Couldn't figure out the issue with my car despite having it for 4 days. Since there are no Uber's or Taxi's out there and it's 120 miles to El Paso, had to get a ride from his uncle or someone like that to take me to the El Paso airport where I could get a rental to visit my Dad in Arizona. Think they took full advantage of me and my situation. Tow truck overcharged me for the tow and then Celso with his inability to fix my car. Ended up selling car to him and off course he didn't fully pay me once he got the title. So yeah, hope this never happened to you. My bad luck to get stuck and then run into these guys.

The check engine, oil, and battery lights were all on. I thought it was the battery, but it wouldn't jump start. About 15 minutes later the car started. I noticed a car shop at Love's and a tow-truck driver suggested I call Steve. He met me at his shop at 7:00 on a Friday night and ran the diagnostics on the car. The battery was good. The check engine light was on due to the EGR valve. Steve didn't think he could have the part until Tuesday. He ended up droving to El Paso on Saturday and picked up the part. He fixed my car on a Saturday evening and I was able to get back on the road Sunday morning. The rest of my trip was uneventful. I am so grateful that I crossed paths with him. We called and told him we were exactly 15 minutes away, and he said to call back when we were there and he'd come down. So we called when we arrived and he said he'd be there in 5-- which is exactly why we called with an exact ETA. Anyway, we agreed that he would go to the warehouse to get the tires we needed while we went to the ATM (place is cash only) and we would all meet back at the shop. After 20 minutes of waiting back at the shop, he called and asked if we still wants the tires. We were confused because the arrangement had been pretty clear and simple. But eventually, we did eventually end up with what we needed. Tires are a little expensive but worth it when you blow out a tire in the middle of nowhere. The name A&L is painted on his truck and shows up at the correct spot on Apple maps, but the actual shop is named "Juan's Auto Repair 2" so don't miss it when you drive by.

Blew an idler pulley bearing at midnight 44 miles west of Van Horn. AAA left us stranded roadside for 6 hours. Finally I'd had enough. Rapid was the second listing. They answered immediately, said they took AAA but had not been contacted by them. They were there within an hour and had my truck on a roll back and my camper hooked up to the same rig AND us at a shop in another hour. The idler pulley wasn't available even at NAPA. Their guy took it off HIS truck and got us rolling. I can not say enough about Rapid and their suggested mechanic. This is what America is about and I couldn't be prouder of fellow citizens. I'm recommending them to AAA, and will also send info to Good Sam.
