I went for a scheduled MRI in early February 2026. It looked like the waiting area was being remodeled and under construction. The staff was welcoming and the wait wasn't very long. The MRI Technologist wss very friendly and explained the exam/procedure in detail. I was expecting to be in there for over an hour based on ChatGPT. But I was done in maybe 30-40 minutes. I did have to sit in the waiting room in a while because I wasn't warned thay the contrast could make me feel dizzy and brain foggy. They were kind enough to make CDs of the MRI images for my physicians while I waited in the waiting room. It was a pleasant experience, but next time I know to have my husband or a friend drive me for a contrast study. read more

Ive been going to Tower for years. They now have many locations. I noticed that sometimes the people scheduling you will not mention that there are other locations and often, you can get a quicker appointment if you are willing to travel to another location. The worst Imaging experience in my lifetime. They lady doing the breast was rude to begin with changing appt times over and over. Next the employee Matthew Cancelled an appointment of mine because he felt like it. Meanwhile I am arguing with the lady telling her I had an ultrasound appt. She acted like they were doing me a favor my fitting me in. No they need to fix what their employew messed up. It is ridiclous that I had to advocate for myself. I have been a patient with Tower Diagnostic for 15 years or so and always received exceptional care. Unfortunately, once the acquisition took place with Tampa General coming in the customer service went down tremendously. They have a gentleman at the front desk name Matthew that is truly a poor representation of what a healthcare professional should display. Granted they appeared to be short staffed and the waiting room was full of patients, you have to keep your emotions in check and just work with one patient at a time. Matthew obviously was absent that day of training. Matthew turned his name badge over in hopes of me not seeing his name to report his poor behavior that many patients witnessed him displaying. Slamming down clipboards out of frustration and walking away to have a temper tantrum is certainly not expected of any adult working in a professional environment. I have worked in healthcare as a leader for over 25+ years and I highly urge the leadership staff that is responsible for the training of Matthew and other checkin staff to really focus on the customer service aspect that most consumers/patients seek when choosing a healthcare provider. The technicians all seemed very rushed and you could visually see the frustration on many of their faces. My recommendation is to make taking care of the patient the primary focus and not the financial gain that you hope to achieve by overbooking. It's unfair to your staff and it truly is a poor representation of the TGH brand and mantra of not practicing medicine, but defining it. Unfortunately I will be moving my diagnostic services from the Tower family after all these years due to my last few experiences at the Carrollwood facility since the acquisition. read more

Concerning Carrollwood Tower on North Dale Mabry, make sure you take a copy of your referral with you as back-up. Almost every other person in line had to call their doctors office to ask them to re-send it again including us. Same exact thing happened to us last time we went there 10 months ago. Make sure you go armed with paperwork to affirm everything has been approved or you'll be rejected or delayed if you don't do their job for them. Our doctor affiremed that they sent it 2 weeks before the appointment and Tower said they never got it. The receptionist may need glasses. It appears she has tunnel vision and makes some people disappear who are in plain sight. All joking aside. I stopped by the facility after my visit with my urologist and who ordered an ultrasound. So Tower was on my way home, so I thought it a good idea to stop and make an appointment before my next dr visit in two weeks. I was overlooked and two other people cut ahead of me. One by the receptionist without being called back. Anyway, it would have been nice if the receptionist acknowledged me and asked why I was there. After the second "cutter", I left to go online; only to find out all online appointments were done everywhere. I just can win!! read more

