You have to get an appointment way ahead of time and even when you do, it's not a guarantee. Once had them call and cancel on me morning of my appointment that I'd made a while ago. My prescriptions are also both for things not covered by my insurance which is really disappointing. On the plus side, the people are nice and for me the location is convenient. read more

Absolutely the worst dermatologist having grown up in Florida fair share dermatology visits this one best to steer clear off very incompetent staff at the Westchase location. The physicians in my case were throwing accusations at in another on the cause of why the wound on my face was swollen, it got infected stitches were left in to long had prescribe further antibiotics to fight infection took it upon myself to walk in to find this out as I could not get emergency appointment. Really not sure what the situation is with this practice is. As a new patient I've had to wait two (2) months for an appointment and I was called today to reschedule my 11:45 am January appointment because they have a new "system" that only allow them to schedule on 30 minute intervals?? How is this my problem !! First off this office should have accommodated me as a new patient and moved me up or down and because I've waited two months for this appointment, second of all it is not MY problem that they switched to a new system and lastly wouldn't they have known they were switching to a new scheduling system in November when this appointment was made? They literally rescheduled my appointment because they scheduled me at 11:45. Horrible first impression! I cancelled my appointment. Obviously they do not care about their patients and especially their new patients! This office is a complete joke! How about get your shit together before you change your scheduling platform! This was my first visit to this office and I could not have asked for anything better. From check-in with Michelle to the nurse that assisted named Alisa to check-out with Kati, the entire staff is so kind and so efficient. Then there is Dr. Valencia who is so chill, very good at what she does, makes you feel super comfortable, and you feel as if an expert has got your back. I waited about an 1-hour for my appointment. I finally asked how much longer and they said another 20+ minutes to be seen. With no real apology. I finally had to leave because I couldn't wait 90 minutes past my appointment time. It should have been a sign when I walked in that the waiting room was jammed. Every seat taken. Then, they took a guy who just walked-in because he was 2- WEEKS early for his appointment. It was a non-emergency visit too. You wonder why you have to wait over an hour to be seen. Unpleasure experience ever, unprofessional service. Feels so bad for waste money and time

I see Audrey Ford and she is amazing. I have had countless spots removed and I would say 99% have been cancerous which makes me happy that she isn't just guessing which ones look bad. Even a spot that I've had for years and thought nothing of turned out to be basal cell. She listens to my concerns and explains what she's doing. My surgeon is Dr. Ross who is also amazing. My scars keloid so she does her best to make it as minimal as possible, using inside dissolvable stitches instead which has really cut down on my scarring. I love the complimentary coffee and cookies that are available upstairs while you're waiting when you have Mohs surgery. The only time I've had to wait is when someone else came in for an emergency which is understandable. read more

Had to visit this office twice due to needing to see the dermatologist right away. I received the same great care at this office as I received at my home office in palm harbor. I walked and was ushered back to an examination room in less than 5 minutes. The nurse talked to me and within 3 minutes the Dr came in to look at my mysterious mole on my back. She examined the mole and immediately knew it wasn't right . The doctors at PHD always take care of me and I recommend any location. Staff and doctors are all friendly and knowledgeable. read more

PhDermatology is an extremely convenient location for me, and since I couldn't really find much better reviews for any other dermatologist online, I kept going back, but no more. Every time I've been here, I've felt that the doctors were rushing me to get out. I know that time is money, and that there are a lot of constraints on a doctor's time, but this is by far the most unwelcome I've ever felt at an office (and it isn't just me, my fiancée felt the same way the handful of times she's been here too, and all because I went here). Worse, that feeling of being rushed through seems play out in tangible ways, since several errors have occurred on their end. The first was an inaccurate recording in my records/chart, then they forgot to phone in a prescription to my pharmacy. And then they did not phone in a prescription to my pharmacy for a second time in a row. Of course, both times as the doctor left the room, they said that they were immediately going to get the prescription fulfilled. I should have looked for a different dermatologist at this point, but I needed to have a procedure done, and they had my most up to date record, so I just went ahead a scheduled an appointment. While they addressed my main concern, I had a similar procedure done when I lived in California, and that dermatologist seemed much more knowledgeable and skilled, and the California procedure healed with no scar or issues, which is not the case for my procedure that was done at PhDermatology. But here's where things get really fun. I have another appointment, and one of the assistants come in and say that my biopsy came back negative. My procedure did not require a biopsy. My insurance had also changed, and I get a letter from my new insurance saying they're not covering anything since they thought I was already covered under my old insurance. A week before, I had went my to primary care doctor, and then a week after, I had gone to my dentist, and neither of those had any issues with my new insurance. Maybe my insurance just kicked things back due to the biopsy coding not making sense with my procedure? Anyway, it takes me several phone calls with my insurance to sort things out. Making these calls are no phone, and you gotta block out a good chunk of time since you're going to be on hold for a bit, so of course it takes me awhile to get the calls done. In the meantime PhDermatology sends me notes saying my bill is past due (fair, standard procedure I would assume). I finally get things sorted out and call PhDermatology, and they tell me great, they'll wait for the updated bill from my insurance and then readjust my bill, and then send me an updated invoice. The person on the phone specifically told me to DISREGARD the notices and the previous bills that were sent to me. So I go on about my life, but then what do I find in the mail? That PhDermatology had sent my outstanding balance to a debt collector! Funny enough, the updated amount reflected the payment from my insurance, but they couldn't be bothered to send me the follow-up bill that they told me they would send. Lesson learned, learn from me, just don't go to this place. The doctors here seem to be in a rush or do not care and there are way too many sloppy clerical errors (if not going through with their word). The person I talked to at my insurance company ended up sending me a handwritten note thanking me for calling them and apologizing for the inconvenience (while for the majority of my procedure), while PhDermatology couldn't bother sending me an updated invoice! Oh, and that last appointment where they told me about a biopsy report that should have never been ordered, or was mixed up in my chart, or was sneaked in for extra fees, or for whoever knows what reason, the doctor did not put in my prescription at the pharmacy again. read more

