(That is, unless you're throwing out bricks or cement, in which case it's by weight.) I watched them really work at fitting all this loose material into the smallest space possible. I've used these folks multiple times. The last two times -- including today -- were not satisfactory. On the previous visit they hauled off rare history books rather than the junk I asked them to, but figured .. ok, mistakes happen .. so used them again today. The price on the website is NOT what I was charged; the price change was NOT gone over before the work started. I pointed that out to the management, response was "website hasn't been updated". I truly cannot say enough good things about this company and the guys that work for them. We just bought a fixer-upper house and ripped up all the carpeting and padding (about 1500 sq. ft.). The previous owners also left a giant pile of garbage in the garage much of which was thrown all over the floor (including broken glass). The owner, Steve, was incredibly helpful. Both Frank and Austin arrived promptly the day we needed them and they were unbelievably polite and professional. Since they charge by the truck load, they determine about how much stuff you have and give you an estimate right there. After packing the truck tight, they CLEANED AND SWEPT OUR GARAGE!! OMG.. it's spotless!! (I hope to upload pix) More importantly, after completing the job, they asked "since we're here, do you need help with anything else?" - (at no extra charge!!!) As it turned out, we were simultaneously selling and dismantling the kitchen cabinets and needed help loading them onto another truck. Without complaint or hesitation they immediately helped out. Unbelievably rude "Manager" of the company. I'm on a walker due to a car accident and asked if they could open a couple of boxes and take out the heavy appliances for me. Chris, the so-called manager said no, we don't do that. When I responded the guys from Junk Busters did it last time he said they were probably just being nice. His words to me were, "I'm a manager and I'm telling you no." Had I known about this, then I would have paid extra to have some help opening boxes. I'm stunned that an employee would talk to a paying customer like this, especially a customer that has used their services before and planned to again. So, my advice is to find another company that doesn't have a manager who acts like he's doing you a favor by picking up your things. read more

God.... I HATE moving. I also detest consolidating. Getting rid of junk is the pits, too. But luckily for us, there's a company called Junk Busters USA that'll show up to your home, load up their massive truck with all your stuff, and haul it away. It's. That. Easy. Their prices are plainly displayed on their website in 1/8, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4 and whole truck denominations. I had what looked like a ton of stuff, but they managed to squeeze it into 1/3 of the truck ($269 not including a $15 discount if you book on their site). What does 1/3 of a truck look like in terms of junk? A queen-size mattress, bed frame, large 'old-school' TV, an entertainment center, a huge 2-piece sectional sofa (R.I.P, Colleen C's old couch), an old suitcase, and more than a dozen bags/boxes of everything from old dishes to a busted vacuum cleaner. Definitely worth it in my book, especially considering I couldn't lift the coach or bed even if I did have access to a large enough dumpster! The JB gentlemen are thorough, efficient and hardly made a sound as I continued to work... when they were finished, I was able to pay via credit card which I really appreciated. I'd definitely use this local business again but happily, I won't need to since I've been freed of all my unwanted belongings. Thanks, guys! read more

Major Safety Complaint: The man that showed up recruited my 13 year old son to help him move a 400 pound broken appliance out of the house and load it in his trailer. This is dangerous and unprofessional. Period. As a parent, I can't figure out the logic of asking a child to help move a 400 pound appliance - that is what we paid Junk Busters to do for us. When we moved from Austin to Round Rock we had a lot of junk to get rid of including a decayed big old dog house in the back yard. Since they charge by the linear foot of trash in the truck I was worried it would be expensive because the dog house was big. These guys were great; they used a big hammer to break the dog house into pieces so the space on the truck was minimal. Great work guys. They got rid of all my junk and the cost was very reasonable. Highly recommended if you have junk you want to get rid of. Would I use them again, yes, my wife has accumulated a lot of new junk! Sometimes I think my wife may be a hoarder! We had an old shed, the world's biggest armoir, work stuff, a kid's playground set with termites, a bar, and other items that were of no value but needed to be hauled away and they were pretty amazing what they packed in that truck in no time and could lift. Very professional as well but the best part was there was one item that we realized needed to go at the last minute but was dangerous for 2 men to pick up and they promised to return on Monday with more men. I had already paid and agreed the job was done but good as their word, they showed back up on Monday and hauled that thing away as promised. Very nice and professional as well. Very friendly guys, well spoken, happy to help. I would totally use them again. Well worth the price. No way could we have hauled this stuff. read more