Why 4 stars? Because the process was pretty efficient. --- --- --- My experience here was relatively quick and relatively painless, but it just kind of feels strange to give 5-stars for something that wasn't exactly what I would consider "enjoyable." Granted, I'm not sure there are a ton of ways for a facility to make an MRI fun, but I suppose a couple minor upgrades could have swung my rating up to 5. I was given a prescription for an MRI from my Orthopedist and agreed to work with their preferred vendor, Tower Radiology. A couple of days later, they called me to set up my appointment. I thought it was a little weird that they call me instead of me calling them, but no big deal. The person told me to arrive 30 minutes early for my paperwork, which seemed excessive. And then the day before, the automated phone call said 15 minutes early, so I went with that. I waited in the main room for about 20 minutes before being called back. The liaison was very business-like in letting me know what I needed and where I needed to go. I was asked to change into the gown and he didn't come back for quite a few minutes, but eventually I was escorted back for the MRI. They had me place all of my belongings in a locker and then asked me what kind of music I liked. I was caught off guard with that question, because A) I didn't expect it and B) I pretty much like all music, so I wasn't sure what to say. She asked again and mentioned that she had Pandora, so I could pick just about anything. I said "alt rock," and then was guided into the MRI machine. They gave me headphones for the music and asked me to remain as still as possible. It's never fun to to be place in a small area and hold completely still while listening to the insanely loud clacking noises of an MRI machine, but I suppose they feel that music helps make it slightly more tolerable. I'd agree, but the music was barely audible... I definitely wished it would have been turned up even just a slight amount. The MRI itself, as outlined above, wasn't the most fun I've ever had. They had to re-do one part because I had such an intolerable itch that I had to scratch, which messed it up. I had about a 20 second break at one point where they mentioned I could move, but I would have loved a couple more breaks like that built in. I am generally a pretty figidity person, so asking me not move is generally when my entire body will start intensely itching. All in all, the experience here was fine. I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future if need be. read more

This is a really good location to get your radiology work done. I like it because they have Saturday appointments and they are not very busy on Saturdays so you can get right in. I arrived on time but forgot my paperwork so the receptionist said I could have my husband send me a picture and then I could email it to her. Thankfully I was able to do that so I didn't have to reschedule. They were able to fit me in shortly after I was able to have my husband send me the paperwork. The ladies who perform the mammograms are always great. There is nothing I like better than getting in an out for medical/dental appointments. I feel like if I get there on time, I should not have to wait 30 or more minutes for the doctor/technican etc. At this location, I have never had that problem. read more

It's impossible to speak with someone on the phone. I had a billing issue and they never sent me a bill and then sent my account to collections. I found out whoever entered my address information, entered the wrong apartment number so if they did send me a bill I would have never received it. Instead of calling me or emailing me regarding the billing statement they sent it to collections. When I spoke with the collection agency the woman said she hears this happens a lot with Tower. So unfortunate that they do business like this and I will never go there for services again. read more

on 3/19/24 I arrived 30 minutes early as requested only to end up there over 2 hours. finally I was called back for my MRI. the male tech ( I don't know his name as he did not introduce himself) wS very short when he spoke to me. told me to lie down, gave me button, and without warning attempted to shove ear plugs in my ears. Had to ask for blanket. Then after it was finally over he came in and yanked off the blanket while I was still in the tube. Then rushed me out. when it was tower imaging I was NEVER treated like that. NEVER had that kind of horrible treatment. no plans to ever go back. read more

I have scheduled a CT back in May about to put on my referral with contrast CT department called me the day before my appointment tell me I got to come in and get the contrast that I have to drink before my CT test at 4:15 pm I feel like we should have been 24 hours before my appointment meaning Saturday I should have came and got my contrast with the instruction to start taking it the morning before my test but they did not do that I feel like they got unexperience tech that work in the CT department I was not happy because I had to get off from work and hurry up and get up there because the young lady said she get off at 5:00 pm. Y'all ain't been having nothing but negative feedback at this image department . I had the logo from work to her to get up there to get the contrast that I have to take for my CT for June 11th when they should have had told me Friday to come and get it 24 hours before my test this ain't the first test I had to take with contrast and they did it 24 hours before my appointment I don't know what y'all employees got going on at this facility . Do not go here! Being new to the area, I did some googling and decided to use TGH for a routine mammogram. The results were abnormal resulting in my needing an additional mammogram and ultrasound yet they waited 3 weeks to notify me. I have experienced this before but was noticed by previous radiology sites within 2-3 days. Waiting 3 weeks is 100% unacceptable when you have an abnormal mammogram. read more

