dishwasher that was causing the leak! I saw it with my own eyes. They said that i just needed to replace our dishwasher. They said that there's nothing wrong with our pipes. Which totally makes sense because we noticed the leak everytime we used our dishwasher. Plus they fixed our garbage disposal for FREE compared to Texas quality plumbing quoted us $750 for a new one. How ridiculous. I called Texas quality plumbing because it was upsetting to get quoted 21k and i also asked for the video recording and pictures and a detailed report of the pipe camera service they provided and they cannot provide me with the report. They said 'we can come out again and the tech will do it again and explain to you where he found the bellying'. They said that they dont even have the initial recording! I've used Texas Quality Plumbing for several issues recently. Last week, I had a gas leak on the pipe coming into my home. Although the technician, Manny, did a nice job replacing the pipe, I was disappointed in how management handled the timing of the repair. During a week of 30 degree temperatures, my gas was turned off on a Tuesday, and I contacted TQP that afternoon. They sent the estimator out on Wednesday morning. The repair technician arrived on Thursday morning. He suspected a leak in the system so wasn't able to request inspection that day. Rather than stay to resolve the issue, management advised the technician to go to another job and return to my home on Saturday...which would mean that it couldn't get inspected until Monday. Meanwhile, my home was 53 degrees inside with no heat, hot water, dryer or oven. After complaining, the problem was fixed on Friday and gas was restored the same day. Then I needed to have my tankless hot water replaced. Rodolfo and Brian replaced the hot water heater that is in the attic of my three story home. They worked quietly and efficiently and had the new equipment running quickly. read more

unfortunately, I am giving this company a rating of one since zero is not one of the choices. Do not use this company, they upsell unnecessary work to be performed of elderly people. A family member was quoted $16,000 for a leak in front yard and a rattling/humming pipe in her master bathroom. Their technician who had received a $2700 down payment and was going to begin work the next morning. I called the technician and questioned him on the and the work that was to be performed. I was told there's a leak and pipes are rattling in the master bathroom and the sheet rock had to be removed and new piping put in the wall. I was told to repair the leak in the front yard. The supply line to the home had to be replaced which breaking the concrete walkway and fixing the water meter. I informed the technician to cancel his morning appointment until I was able to assess the situation. Upon inspection, there was a broken PVC fitting that was above ground leading into the home, we have been unable to find any leak that was supposedly in the wall rattling of the pipe toilet tank float. After a visit to the and spending a total of $30 for the parts and PVC glue all the issues were resolved within a half hour. We had contacted the companies office manager who is very helpful and we will get the total $2700 down payment back. However, do not trust this company, and get a second or third opinion, they take advantage of elderly homeowners. read more

I hate doing this as I am a small business owner myself, but poor service is poor service, especially when services rendered were not what I was told was going to take place. During the last cold snap, one of my outdoor faucets split open and water was going everywhere. Called Texas quality plumbing and asked for an estimate on what it would cost to be repaired. A representative of the company came out the next day and estimated that around $$$ to replace the faucet and pipe that had failed. No problem. Now, it also appeared that I had a leak in an outside wall as well. He couldn't pinpoint exactly where the leak was, and that in order to find the leak and fix it, it would require sheetrock work and repairs to the plumbing. Sure, I get it. Estimate was $$$$ for all of it. They required a 50% deposit down to schedule the repair. Ok. Paid them 1/2 of the $$$$ on my CC and was scheduled for the next day for the repairs to take place. Two plumbers from them showed up next day. Found the leak on the outside faucet and made repairs to it. Again, no problem with this. What is the problem is now going to come to light. The "leak" in my outside wall was mistaken and there was no leak in my wall. GREAT! So, how much of my $$$$ am I gonna get back? He didn't know. Now this is where this gets really strange. Plumber said that he had found another faucet that had a small drip on the side of my house where I have my cutoff valve. I told him i was aware of it and wasn't concerned about it. That apparently didn't matter as that faucet was replaced as well, even though I did not authorize it. So, without so much as a thank you or leaving me an itemized receipt with an adjusted billing for services rendered, these guys just left. I had signed an Ipad the day before for my estimate to be scheduled and for $$$$ to be put on my CC. I assumed (I know, never assume) that i would be reimbursed for the amount of funds not needed for this repair. Several days go by and I dont see anything on my CC statement nor do i get an email or a phone call. So I call them. I talked to someone who handles reimbursements and was assured that she would look into the work that had been performed and would adjust the bill accordingly. Well its been three weeks since that conversation and I have yet to receive an adjusted statement or an explanation as to why a repair that was estimated to be at $$$ became $$$$? I called several times during these three weeks and I never have received a phone call back. I do not like doing this, I truly don't. Charging me for something that was scheduled to be done but proved to not be warranted and not reimbursing me for services not rendered is not how customers should be treated. It's my fault for thinking that this would all be taken care of in a few days after the repairs were completed. My bad. I can assure you that I will not make that mistake again in any transaction involving work on my home. I expected professional service, which I did get, to certain degree. GREAT job on the plumbing fixtures under my sink. HORRIBLE job on the 'install' of my dishwasher. This was a management issue (the technicians were very nice but over tasked...). My dishwasher is tipping forward when I open it...it was not seated into the area where the old one was removed from...parts were left out...they turned on the system and left packing material/tape affixed racks. System ran non-stop for over 8 hours (should have waited to make sure it stopped from their 'test' cycle)...and after turning it off the water was still rushing in. But no worries...the plumbing fixture worked like a charm! (gotta take the wins where I can get them at this point...). :) Now I am out what I paid for the installation...will have to call Lowes to make sure it's installed properly. read more

