Great dinner we went there for our anniversary dinner. This is our go to place for many occasions. As usual we had the Wild West Shrimp as our appetizer which is to die for. We have never been disappointed no matter which restaurant we have eaten at. Now for the main course my wife's favorite is the Flo's Filet and we have it butterflied because she likes it well done. Along with mashed potatoes, and a salad. I had the Renegade Sirloin with the shrimp, Rice pilaf and a salad. I ask for no seasoning on my steak because their seasoning is heavy in salt and not good for HBP. Steak came as requested somewhat asked for Medium and it came out Med Rare. It was good and ate it the way it was. Did not want to send it back and wait while my wife was eating. I also had a bowl of the Lobster chowder and it did not disappoint that is for certain. Now the Salad this was over the top. There is a guy that just makes salads we asked because they were so perfect not a wilted piece of lettuce, all the veggies were perfected also. The bowl when out comes to you is so attractive the way it is set up. This could almost be a meal with the chowder and Wild West Shrimp alone. Went here for an early lunch with friends on a weekday so it wasn't busy. The workers were nice upon greeting. I've been wanting to try this place, so was happy to finally make it out here with good company. The food came out fast and was flavorful for each plate with each bite. I'm not sure if our server was frazzled in working with us because she kept coming back to our table, with a total of 4 times asking what our drink orders were. They weren't very complicated to begin with - a child's chocolate milk, 3 waters, a strawberry lemonade, spiked strawberry lemonade, and patron dragonfruit marg. The second time she came back, this time with a notebook to take our order once again. We repeated it with somewhat less enthusiasm. But then, once she came again for the 3rd time - she brought what looked like 2 Arnold Palmer's with the kid's chocolate milk and 2 waters. At that point we changed one of our drinks and repeated the request for water, since she said she also didn't bother telling the barista to make the alcohol drinks since she wanted confirm yet again with us what our drink order was. She finally got it at that point and the rest of our drinks came shortly after. In the end when we were paying for the bill, a similar forgetfulness? experience occurred. We had to ask for a larger to go box twice until she finally brought it because she kept forgetting whenever she walked past our table. My family and I chose Long Horn steakhouse to eat out as a celebration after the birth of my Daughter whom is 3 months old now and to treat a family member we had visiting us from another country at the time. I was really excited to leave the house and finally feel normal for once and just eat out and enjoy some good food. Unfortunately, the waitress we had by the name of ZOE ruined it for our family. From the moment she approached us she did not bother to introduce herself as our waitress nor did she ask us if we had been there before she went straight to " what are you wanting to drink?" With an ugly attitude. As soon as she spoke up I knew she was either not in the mood or not having a good day. Nevertheless, I let it go. She then left came back and proceeded to ask if we were ready to order in a rude "hurry it up" way. So we began to place our order...... this is where she really pissed me off. My husband placed his order and mind you not his English is not the best. Regardless, he did his best and during this time she interrupted him saying "are you not going to get another side??!" And my husband looked at her confused and responded "ohh I get two sides? I did not know I could" for which she replied yes, I told you so! (very dry/rude, making him feel stupid and embarrassed as if he should already know this). My husband and I both looked at each other confused because she never explained that portion and even if she did she could have said it in a nicer way not in a demeaning way. As a result, I stopped the conversation between them. I asked for her name and asked if we could have someone else take our order and be our waitress as we were no longer happy or comfortable with her . She did not hesitate and immediately said oh yes I'll get Someone else and left..... now my 7 yr old son who was there and witnessed it all unfortunately made a comment " man she was so mean and rude" this is coming from a 7yr old!!!!! Except two work requirements at a Ruth's Cris I haven't set foot in a chain restaurant steak place since 1989 at a Ponderosa. But there were limited options tonight. Imagine my surprise when I found a place where the service from Presley was excellent, the decor while chainy was simple and decent and the ribeye cooked to perfection, flavorful, reasonably tender with great mashed potatoes and a solid side salad with a great raspberry vinaigrette. The restaurant was clean and had a chill vibe, the only tv's are at the bar so if you want to watch a game then you'll have to sit in that area. The restaurant was clean and you could tell that most of the servers worked together to make everything go smoothly. I decided to treat myself today for lunch, so I thought that steak would be great. I don't eat a lot of red meat, but I do enjoy a medium rare steak occasionally. I have to admit that I was terribly disappointed in my rib eye steak that I ordered. I had to send the first one back to the kitchen, it had so much pepper on it that my mouth was burning. This was our first time to eat at a Longhorn Steakhouse. It was recommended to us by our son. As we were leaving our chiropractor he recommended the brisket queso dip. We sat at the bar like we usually do. We were greeted by Pru, The bartender and server. She was delightful and made the whole service a good experience. The brisket queso dip was absolutely amazing. I don't think I've ever had any kind of queso that tasted better. In fact we took some to go. I ordered the ribeye which was cooked perfectly and absolutely incredible. I found myself swiping my finger through the leftover juice on the plate because it tasted so good. My husband's burger was done exactly how he wanted it and he really enjoyed