First off, got sat under a speaker and the music was very loud to us. Arriving at the table there was still a booster seat and a ton of trash. We had to ask for the floor to be swept. Meal wise, my wifes steak looked like the tip of the sirloin roast and although medium rare, was very dry. The manager did make it right and replace it. Much more palatable. The BBQ chicken was very moist, succulent and I devoured it. The fries coupled with the house ketchup produced an excessively salty experience. I am usually a big fan of Texas Roadhouse in general and this Killeen location in particular. We went for dinner this past Sunday evening and, to be honest, if this was the first time I had been to this restaurant it would have also been the last time. Our server was inattentive at best and the food would have had to improve to rise to mediocre. I ordered a Ribeye with a baked potato and Caesar Salad. My steak was the worst I have ever had. It was tough almost beyond chewing and tasted as if the cook was protecting it from any seasoning. My dining partner's steak was only lukewarm and also lacked flavor. She also noted that her salad was warm. On the positive side, the rolls were warm and delicious and my potato was hot and dressed as ordered. In summary, poor service, long wait, lousy steak. As others have noted, the noise level adds to the misery of the dining experience. Go for the rolls and potato but steer away from the steaks. Maybe the chicken is a better choice? read more

During my recent visit at this mediocre establishment, i ran in to various problems concerning the service. first and foremost we reserved a table for 8 and specifically requested that it was a table and NOT a booth, but instead we were greeted with a booth with a table as an extension. after this inconvenience they were unable to relocate us to a table. second off, the "sweet teas" were not sweet at all and we had to specify request that it be sweetened again but the effort was futile because it infact was not sweeter. after this they spilled the drinks on the table and on to the rolls. after this i found a super long grey hair in the steak that was also cooked wrong. cherry on top they don't accept military discount. read more