I was needing my garage cleared out prior to my home sale closing. After one rep told me they didn't serve Manor and no reply to my message saying I was a prior customer, a Yelp post about it elicited a response from another rep saying there was a mix-up and Manor was still in their service area. An appointment was scheduled for later in the week. The team that arrived was efficient, professional, and extremely helpful. They asked about items in my garage before loading them up, and took care with items they deemed suitable for donation. After they finished, the gents even swept up my garage. Five stars for the gentlemen that did the actual work! Minus one star overall, for the customer service mix-up at the start of the scheduling. But overall, I do recommend them, and in the event I need junk hauled away again, I'll give them a call. read more

JunkBusters is absolutely fantastic. I had some special requests and less than 24 hours' notice to get some things picked up and moved across town because of a bad work situation, as well as a pretty normal garage cleanout - and a chest freezer that had accidentally gotten unplugged, yikes. The office staff worked everything out for me and got me a team for the next morning. Wow! The team was outstanding. Chandler and Jake were super professional, efficient, hardworking, and just nice as pie. Since I had special requests and it was hard to tell at first glance how much of the stuff in my garage needed to be hauled, they were clear that the estimate might change. Chandler was very careful to update me on the charges I was accruing and to check with me before continuing to something that would cost more. But most of all, their customer service is amazing. Some of my junk had some drama attached to it, and I was upset. These two guys could not have been sweeter or more patient as I made decisions to jettison or keep things. We used Junk Busters for the first time in August 2018 to get our house ready to put on the market. They showed up on time and were very efficient in loading up the truck. The price is a bit high, but for the convenience of not having to rent a uHaul or truck and haul it yourself, it is well worth the price. Based on our first experience, we decided to use them again when we sold our home and needed to get rid of items quickly. The reason I am going with four stars is because they ended up making things right in the end but feel it is important to at least voice some concern. When you book online, the calendar allows you to book on Sundays. So I chose to book on Sunday, November 4. Well they called my husband and said they don't pick up on Sundays. My suggestion would be remove that option on the website. So we booked them for Saturday, November 3 at noon. We also had movers at the house the same day and they finished up at noon so that Junk Busters could come out to haul off our unwanted items. They called my husband at 11 or so and said it may be closer to 2 because their other job ran long. Well by 2 they hadn't shown up, so they call my husband again and ask if they can come and get the items the following weekend. My husband told them, no, we are on a lease back and we have to vacate the home and need the items removed from the property that day. Junk Busters compromised but said they couldn't come out until after 4. We appreciate that they did show up and took care of our items, however, it was a bit stressful ensuring those items would be removed. read more

FREAKING GREAT! I had not used a junk service before, but was prepping a duplex for sale and had a lot of stuff to haul. Was looking at needing to borrow a truck and spend a full day driving back and forth to the dump...decided instead to look into junk disposal services. Junk Busters scheduled me quickly, gave me an estimate over the phone, and called me when they were on their way. They were on time, friendly, and fast. The two guys loaded the truck efficiently, so that even though I had more stuff than the estimate had covered, they kept the overage to a minimum. My yard is cleared of broken fence pieces and fallen branches, an old mattress is gone, broken lawn equipment, a broken dresser.... DONE. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Really disappointed, I had an appointment scheduled for 5:00 pm, that was confirmed the day before and the guys called me at work while I was in a meeting the day of at 3:30 to see if they could come early, since it was an interview I couldn't answer or call back until a little after 4:00, and no one answered. Needless to say they didn't honor their original time that was confirmed and just decided to not show up. I wouldn't use these guys, seems like a fly by night company that doesn't honor commitments. After a top to bottom search of all the junk in my house I didn't need anymore, I scheduled an appointment online with Junk Busters to get it all hauled away. The next business day, the owner emailed me to confirm the schedule, which I preferred to getting a phone call. The truck was running early, so they called to ask if they could come early... when I said that wasn't convenient for me, they quickly reverted to the originally scheduled time. The crew showed up on-time, were clean cut guys that I wasn't afraid to let into my house, and they quickly gave me an estimate for what needed to be hauled away. Another truck was in the area, so another crew dropped by to help them load everything up quickly. Steve, the Chief Junk Officer, was riding with the other crew and we chatted while the guys loaded up all of my junk. It was a refreshing change to do business with a company that's locally owned and operated, where the owner is actually involved in the day to day operations. It makes such a difference in the way a business runs when the owner is personally involved. He thanked me several times for my business, and made sure that I was totally satisfied with the work they did for me before everyone left. 5 out of 5 stars... a great experience, and I'll definitely be a repeat customer. read more

