I received quotes for work to be done on 2 properties. Not a huge job ($3000) but a solid variety of tasks that allowed me to see if this is an experienced company that can do the jobs well and reliably (installing ceiling fans, bathroom exhaust fans, weather-stripping exterior doors, tightening a few loose toilets). They said that it would take 4 days to complete our job. So I waited 3 weeks until they could scheduled us in. At the end of the 4 days, this was what was completed: 1 ceiling fan installed in a bedroom. Nothing else. 4 days to install a ceiling fan? The injury to insult was the total lack of communication from the office. Not one single email, text or phone call after I left multiple messages as to what the status of our job was. We had tenants moving in the following week so I sent an detailed email to cancel and explained what went so terribly wrong with this job. No reply. Just an invoice for the 1 ceiling fan. I found a different handyman who singlehandedly completed the entire scope of work in 2 days! without complaint or fanfare and $840 cheaper. He is now my go-to guy for all my repairs and remodeling jobs.

Now before commenting why can't you text? Here's why- my grandmother has tremors and she obviously doesn't have text or a smart phone. I get home from work today to hear this update from her and it's upsetting. How do you run a business and expect your customers to do the footwork for you by texting the problem they are having. You should be ready to do that as part of the customer service end, and most definitely call people back when you promise. I had really hoped this would work out as we have a list of things that we want done and wanted to start with the door as this is a priority issue.