They contract with homserve. I tell them the stem is leaking and when I turn the kitchen faucet and bathtub faucet to hot water the pressure drops drastically. I walked Josue over to the bathroom and turned the faucet on in the tub. The stem leaked and when I turned it all the way to hot the pressure dropped. He says it's the interior plumbing that needs to be replaced because Houston has hard water and all of the minerals (which he started naming "like magnesium and phosphorus") mixing with the hot water causes scaling. I have interior coverage with home serve and it is covered (scaling over time can cause a complete blockage) per home serves interior coverage copied straight from their contract if you put in 77029 as the area code. What is a Covered Repair? Repair or replacement of the following inside Your Home, for which You have sole responsibility, which is damaged due to normal wear and tear: * The partially or permanently blocked or leaking System pipes that carry fresh water and wastewater Like I said I turn the tub faucet on along with the bathroom sink on so he can see the dramatic difference. He says that the interior plumbing needs to be replaced. A lot of older homes have galvanized pipes and over time scaling happens. Josue says let me go out to my van and speak with homserve to try and get it covered. Home serve calls me and says that the valve is a fixture, and it isn't covered. I'm like huh (the girl with home serve is named Nika and she had a very bad attitude) I said we didn't talk about him replacing the valve. I said the stem was leaking and he said the interior pipes needs to be replaced. She then states that he didn't say anything about the interior pipes. Josue is still sitting in his van. At this point I have an extra device and I am recording this entire conversation because I knew it was going to be some BS and if you are wondering Texas has a one-party law and I consented to being recorded, look it up! I asked him did he tell her about the interior plumbing needing to be replaced. He said "yeah I mentioned it but like I told you home serve won't cover it because you still have pretty good pressure. the only time I have seen them cover it is when there was a complete blockage." then Nika says "that there has to be below 30psi in two or more fixtures open in order for it to be considered low water pressure. She said that my water pressure is measuring 50 psi with two or more fixtures open and that's why home serve is not covering." I asked her how she knew it was 50 psi when he never gauged the water. I had to go outside an ask him to gauge the water. I kid you not I am being told two different things from Josue who has totally changed his story and Nika the idiot with a bad attitude. He never checks the pressure in my home. I tell him to come back inside and check the pressure. he says ok ill come back in and check the pressure. He never comes back in. I start recording him sitting in his freakin van. I go back outside cause home serve tries to call me again. I answer it but don't hear anything then they hang up and don't try to call again. Like I said I am recording. I go ask him what is he doing because he never came back in the house, and he never gauged the water pressure. he says yes, I did I have the pictures. I said show me. he placed a gauge on the outside valve infront of my home and says that it is registering 60 psi. When I checked my audio recording Nika said my psi was registering 50 now Josue says its 60. I asked him why he didn't gauge the pressure in my actual home on one of the fixtures because that's what Nika said. There is a character limit on this, but I have Nika and Josue on recording. Very unprofessional, bad business on home serve and Texas Quality Plumbing. This business can contact me if they want to listen to the audio. Josue didn't check any of the fixtures in the house. I turned the water on in the shower and the bathroom faucet. that's as far as his "inspection" went. I called homeserve to let them know they are sending out another plumber. i dont think I can attach the audio but I would if I could. I had a poor experience using this business to fix my hot water heater in July and August 2022. We have a fairly new and common Noritz tankless hot water heater which stopped working in mid-July. I went with the fix proposed by them, spent over $1,000 doing so. They have been out 5 times since(hot water has been intermittently on and off since then), a few different technicians- and no one has been able to figure out why their repair can't fix the problem. The office manager at TQP also has been hard to get a hold of and doesn't always return calls. Finally I called another company this week. Their technician figured out the problem within an hour or so - it was a faulty valve not the sensor they replaced. Furthermore, the other company arranged to get my parts replaced under the warranty, which TQP didn't tell me was at least an option. I will not be using them again. read more

