The process stretched out over time, including a canceled appointment, and ultimately the job was not completed by Kelly Rush. His choice. He didn't charge me, but what a waste of time. While this approach may work for customers who prefer a full replacement of a thermostat plus exterior wiring (without pinpointing the main issue first). It was not a good fit for my situation, where I was looking for a more narrowed step-by-step diagnostic process. He quoted me 425.00 for a thermostat and exterior rewire. I did not get the choice to make sure my thermostat was even faulty. For context, I was open to upgrading the thermostat, but my primary goal was to correct what appeared to be a previous installer's improper wiring on the exterior of a new Mastercool 6410 unit. I was called the warranty company on a Saturday and I knew not to expect a call until Monday since they likely don't work weekends. Unfortunately, I didn't get a call until Tuesday and this normally would cause me to deduct a star or two, but let me tell you why I didn't. The repairman Lorenzo called on Tuesday and came within an hour just as he said he would. We all know how rare that can be. It's often my experience someone will only give you a window timeframe and often not even abide by that. For him to call and agree to be here at an exact time and actually show up surprised me. Upon arrival, Lorenzo was able to quickly determine the motor on one of my AC's was blown. He immediately got on the phone and located the part for me. Turns out, it had to come from out of state, but he assured me it would be here the next day. Sure enough, it was and Lorenzo was back within 24 hours to install it. Now the reason I am giving an extra star is because he was kind enough to call me a couple hours later to verify the repair was successful and my house has cooled down. He also provided me with a pool service referral because he noticed my green pool was in desperate need of service. My unreliable pool guy whom I had to terminate is a whole other fiasco! Cesar went to the house that afternoon and it turned out that the handyman had not removed the knockout on the garbage disposal before hooking up the dishwasher - it does say to do that on a sticker in big red letters, that you have to remove to install it. At any rate, if we had been in town, I would have installed it myself. The water leak turned out to be due to the water heater element overheating as it was at the end of its life cycle. Not mad-it was the original one and held up for 15 years. Service call was $75, Cesar allowed me to purchase the gas water heater from Lowe's (I found a $50 off coupon and was able to apply it to a sale item) and he went to pick it up. He did give me a military discount on the labor which took the total from $410 to $320. He also installed a drain pan at no additional cost. I found the right one on amazon, but it was on back order and would not have arrived in time for the installation. Our tenant called a couple of weeks ago to tell me that El Paso Water had contacted her because of unusually high water consumption, which pointed to a leak. It was a nobrainer for me to call Cesar. He thoroughly investigated all possibilities. He fine-tuned some minor water wasters. The major culprit turned out to be the plumbing for the pool equipment. The total with military discount was $720, which included the 2 days he spent looking for and then fixing the leak, as well as replacing the cartridge in the master bath shower as it was defective and the temp could no longer be adjusted. I thought this was more than reasonable as I was very much worried that it would be sky high. While the nature of this business dictates by appointment only, Cesar is very responsive and ALWAYS calls back if he cannot answer the phone and you leave a message. He also works with you and sends photos and the invoice if you cannot be there in person. I find his positive customer service attitude very refreshing in an area where we have been often left high and dry waiting on someone to get back to us or making appointments and then not showing up.
