What a fun sweet spot full of classic flavors! Came here after work and was given amazing service. The menu was full of amazing options for even vegetarians like me. Everything was over the top from beginning to end. We were early and surprised our taste buds by some complimentary fried chickpeas since it was before 5pm, due to a scheduled concert at 7pm. We shared a salad which worked well and opened our taste buds to our choices of what turned out to be "pasta treats" we both had. They do not brag about it but all the pastas are either made by them or another local maker of fine pastas (Pasta la Fata) Our server was superb and took exceptional care to see that everything was well timed and satisfactory or above. This might have been easy, since we were the first customers, but within 30 minutes the place was busy and satisfied smiles and comments filled the air. What is odd is that we went there primarily to see the renovation and finishes to the place by a good friend of my son and found it to be perfect for the setting. The food was more than fitting as the basis for his attention to detail. Next time you're in town for a seminar, game, match, court case or on your way between Missouri's two largest cities, stop to eat at the best city in the state - Columbia. What a delicious friendly beautiful space for a late lunch. Shared the antipasto salad served lightly dressed, crisp salad, fresh and plentiful for two. Alex brought the hubby a couple of beers to try. The very good pilsner from New Zealand, only had enough for 2/3 glass (which Alex gifted to a happy husband) then he had the also great brown ale from Civil Life. Chose two pizzas, their sausage and the margarita. That fermented sourdough crust is for the gods!! The bubble crust with the charred bits can hold it's own with a little fold, perfect. Afraggato, cannoli, and spumonis to end this meal. Beautiful windows, minimalist decor. We had a Beautiful day bike riding the Katy Trail and stopping here for a very very nice meal. read more

Stopped in for dinner during Columbia's True False film festival. The atmosphere is warm and casual, very cute bar area. Service was great! Burrata appetizer was amazing, the bread was crispy and sesame flavor paired well with the cheese, honey and prosciutto. Cavatelli seemed handmade and texture was perfect, though the dish itself was a little bland. The eggplant rollatini seemed a little burnt and was just ok. We also ordered the house Sangiovese wine, which came in a casual carafe and was delish for a very reasonable price. Recommend a visit and to order the burrata and house red! read more

What a sweet first experience at one of Columbia's newest spots in town! Given the newness, the wait time was about an hour & a half, so be prepared to nab a drink or snack at another location while you wait (their bar is packed too!). The restaurant itself was small, and sound multiplies here! All of these 'cautions' I assume will subside after the initial high wears off. Outside of these things... Wish I had more photos, but again it was packed, so couldn't. But the interior is BEAUTIFUL! Looks beautiful refurbished, clean, and fitting to the old Italian theme. We were seated at a 'family style' table , which at first was jarring when you're on a date and another couple is directly next to you at the table. But- it ended well, pun intended ;). We were able to swap recommendations and learn about others in our community. Our waitress was also so kind and attentive to us, wish I caught her name! As for the food - hard to rate Italian spots when we've been to Italy , but Endwell was by far the best in town. We got the Antipasti board, which was delicious! Was pleasantly surprised with the portion size here. The cacio e Pepe is one of my favs, and I certainly was not disappointed. Thought about it for days after. A friend and I visited the evening of Friday, Aug. 2, 2024. She put in our names before 6 p.m., and we were quoted a wait of about an hour, which we spent exploring nearby art galleries and shops. To start, we ordered fried chickpeas seasoned with salt and smoked paprika and a burrata appetizer with a panzanella that included fresh tomato, corn, and arugula. The chickpeas were a moreish salty nibble, and the creamy burrata pleased the table. Our server was attentive and kept the meal moving smoothly. For mains, we ordered the mushroom pizza (featuring fontina, balsamic onions, pecorino, and mint) and a fusili dressed with mushrooms, broccolini, onions, ricotta, and parmesan. All was delicious, and we didn't have room for dessert, despite the tempting tiramisu and pistachio-encrusted cannoli we spotted nearby. Next time. Have been trying to go to this restaurant every time we are in town and finally secured a reservation. The place is on the smaller side, but tables not crowded. Staff is friendly and food terrific. The cocktails were exceptional. This is the place for wood fired pizza. The crust was so thin and chewy, salads large enough to split with much left over. Pastas on other tables looked great too. I was a big fan of Endwell until today. The placed served very good food when it opened. It would appear that matters have slipped. First, let me qualify my experience - i have worked in top-notch restaurants in New Orleans, north carolina, Mobile, Alabama, and I owned and operated a mobile kitchen in South Carolina. I also served as the restaurant reviewer for Arizona Food and Life magazine. That behind us, I have been disappointed in the food service at Endwell on my last two visits. Understand, I want success for it. However, the pizza we ordered today was exceptionally greasy, and the 'tuscan' chicken wings were a bomb. Now my first job was at a neighborhood pizza joint many years ago. I learned then that subtely soured cheese can 'break' when fired in the oven. Breaking is a process where oil separates from the product when heated. Toppings like pepperoni can also add to that, but, when I see lakes of grease, I suspect it may be the cause. I pointed this out to our server in the most helpful and friendly way. She was gracious and offered to replace it. Apparently, she alerted the kitchen help who were not pleased, nor were they particularly polite. We were visited by an obviously angered cook in need of explaination. I explained my thoughts politely, and accepted a redo. The pizza was very greasy, once again. I do not intend to return anytime soon. Which is sad, because the pizzas I enjoyed prior to my last two visits were excellent. read more

Loud but most of all pesky. I met an old friend for lunch to catch up. We basically were approached so many times we couldn't enjoy our conversation. They were more interested in turning tables than allowing us to enjoy our lunch. It was only 1 hour and 15 minute lunch but they treated us like it was 2.