I was very hopeful that the Sheldon road location was going to be as fabulous as it looked from the outside. After checking the hours online, I was excited to see that they had a late day with late appointments. Calling to make an appointment, I requested the late day only to be told that doesn't actually exist. The last appointment is actually at 3pm. Sucking it up, I went ahead and booked an appointment for mid-workday. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time and was taken back pretty quickly. After waiting in the room for 45 minutes, I finally had to leave. So instead of having this great experience, I don't even know what the doctor looks like. If you value your time at all, go somewhere else. If you enjoy sitting in a room by yourself for a long period of time, well then maybe this place is for you. read more

I used to get horrible bumps on my skin, especially after shaving. It doesn't look good as a 36-year-old having such noticeable and aggravating blemishes. I've gone to other dermatologists and wasn't too happy with the service or the results. I'd receive a prescription, use it, and see minimal effects. I just stopped going to the dermatologist out of frustration. My face was the worst it had been since I was a teenager. My wife recommended Palm Harbor Dermatology on Sheldon. The staff here is friendly and accommodating. Dr. Nayyar was able to quickly identify and pinpoint the issue. The medicine prescribed has fixed the problem and I haven't had issues in months. I have never had a Doctor treat me with such disrespect as Dr Isabel Valencia. I have a skin issue that creates bruises all over my arms and when she told me that she couldn't do anything about it, I started crying. To some people this may not be a big deal having bruises all over your arms all of the time, and skin peeling back whenever I hit something accidentally. I apologized for getting emotional, but in addition to this issue I have many health issues and this just overwhelmed me when she said I would just have to live with it. That was bad, but when she said, well you don't have mestatic breast cancer so buckle up (bascially) I was astounded. There was absolutely NO compassion for what I am experiencing, in fact she was patronizing and seemed to not care whatsoever what I am dealing with. My appointment was for 2:30 with Dr. Busquets for a mole checkup, to address a strange rash, and a blemish on my face that would not go away. I arrived at 2:15. The clinic was not crowded by any means, as there was only one other person in the lobby. However, I was finally called back after 3:00. The nurse that led me back was very friendly, albeit it took quite a while to meet her. So, once I was in my examination room, I changed into the standard robe and again waited... And waited, and waited. It was more than 20 minutes until the actual doctor bothered to show up. When she finally did, I brought up the rash, and practically as soon as I did she dismissed it with disinterest. She didn't even try to take a closer look or feel it. Then came the check for any potentially cancerous moles. This was unbelievably not thorough. I have quite a few moles, she did not take a closer look at any of them, look for anything under my hair, or even circle around my body, staying in a stationary position the whole time. I think it says it all that for my whole body examination, she didn't even ask me to stand up. After that expedited process, we made it to the thing on my face. Prior to looking at that, she asked if I wanted an acne cream. I said yes. This was the last I heard of this. She never brought it up again, I received no prescription for anything, nor did I receive a cream of any kind. But I digress. So, she looks at the blemish. Immediately she says she's taking a sample, and says they just prick it with a needle and scrape some of the area off. She doesn't inform me of why this needs to be done, nor am I given an option whether or not I want it to be. That being said, she makes it sound so minor that I don't protest. The nurse returns, and gives me a shot in the area. No problem. Then, the doctor returns for what I believe is the scraping part. She sticks another needle in, and I'm think it's fine, the first was just a numbing shot. I see that she also has a blade, which I think is going to be used to scrape. I'm mostly numb at this point, so I ignore the very small feeling of cutting on my face. Once that gets wrapped up she grabs something that looks like a lighter and tells me she's going to burn me. This is where I start to wonder what the hell just happened, but it's too late to change it so I let this burn happen. I can feel my flesh being singed. Words do not do justice for the feeling in being burned and smelling your own cooking skin. On your face. I was improperly numbed, and had to get another shot before she could continue. After she's done, she tells me that this is going to leave a scar. So now she has permanently scarred my face without telling me why this needed to be done and not giving me an option about it. I checked out and went home, where I looked under my bandage. The whole talk of a scrape was a lie, she cut out of my face the whole blemish area, which is a very sizable chunk (about the size of a dime) and then cauterized it while I could feel the flames! And I had to wait over an hour for this horrible appointment! read more

This is a beautiful office with wonderful staff. I had the very first appointment this morning and didn't wait very long to get called into an exam room. I talked with the nurse who was asking the standard questions prior to Dr. Busquets coming in. I waited for maybe 10-15 minutes for Dr. Busquest. She was very nice, professional and thorough. My previous dermatologist was NO WHERE close to having this great of service, office, doctors or staff. Dr. B explained everything to me in detail and answered all my questions. I left that office feeling positive and confident in the treatment I received and calling this place my home for any skin care concerns I may have in the future. I highly recommend you choose this office for your skin care needs. They take care of everything from cancer treatments to daily skin problems. Thank you Dr. Kirkland for the great care and kind attention you lavished on me during my appointment Tuesday, February 20th! ---The older I've gotten the more I've noticed my lips thinning, a little 'wrinkly' and more susceptible to chapping and peeling (and I am not a smoker). I had never had lip injections before my visit. I did however read all kinds of scary stories about the procedures and outcomes; however, Dr. Kirkland explained the procedure thoroughly, discussed plans for what I wanted (beautiful feminine lips, sans the infamous "trout pout"). She explained very carefully what to expect post-procedure. I totally love my lips!! They are fuller, smoother and my lipstick goes on fabulously!