it. If I was going to complain about anything, it would be that the manager on duty today, 1/29/26 came to our server and saddled her with a corporate eight-person food order which took her over 10 minutes to complete. Something he should have done himself. As her tables were being neglected he was offering free lemonade and tea. Pru of course was so sweet and insisted that he was helping her out. Suggesting that his help was needed since she was so backed up. I suggested that if he had been doing the phone call and letting her do her job she might not have been so backed up. Having been in the business for many years and been a bartender/server and manager I know how things are supposed to work. In the middle of lunch no server should be taken away from their station and customers to take a phone order when there's a manager on duty. I was visiting my aunt in the area and she wanted to grab dinner so we stopped in since its one of her favorite places. The overall experience was just okay. We were quickly seated, but it took a long time for us to get service. When we did, our waitress kept forgetting what we requested or would take a long time to come back and check on us. Maybe it was her first time, but we just had a very unwelcoming experience. We started with a queso to share, which I enjoyed. However, it came with just a handful of chips and we had to request more which as I mentioned took forever to get. The food was good, I had a filet mignon, which was just okay. I quickly wished I would have opted for the ribeye. The salad was good and the mac and cheese had to be my favorite. We tried this place for dinner. It was not crowded at all. Our server was definitely rushing wanting to push for the food order as soon as we even sat down. I got salmon, okra and a sweet potato, my mom got a steak and baked potato, my husband got a burger and Mac n cheese and my kid got grilled chicken tenders and fries. The food all tasted good and the bread they bring out is good. The butter was frozen solid and couldn't even be spread easily on the hot bread. Where there was an issue is that 50% off the food of each plate was lukewarm warm at best and only some items hot... Like a lot of it had been sitting there in the kitchen before they put the rest on the plate. Bad kitchen timing. The waitress could barely be seen until it was time to pay. She would very quickly walk past the table or ask if we were okay as she was continuing walking. It did take a while to get food out from the kitchen especially considering they were slow as far as business. The food all did taste good. My mom's filet had some gristle that was inedible. It was pricey at dinner, perhaps overpriced if we factor in the quality of what was served and the service. The dining room has dim lighting, but plenty enough to see at the booth we were seated at. It was decently clean inside. We would consider giving one more chance. Another thought is that they have a location of this place in DFW that has higher standards held- great service and hot food. It almost seems as though Temple, in general, has really low expectations and standards for a lot of things. Restaurants and stores are either junky and run down or have poor service or food or some combination of those. Even Belton has more improved stores and restaurants. Here's the low-down: - Skip the Delmonico Steak. Lack of the "wow factor' and for $34 and it was underwhelming. Very disappointing and I won't get this again. - The Chicken Wings here have always been good. Large, meaty, good seasoning, a must get. Bama DC loved the wingies. - Salmon was good but portions don't match the premium price. It's a $12 dish but they charge you $17. - Bread is free and it is good. Yes you must carb up here. - Service has always been attentive and good here. Sometimes slow to get your food but good service. On the 2nd visit the Ribeye was good. My family tried this place for a birthday celebration last year. Service was not great and our food was not entirely correct. The steaks were stringy and tough. Decided to try a takeout order today. I was told to go sit at the bar, where I was promptly ignored by the guy behind the bar, who was chatting with two servers. I wasn't greeted until about the 5 minute mark, when the actual bartender came on shift, I guess. Literally the other three never said "hi", "go away" or nothing. We ordered take out yesterday (Valentine's Day) steak and lobster. We did wait over an hour and half (not a problem) and I completely understand that we were not only ordering on Valentine's Day but also during a staffing shortage crisis. But our order was 20 minutes late. No updates, no notifications, nothing about it being delayed. We ordered 2 of the same thing- steak and lobster. The lobster was fantastic (too much pepper) but fantastic! The steak however was not cooked properly (see pictures) 2 medium rares and 2 complete different steaks. Bread- delicious ! Salads- fresh ! The ambiance is very relaxing rustic with a comfortable vibe. When you walk in you are immediately greeted by the hostess. Our wait time was less than 10 minutes. We have frequented here for many years! The last couple times have not been great but this was the nail in the coffin. The server was incredibly slow and not attentive. Extremely poor time management even with 2 hours before closing. We could barely get refills, had to ask for some sauce for our appetizer twice and we didn't even end up getting it until we were already done with our meals. Husband's steak was so thin, it has NEVER been like that. And a bad cut at that. Overall terrible experience and I can say we really probably won't be back. Needless to say a steakhouse for a vegetarian is pretty much hopeless at best but it was where the others wanted to go. From sit down to ordering there was a 10 minute wait before a waitstaff came over and said , "I just clocked in. I guess you are my table." Another 5 minutes bread arrived at the table. 10 minutes went by and the staff brought our tea and water. I was one hour before my dinner salad came to the table. We finally got the checked paid after a total of 90 minutes after sitting down. The waitstaff tried but were out of salmon and drinks kind of got filled. The overall problem was poor management.
