Great food and service. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The dining room is large. I had dinner with my family. I had the Chicken Fried Steak with Fries and a Side salad. My daughter had The Grilled Chicken with Swiss Cheese and Mushrooms with Buttered Potatoes! My oldest Grandson had the Grilled Chicken with sautéed Jalapeños and Buttered Potatoes. My middle Grandson had the Chicken Fried Sandwich with Fries! And My youngest Grandson had The BELTON TIGER BURGER with Fries. The food was fresh a hot. The food tasted good. Nice, big restaurant with table service vs the more common cafeteria style service you find in many other BBQ restaurants. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Only downside was the BBQ. Overall pretty bland without much smokiness to it at all. I had the double meat plate with turkey and jalapeno sausage with pinto beans and green beans on the side. Here's a breakdown: Turkey - Typically I find that turkey and chicken do a good job of soaking in the smokey flavor of a BBQ but this turkey, while good, did not have much of a BBQ flavor. Simply tasted like an oven roasted turkey. Jalapeno and cheese sausage - It's evident there was jalapeno in the sausage because I could clearly see it, however, there was virtually no jalapeno flavor. There was definitely a cheese flavor, but often times the cheese flavor was stronger than the sausage flavor. Pinto beans & green beens - Both were generally bland without much flavor. I don't know for certain, but I wonder if the meat isn't prepared elsewhere and then shipped in for the restaurant to heat up as needed. read more

Food servings are very small for the chicken dishes we ordered, flavor was just okay. Waitress was nice, but seemed overly busy like they were understaffed for a Friday night. It was so loud and echoey I couldn't hear my family talking to me. They were out of baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, and only had a small serving of butter potato's...uh...we wanted potatoes besides French fries, that's half your vegetable list. Didn't get a picture of one of the chicken dish cuz of how puny it was. We even ordered the 3 meat bbq plate to go since the puny chicken plate wasn't enough to fill my son up, and it only had like half a sausage link, 2 slices of brisket, and 3 small slices of the tri tip. My wife ordered 2, 2 meat plates, and the cashier said $37.00. My wife said that doesn't sound right. The price on-line (even Yelp) says $8.75 a plate. He said that's not our website that's Googles. WHAT? so Google just makes up prices for your food that you don't honor . Why would a business allow that to happen.? Let me start by saying, I am a faithful member of the melanin community. With that stated, the food was prepared properly (concerning being edible). The experience with staff was acceptable. BUT..... Unless you're on high blood pressure medication, this is not the place for you. Every single item we ordered, significantly lacked seasoning. I do completely understand, this is a personal preference. The foreshadowing concerning the lack of seasoning was prevalent, as I noticed a strong presence of senior citizens. You might ask, will I return? The answer is, absolutely not for dining in. I might consider the to-go option, bring it home, and put some slap ya mama on EVERYTHING!!!! We stopped in here for lunch and it was pretty hopping. It's located in a sort of open mall area and there is lots of parking so no issues there. We came inside and it was busy but we were seated right away. The server took our orders pretty quickly so there were no issues there. The food came out without any issuse and honestly it was really good. The brisket was moist, the turkey was moist as well if not a bit too peppery on the skin but I just cut it off. The fries were freshly fried up so all in all it was a good meal and I'd come back here again. The bathrooms aren't quite obvious but I was able to find them. read more

I have tried this establishment once before, and it hasn't improved at all. I ordered the two meat plate with jalapeno and cheddar sausage, and smoked turkey with green beans and pinto beans. The smoked turkey was completely bone dry, but the flavor was not too bad, the green beans were obviously from a can and just had bacon and some onion added to it with no flavor from either. The pinto beans were watery, had no flavor and even with salt and pepper, plus hot sauce, it had no flavor at all. The only plus of the meal was the jalapeno and cheddar sausage and the unsweetened tea. Please, save your money and tastebuds and go elsewhere for your bbq meal. read more

Claire Mikeskas is is the model of how good service should be. The wait staff is 1000% amazing. Even on that super busy Sunday after church lunch rush... Everyone kept their cool and things ran very smoothly. Kudos to the staff! The brisket is always tasty and flavorful. I particularly love the chicken fried steak. You get a lot of meat and not a lot of breading. I only wish that they offered more vegetable choices. The green beans are extremely salty. And for those of us that can't have a lot of sodium, that doesn't leave a lot of options for a hearty vegetable to accompany your meal. Maybe corn on the cob or carrots ? Our family has been back several times and always enjoy trying different things on the menu. But seriously, you can't go wrong with the brisket plate or the chicken fried steak. read more

My wife and I have eaten here fairly regularly for nearly a year, and have never experienced any of what others have complained about. The staff has always been pleasant, the place is always clean, and the food is good. Clem's prices are very fair compared to other Bar-B-Q establishments in the area, and when you leave you don't smell like you've been hovering over an open pit. I went to for the fish since it's Good Friday. I got there at 8:30 p.m. Order and then all of a sudden then are picking up the chair and sweeping. I asked what time do you close. 9 p.m. on a Friday night, yes every night accept 4 p.m. on Sunday. I asked for rolls and was told we don't have any, they got the last ones. Then I heard them tell the lady we do not have any sweet tea. When they brought out my dinner I asked for the hush puppies, she said we haven't had any since Tuesday. You know places run out. Paid $20 for 1/2 pound of extremely dry and tough brisket, 1/4 pound of okay ribs, and bland Mac and cheese... Go to miller's down the road and save yourself the trouble of paying for sub par BBQ. Mikeska's in Belton has a good wait staff but their food is not the best. Tonight for the 5th straight time they were out of baked potatoes. They were also out of ranch dressing and broccoli. Their fish is usually fair but tonight is was so greasy and strong neither my wife nor I couldn't eat it. My wife's salad had more cheese and than lettuce. Previously when we ordered their 1/4 lbs sliced BBQ plate we got more fat than meat. There is no management on site to complain to.