What a joke this place is. When I called and made my appointment it took no less than 45 minutes on hold. I told the csr that I wanted to make the appointment at n Dale mabry and van dyke location. Went the day of my appointment only to be told my appointment was at the Carrollwood location. Pfffttt ok no big deal. So I drove down as fast as I could. Waited a good 45 minutes and finally asked what was up. Was told the doctor was having issues reading the reports and nurse didn't know how long it would take. I work full time and had taken time off for this appointment but had to get back to seminole (45 minutes away) for my sons dentist appointment. I couldn't wait. I rescheduled my appointment online for the correct location at van dyke and n Dale mabry. I arrive at my appointment today to be told that a csr within TGH had canceled my appointment with no reason given. The gal, Savannah, at the desk was less than apologetic and was rather short with me after I drove 45 minutes (again!) and took time off work (again!) for absolutely nothing. Tower Radiology makes it easy to get the care you need. Many of their services require an appointment, but X-rays are just walk-in. I did just that, walked in, got a needed x-ray of my arm, and walked... all in less than 20 minutes. Very fast and friendly service. Inexpensive too, considering I chose to self-pay rather than file a claim with my insurance. Worth every penny, they did a great job. read more

Do not go here for service unless you have no choice. They have screwed up billing for 2 family members (had to write a letter to someone at the top to resolve 1 and the other was told after the visit that a prior authorization was needed and that they owe $800). Today when we tried to schedule an appt we were told they had nothing available for 7 days and that a prior authorization was needed. According to the doctor's office we should not need a prior authorization. We were on hold for 15 minutes before even speaking with a scheduler. We decided to give up and try Baycare Outpatient Imaging on Van Dyke. We waited less than 5 minutes for a scheduler, got an appt in 2 days and no prior authorization was needed. Billing and scheduling is a mess at Tower. Call your insurance provider to know exactly what you need before using them. read more

Very professional from year to year. They remind you of your due date each year for things like your mammogram and process quickly. They're still masking and social distancing but make you feel welcome and relaxed. read more

My family and I have been coming here for years. I get my mammogram and ultrasound done here. My son gets his MRI with dye contrast for his cancer screenings. Everyone is super sweet. The wait is what I'd deem to be normal for any medical facility. read more

No social distancing in place! I was shocked. I filled out my paperwork before arrival as to avoid any additional contact with staff. I waitedd in my car till they called me to come in..so far, GREAT! when i arrived i noticed about 12 ppl seated in waiting room all bunched together (wearing masks) i checked in at desk and she told me to have a seat. I then was called to have contact with a registration person who asked me for my license & ins card.(i had just taken photos & sent them in from my car to avoid this!) I was told to have a seat in waiting room with the other people. I told her i wasn't comfortable sitting in crowded waiting room, and can i wait outside. She said, it will be very quick, there's no need to wait outside...i waited 10-15 minutes more in crowded waiting room(angry) until I was called in. I would've HAPPILY WAITED IN MY CAR LONGER...I did not want to be exposed to so many ppl crowded together elbow to elbow...not professional or healthy at all. New protocols need to be in place. I had a mammogram at Tower radiology in Oldsmar yesterday afternoon. Normally, mammograms are horrible for me; I have sometimes literally cried at the pain and discomfort of the process. I am writing my very first Yelp review (after saying I would write one a million times after various good and bad service experiences, but never following through) to share that Kaitlyn (not sure of the spelling) was so gentle, so sweet and so careful after I told her about my trepidation - I barely felt discomfort at all! I think the facility was led cold than they usually are and the machine was probably better than others I've been smushed in. Just the best possible experience, if you have to get a mammogram.
