I worked for TEMC for 4 years off and on until I finally left for good in July 2014. Please whoever reads this, disregards David D's comment/review. They do not pay for fuel surcharges and you do not average $1000 a week if you're a driver. I was told that same thing when I first got hired and found out over time that it was a lie. The most I've ever gotten in one week was somewhere in the $400-$500 range (and that is with 2 different raises AND working monday-saturday). The final straw for me was when I was given 3 different orders to go to San Antonio (which was my day off) would all total (due to past experiences) would average roughly $300 all total. When I checked my paystub, they only paid me $50. I spent more on gas just because I wanted the extra money on my day off. I put in my two weeks after that and left with no regrets. People come and go because they overwork their drivers and they take on more work than they can handle. I did meet and work with some really nice people but it wasn't worth it in the long run. Yes, this is an independant contractor position so you will be spending a lot of money on your car (gas, maintenance, etc). It got to the point to where I had to get a second job just to pay bills. The most I've ever got for one order was $100 but please be prepared to have orders that cost literally $0.00. This is a 1099 position that usually pays once a month. When I didn't receive my pay check on time, I called Accounts Payable (6-7 times), and emailed at least 3 times before I finally got to speak to Michelle, after sending a threatening email. Michelle said, since I worked in Austin, we get paid every 2 weeks. First time I heard that! During hiring process, it was once s month which is normal for contract work. I was suppose to be paid by the 19th, completing my 1 month. No check! They told me, "it was just the 21st" like no big deal! They sent a little over $400 for 2 weeks. I was told I would make between $500-$600 week! I spent $300 for that month on gas! I never received a rate sheet for pick ups/deliveries as promised. Since Texmaster hasn't sent my check, it has caused me to be late on my scheduled payments. I'll be seeking liquid damages. It is now July 8th, and I've not been paid! I have left emails and have called, no response. So....does this seem to be a scam? Unethical? Unprofessional? You can drive all over the Austin area, including Leander, SanAntonio and Marble Falls, spend your gas money, wear and tear on your vehicle to be treated this way! So I need some extra money and was on indeed looking for work and when this BS company call. The ABSOLUTE worst mistake. They don't pay you they lied to the drivers and the clients. You spend your money to do their jobs and are not reimbursed for it. Text the Vice President who never responded and emailed the President of the company and it seems he dont give a damn either. I started working for this company in San Antonio this past June.. I worked 3 or 4 days... No one could tell me how much I was making. I worked 12 hours one day and I spent $50 on gas. It took the 2 weeks to find out I made $95 for that day... The guy that hired me named Jon got very mad when I continued to ask him my pay estimation . I sent textes and emails and he got frustrated as did I... A dispatcher for the company finally gave me the info. That I needed to see my earnings(just under $200) but they haven't sent me my check yet or let me know how to submit my direct deposit info. I finally sent thier Human Resources department an E-mail this past Thur 7-25-19. So now I'm waiting... After reading these reviews I'm not expecting much from this SCAM Company read more

Do not work for this company! First, they will guarantee you will be kept busy and make a good living and will be dedicated driver in your side of town. In reality, you are sent from one side of the city to the other and might get two or three runs a day which doesn't even cover the cost of gas. Then they will hold your check for over 30 daysf you quit working for them. Their excuse is that they have to "verify" that their customers are happy with the deliveries you made. So, there is no guarantee you will even be paid, ever. I'm still waiting to be paid for some July and early August runs and today is September 3rd. read more

They continually change drivers because no one wants to work for them. The drivers are nice but unfortunately after the first paycheck they leave. I ran into one driver again he said they actually paid him about 20 cents a mile based on the commission and he was losing money. The experienced drivers who do Stay are extremely rude at pickup. It's not a good company to work for and the drivers are a reflection of it. read more

I worked for a few weeks there and quite as the pay was too small. The first check I got for 36 hours on the job was about $211. and that check bounced! I had a shift of 12 hours a day for 4 days and drove about 800 to 1000 miles total a week there. My best day was about $92. but when I deduct 15c. a mile for gas, tires and maintenance I make about $5. an hour. But I have yet to get a cent from them as the check bounced. They are nice enough . It might be a good place to be in case you want to see the city all around but be prepared to loose money! read more

Horrible company to work for. Use you up until your broke and tell you it's your fault. Worked 50 hours a week only to be broke and left on read 2 days before christmas. as many other reviewers have said they dont pay you. if you want to work for free then go ahead. never received a penny from them. they owe me around $350.00 and i never saw a penny of that money. many emails sent and tons of phone calls to michelle in accounting and her lady boss marion. they would promise to pay me and never got paid. they actually got mad that i wanted to be paid and marion said that michelle is very busy and have errands to run. how unprofessional is that! i worked for them august to september of 2019. filed with labor wages dept but they said because i am a 1099 worker i have to take them to court. so i will be filing a claim in small claims court. they get away with not paying people because people most likely dont sue them. so its a win win for them and they can continue to get people to work for them and not pay them. when one person quits after realising they dont get paid they just hire the next person and repeat the process. and they actually can sleep at night doing this to people. how sad!!!! unfortunately i answered their ad on craigslist and forgot to google them before i accepted the job. after trying to get paid i googled them and found out that its a practice for them to not pay people. fortunately during that month of working for them i only worked about four or 5 half days and refused to work after i saw that they werent paying me. now i google any company im considering for employment to read reviews. read more