Took my parents over for dinner during a Friday a few days before Mother's Day. We celebrate this way every year to avoid big crowds. My parents don't like big crowds. But this Friday was a decent crowd. I worked this day and as soon as I was done with work, I took advantage of the wait list on the Texas Roadhouse website. It was pretty easy. When I arrived, my parents were already there and I checked in about 20 mins early. In about 15 mins we were told they were ready to seat us. By the time we were seated, we were given their famous bread rolls and cinnamon butter. Absolutely delicious. Our waitress was extremely nice. At first we all ordered prime rib..later were told they didn't have it anymore. We opted to just get the rib eye medium rare. I don't know if it was my mind....it just seems our steaks tastes a whole lot better in Texas. We are familiar with the Texas roadhouse restaurant in other areas, especially back in California where we once lived about two years ago. But I guess I don't recall it being this delicious here in Texas. It was actually pretty good. I actually loved it. The service wasgreat. The environment was nice and our waitress was wonderful. Went to celebrate my son and daughter-in-law's wedding anniversary. I don't recall ever going in the past, but I was excited to try. And by the looks of the parking lot, it's extremely busy and packed at all times. Fully expecting a wait, we were seated immediately. Our server Mariana was very attentive and very professional. She checked on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. All the hype about their rolls and cinnamon butter are exactly what you would expect, hot, fresh with extremely flavorful cinnamon butter. We had the fried pickle appetizer that was also served piping hot with ranch dressing and thin and crispy. Shirley had the double pork chop with baked potato and green beans. Also excellent she said. Jeff had the barbecue chicken with corn and mashed potatoes. I had my absolute favorite, which was the three-piece fried catfish with steak fries and fresh vegetables. The vegetables really were fresh also hot. The fish was delicious, thin and crispy and buttery flavored with a cornmeal crust. All in all was very happy. I think if anything it's a very busy place with plenty of servers to meet your every need. The music was a bit loud, but it's just the way it is. There was nothing on as far as sports for the most part so we were able to listen to music videos, all country music. My Husband had ordered food to go, and at home, the steaks where disgusting so where there fries, I had to go to the hospital, where the doctors said that I had food poisoning. I was in so much Pain. Tonight, the service was extremely bad from staff assigning tables. We were a party of eight, and we were given a time frame of 50-60 minutes. At 60 minutes, Kylee stated that a group was just cashing out, and they're cleaning the table. At 75 minutes, we were again told by Jordan that 3 groups were cashing out and the tables will be ready soon after. We were offered 3 free appetizers of our choice, our server Jason stated the 3 appetizers were already placed by the manager. While explaining, she stated "I was asking a question", in a really condescending tone and walked away. She then sent the waitress back out to deal with me. The waitress was great, but this situation is manager country, not waitress country. So be prepared to add insulting to disappointment if they do miss the mark. Celebrated my bday with my girlfriends last Saturday! They were super busy and we waited for 45 minutes for our table. Someone told us that you can go online and get on their waitlist. As soon as we got seated the service was pretty quick. If you want something intimate, this is not the place to be, it gets pretty loud here. Me & girls tried their frozen margaritas, they were light and be ready to get a brain freeze. I think I'll order on the rocks next time. We all had ribeye and everyone's steak was cook to perfection except for one. She wanted medium and got well done. We hadn't been to TRH in a while and this was by far our best visit in a long time! Our servers name is Dylan (not sure on spelling, he has a beard, glasses and tattoos on his arms). He was very nice and attentive, but not overboard (no one likes being checked on with a mouth full of food every 5 minutes). What really stood out was his generosity and inclusiveness to our kids, not just with us. When bringing a second juice box for our youngest he hid the second one because his kiddos chug it before they get their food (as do ours), we always hide any extra drinks for our kids for that reason. Without asking he brought more apple sauce for our child as well! Hot and fresh rolls each time we received them. Overall, it was outstanding service and great fresh food! I asked the hostess if we could be seated somewhere else that was not as noisy. She rolled her eyes and seated us directly under a loudspeaker. I ate at Texas Roadhouse on July 16th. I had an interesting and finally somewhat infuriating experience. Before we went, their web-site was adverting early-bird specials on Monday until 6:00 p.m. (which is still posted on their website now 3 weeks later). We invited some friends and arrived about 5:05 p.m. We drove about 40 minutes to get to the restaurant. We were seated immediately and I ordered a Martini. The staff was obviously young and inexperienced. I ordered a Sapphire Martini, dirty with olives. After about 10 minutes the waitress brought some drink that was blue with a lemon. I explained that this was not a martini, she said the bartender didn't know how to make a martini and looked it up. I sent it back and she then told me you had to order off of the drink menu. O.K., not a problem I ordered an "Old Fashion" from their menu, which came in another 10 minutes. Again no problem. The waitress came back to take our order a few minutes later as they were quite busy. When we finally ordered it was 5:34 p.m. She told us that we could not have the special as it ended at 5:30 p.m. It is still (3 weeks later) still posted at 6:00 p.m. on their web-site. I asked to speak to the manager since I knew the waitress could not resolve my problem. AT THIS POINT I WAS NOT UPSET OR MAD, MAYBE SLIGHTLY ANNOYED AND SOMEWHAT AMUSED. NOW THE PROBLEM! The manager came over and seemed to have an attitude. Instead of saying "how can I help you, he immediately said "I am here to mediate the problem between you and the waitress". No mediation was necessary as I had no problem with the waitress, the drink, the bartender, or the slow service. I only had a problem being told that I couldn't get the special. I said we only needed to get the special. He kind of ignored this and said that they didn't have Sapphire and I could have had Tanguray. I said that wasn't offered, but the issue was not the drink, it was being told that we couldn't get the special. He continued to explain the issue at the bar, which was not an issue to me. When I brought up the issue about the special, he said "well, I am going to take care of that" leaving me with the impression he was annoyed with me. He did take care of it, but he has no idea how to deal with a customer! NOW I WAS ANNOYED AFTER HAVING TO DEAL WITH A MANAGER WHO HAD NO IDEA ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. The meal was fine, I left a good tip as the issue was not with the waitress or the service. The staff was young and learning and I completely understand. What I don't understand are managers who can't resolve simple customer service issues in a diplomatic manner. I know Texas Road House is a large corporation and this review will probably not even be read, but I am only trying to help you improve your service. read more

Great food and atmosphere had a wonderful time. Our sever Charles did an excellent job watching over our table and all his tables. Spot on service for all of us. Great recommendations in steaks and sides. All steaks were cooked to order and arrived promptly to the table hot and up together. Bone in Rib eye melted like butter as I was eating it. We also had the Dallas Filet with loaded sweet potato. Single grilled Pork Chop was spot on also and not over cooked and dried out. Sirloin steak and a perfect medium rare as ordered. Fried pickle appetizer was wonderful hit to try it. Rolls were to die for that they bring to your table they kept flowing all night long. Treated my friends to an evening out here on my last night of a seven day vacation from Buffalo, New York. It was my way of saying thank you to them for hosting me in their home for the entire week. Dining out during a pandemic can be a challenge. Texas Roadhouse seems to have a very good process going and they make it pretty painless. When you pull into the parking lot there is a person at a podium who asks you if you will be dining in or ordering/picking up takeout. If you tell them you are dining in they take down your name and your phone number and you are instructed to go park and wait until they text you to let you know that your table is ready. Much better process than being handed one of those vibrating buzzer things that everyone and their grandma has been touching! We arrived at 6:30pm or so and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Super reasonable. We were sat and straight away ordered frozen margaritas with Cuervo kickers and ice water all around. As we were waiting for those to come to the table we had time to peruse the menu. When our server came back we ordered steaks and BBQ chicken. I loved every part of my visit.
