After tonight's insane monsoon, I arrived home from work to find that my garage door opener wasn't working. And then, imagine my surprise/shock/horror when I realized my house key was not on my keychain. I was locked out. I have a dog who needed a potty break and no way to get in, short of breaking a window. I looked up local locksmith services and thankfully TG's locksmith service was right down the street and available to help! Is having 2 kids seats attached to your bike cool? No, not really! I had 1 Yepp mini locking seat on my handle bars that we lost the tubular key to. If you have had this problem you might call it a circle lock. We then bought a bigger rear mount Yepp Maxi which is why I had two. After searching and calling the manufacturer I decided to call TG to drill out the lock to get it off. What a solid guy TG is; affordable (he gave me the lowest quote out of 5 locksmiths),highly skilled, professional and fast! I called him Wednesday afternoon and he promptly showed up at my house a 2:30 at our scheduled time. I would give him fewer stars if I could. Full review below, here's the gist: -Website quotes $49.99 to open cars, $0 service charge -Informs you about a "convenience fee" for card payments, so cash is preferable -Called for a quote, was told $60, it's not often that much and it's rarely more -Got my car opened quickly and was told it would be $80 -Argued over the quote vs. actual price, he wouldn't back down, and I got ripped off -Checked the website again, wondering if I called the wrong place and it's still $49.99 for cars, $0 service fee. Don't get ripped off, don't call this guy. He was nice, sure, but not $30 worth of nice. I was planning on tipping him, so at least I decided against it after he charged me $80. Even if other places charge more, this guy is a con artist, and I'd rather deal with someone who honestly charges more than one who lies about it after realizing he's dealing with someone that can be taken advantage of. --- I was ripped off, and I know I am an easy target, but that does NOT make it okay. The website quotes $49.99 for car lockout. I have a Mazda3, NOT an SUV ($59.99), NOT a truck ($79.99). When I called he quoted me $60 and insisted "It's almost never that much." He kept telling me he was 20 minutes away and would be there soon, even though I kept telling him I just wanted a quote first. I finally agreed, asking if he had the ability to make a key if my key was not in the car. He refused to answer because "first things first, let's see if it's in there." He opened my car for me, I found my key, and he went to make a receipt. I asked how much, he said $80. I informed him he quoted me $60 on the phone. "I said it starts at $60" and I argued that he assured me over the phone it was $60, and probably not even that much. He wouldn't back down, so I paid him the $80 in cash as there is a "convenience fee" for card charges. No wonder. Anybody that realizes they were ripped off like I just was would have a card payment disputed and returned. Can't do that with cash. In hindsight he did ask about my insurance and said many insurances reimburse for lockout services. I've since looked mine up, and it does not. I wish I had just gotten in my car and driven away instead of paying him, but I guess that's why he brought his friend with him as a witness if I did try to drive off. I broke my key fob for my 2010 Nissan Altima and lost the motherboard so my car was stuck at my job. I called Tyrone and he only charged me a $100 flat fee! Other locksmiths were going to charge me 165-400. Which was INSANE! He was awesome enough to meet me where the car was located and he was very professional and kind!