I called on Friday, and these guys were at my house on Saturday afternoon. While the owner Steve mentioned that is not typical, it was awesome nonetheless. I'll be honest, my load was a b*tch! I cut down this GIANT BUSH (giggity) that I dubbed the beast, because that sucker pretty much covered my entire driveway. Not to mention a bunch of other miscellaneous crap, that once I got it all piled up for them, was much more than I anticipated and described when I made the appointment. Most anyone would have been like, FML, but Scott & Austin had a great attitude the entire time! I mean because of my poor estimate on my amount of crap, these guys only came with room for half a load, when I clearly needed a full truck. They literally had to go dump their first load (giggity) and come back for a second, again with zero attitude or complaints. I cannot recommend these guys enough, Steve the owner was awesome over the phone, and Scott & Austin did an incredible job. Some of the low reviews complain about the cost. JB is upfront about what the cost might be based on the amount of space the stuff takes up on their truck so you're not shocked by the cost. What a complete rip off. When I called they said they had a $150 minimum and all I had were some cardboard boxes from my move. I cancelled my appt and then decided to just suck it up and rescheduled them within about an hour. Well they charged me $302.00!!! Couldn't believe it. Total crooks. Snapping photos of my boxes because I think they suspected I might complain. I called to complain and never heard back. Do NOT use these crooks. Their prices were only slightly lower than their large, national competitor (who shall remain nameless), but I felt much better about supporting their business because they were so darn pleasant to deal with. I work for a nonprofit and these guys have come out twice to pick up mattresses that the community leaves at our trash dumpster. They always respond back in a very timely manner and then they are out to retrieve the item the next day! Steve is awesome! Great customer service, always smiling through the phone and very friendly. I very rarely do reviews, but these guys deserve a great one. The dumpster at my small condo complex was too heavy for the regular trash pickup. The excess weight was due to the fact that contractors working on my unit put our old floor tile in the dumpster. A bunch of regular trash was then piled on the top of that. The topper was the rain that we got from Harvey waterlogged the whole mess. I called Junk Busters, explained the situation, and explained that I needed the dumpster cleaned out ASAP. They said they would be out 2 hours later to give me a quote and do the work if it was acceptable. I was basically expecting them to show up, look at the mess, and then tell me that they weren't going to do it. I was going to highly irritated since I explained the mess thoroughly on the phone. Here is how it went down: 1) They called 30 minutes ahead as promised; 2) They showed up on time; 3) They were very nice and gave us a quote; 4) They get what they can from outside the dumpster; 5) Dude then gets IN the dumpster to get stuff from there; 6) The whole time they are trying to suggest things that will save us money on this fiasco; 7) They finish the job in like an hour; and 8) They charged us less then they probably should have based on the fact that the whole truck was full (they only charged us for 3/4 of a truck plus $40 for getting in the dumpster). Keep in mind that this is wet trash on top of heavy bags full of tile on a hot, humid Austin day. There is genuinely nothing more that we could have asked of them. Thank you JUNK BUSTERS! The crew was on time and literally took care of everything, including climbing up into the attic in the Summer heat and hauling everything out of the attic - and there was a lifetime of stuff up there from my deceased parents. They even were cautious and found a box that contained my father's Purple Heart Certificate from President Roosevelt. It would have been easy to just toss everything, but they realized I hadn't searched the attic and paid close attention to what they found and had me look everything over. If I'd only known... Thirty years of accumulated "stuff", gone and clean in two hours! I'd put off cleaning the attic for many years; I'm not nearly as spry as I used to be, and there's never a good time to be in the attic. Finally, enough was enough, and I searched and found Junk Busters. A simple online request as followed by a prompt return call to schedule. When they arrived, the two young guys could't have been nicer. I told them my dream of what I'd like, and they accommodated. I stayed in one spot; the guys would dig out and show me items; I then simply said 'stays or goes'. They cleaned the resulting empty area and rearranged what I kept, then loaded the truck with what went and were on their way. One added bonus; we all hold onto stuff because we thought it had value, and they were never judgmental and often responded how an item would be recycled or otherwise reused. One slight downside: their online photo of the truck has no reference and is smaller than you'll think (but their upfront estimate will be accurate). read more