We hired Texas Quality Plumbing to install an undermount sink as our previous granite composite sink was cracked. Day 1-first person they sent said the new sink would work but it was a 2 man job and he would return another day with an extra person. Day 2- 2 workers showed up and attached it to the countertop but said he would have to return another day to hook up all of the pipes under the sink. We agreed on a time a few days later. I called there office to confirm the time of 3:00-5:00 pm. After he left we saw that he had chipped the granite close to the faucet. I have pictures from when I was looking for a matching sink to prove that it wasn't like this before. He also left a paper towel to catch any water drips around the line that comes from my HVAC system which drains into the sink drain. Needless to say that the water started flowing unto the floor a few hours later. A good thing we were home. Day 3- The plumber texted he was on his way at 1:00pm. I called the office and they apologized for the time mix up. She said your appt. is 3-5 and we will call you 30 min. in advance. At 4:00 they called to tell me the plumber was at my house. It took me 30 min. to get home. This plumber, not the same as the 1st or 2nd guy, said the sink didn't really fit but he would try to make it work. After 1 1/2 hours he said he would need to come back another day to hook up the drain pipes, he couldn't say when. After I called their office he said he would come at 8 AM tomorrow. HomeServe, CenterPoint affiliation, contacted TQP to checkup on a water leak in my front lawn. Instead of sending a their Master Plumber to inspect, they sent an employee to dig up the lawn to locate water leak. The digger told me that water leak was dipper in the ground. So, they sent two employee to dig up the yard searching water pipes. They would show up every other day for about 3 week. During this period, the plumber said, problem was the connection between our house water and meter water connection. So, it cost me $720.00 for the replacement of that connection, about 5-6 feet in length. Water leak still continue, so they sent the Master Plumbing, he said the water leak was not from our house and for me to contact Houston Water Management. A plumber from HWM confirmed that leak was from city water pipe and not from our house. Bottom line; I paid $720.00 for plumbing job that was not necessary and if the Master Plumber had done the inspection in the first place, we would not have a bed issues the plumbing company is not willing to reimbursement for partial refund. My pilot went out on my hot water heater so I called this plumbing company because of the reviews on Yelp. They sent over two young hispanic men, one did not speak English, but he's the one that did all of the looking around and the other guy just interpreted for him. He said that he tried to light the pilot and it would not light, he said he bled the gas line and it would not light so they said that I need to replace the gas valve. I then called the warranty company for the water heater and they mailed the parts over. This plumbing company wanted to charge me $490 to replace the gas valve. Because the cost was so high and my water heater is only 2.5 yrs old I called Roto-Rooter for a second opinion, when the tech from Roto-Rooter got here he lit the pilot and that was it. Nothing needed to be replaced. I believe TX Plumbing company tried to stick it to me, nothing was wrong with my water heater the young plumbers they sent were either inexperienced which was not hard to believe or tried to make some extra cash. Whatever the case, I thank the Lord that there are other options out there. I did call the company to tell them the situation because they charged me $59 for service fee to come out and $10 for their Kindle fee. I asked for a reimbursement bec of the misdiagnosis and trouble they put me through, the manager never called me back. I don't know who would want to work with such a company. read more

Leaves tools behind on jobs and fails to hook up drain lines. We had to call up another company to finish their job. Poor service.

We received the service through the HomeServe insurance through CenterPoint Energy, and the plumber came out and did a great, effectively and fast repair of the gas leak. We were very impressed with the work and how fast they finished the work. It was actually done in a few hours and should have been a seemless transition to obtain a final inspection to set our gas meter again. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. The plumber insisted we needed to pay @$1,500.00 additional repairs in order to start the transition to request a final inspection. Luckily, I'm a former CenterPoint Energy employee and was able to confirm that most of the repairs listed in the estimate were bogus. I immediately called the city and HomeServe to get guidance and they were able to tell me the plumber has an obligation to file the permits and final inspection regardless of the status of any other repairs they seem to think is necessary. I called Texas Quality Plumbing and tried to reason with the inspection department to submit for a final and they would not approve until I agreed to allow them make the repairs and even insisted to a payment plan because I explained I could not afford all the repairs quoted. It was not until I threatened to file a complaint with the state that they agreed to send a final permit inspection to the city, and I could just sign a waiver, decline repairs and pay for any additional trips the city inspector has to make.The city inspector came in and confirmed non of the repairs the plumber quoted were necessary and I only needed to do 4 things to get my green tag and only 1 of those required an actual part which we purchased for less than 25$ and installed it on the water heater. Consumers be aware and ask a lot of questions before agreeing to prices and repairs. Get several quotes and read reviews. The lack of honesty was disappointing because if I had gotten a quote in line with the city inspector, I would have been happy to give them the job to make the repairs. Nonetheless, they delayed my inspection for being dishonest, and I had to continue to take care of essential needs like purchasing food, taking showers, and cooking meals with family members . I will file a complaint with the state because of the delay. I was held hostage to their greed. read more
