This little place is exactly the kind of hidden gem you hope to find--completely unassuming from the outside, a true "hole in the wall," but serving absolutely incredible food with stellar service inside! We started with the Nam Sod, and it instantly took me back to my childhood. It was served the traditional way with crisp cabbage leaves for scooping up every bite of the spicy, flavorful ground pork. Fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong; which is my scale for measuring a Thai restaurant's authenticity, and it was perfection. The broth had that unmistakable umami flavor with just the right balance of spice, tanginess, and aromatics. The prawns were large, fresh, and cooked perfectly along with the perfect mix of herbs. My husband ordered the Pad Kra Pow with chicken at a FOUR-PEPPER chili heat, and it was exactly what he was hoping for--bold, spicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Our daughter stuck with her okd favorite, Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken and shrimp. She's quite the rice connoisseur, and her enthusiastic thumbs-up said everything that needed to be said! The service made the experience even better. Our sweet blonde server was warm, attentive, and even took the time to share travel tips and local points of interest around the area, making us feel like welcomed guests instead of just customers. This is a quaint little place. My daughter and I went for lunch around 1:30. There were only a few people there so service was fast and the food was hot, The staff is very friendly. This is the only Thai restaurant in the Gadsden/Rainbow City/Attalla area. I've been here several times and every time has overall been a good experience. The wait for food to arrive to the table is around 20 minutes. The only appetizer I would order again and again would be the Fresh Basil Rolls. They're only available after 5pm so that's usually when I go. The Curry Noodle Bowl is my favorite entree so far. I don't even like coconut but their Coconut Ice Cream is just divine! read more

Been here a couple times now, once really busy on a Saturday at lunchtime and once not so busy mid-afternoon on a Saturday. Both times service was excellent and food quality was superb. As far as quality goes, these guys rank as some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Good selection of traditional and somewhat unique menu items. Serving sizes are moderate to large and prices are on par with any other Thai food place I've been to in the past. Casual low key environment, so if you've just finished hiking at Noccalula falls or you've just dressed from a meeting you may have had, you don't need to worry you'll fit right in with everyone else in the place. My wife and I just moved back to Alabama from NJ and though we are glad to be back living in the South, we do miss all the food options we had to choose from there in the NYC metro area. So, finding that we have a Thai restaurant nearby is a nice surprise and it's not just decent, it's delicious. Everything we had today including the pad Thai, the coconut soup and the fresh squeezed lemonade was excellent. We will definitely be coming back for more. read more

We live in centre and our local Thai place was closed today. Luck have it I found this gem on yelp. Upon pulling up to building I wasn't sure I was in the right spot, but once I opened the door it was a very clean and air conditioned nice establishment that had tables full of guest. We shared the spring rolls ( very good) I had the drunken noodles with 2 pepper spice level ( excellent ) my sun had the pad woon sen ( delish ) I would definitely drive to Gadsden again to enjoy this fabulous meal. read more

I would have given this place 4 stars but we had a few problems. I really wanted to like this place & my dish (Gingerine Chicken) was really good. But my husband didn't have the same experience. So here's my mixed review: CONS- 1) No one greeted us at the door. We had to ask if we seat ourselves & were told there probably weren't any clean tables. Although there was one right in front of us. 2) We sat for a good 15 minutes before they took our drink orders & another 10 minutes to get our drinks. 3) Food took a long time also & when it came out my husband had asked for no sprouts in his Pad Thai but got them anyway (and he hates them). He was really mad. 4) I like Splenda for my tea but it's not offered. And there were no straws for the drinks. PROS- 1) My Gingerine Chicken was very good & similar to a place we eat at & love in Huntsville called Big Bowl Thai. My son also liked his drunken noodles. 2) I asked to substitute out mushrooms for broccoli & carrots & they did no problem & remembered this. 3) Waiter was nice once we got to our table just not quick. Seemed like they needed at least one more waiter. 4) This place is a little bit of a dive but in a good way with fun quirky decor. 5) The location is cute & right across from the park with the waterfall. Had to grab a few Boston Butts from Paul's Mountain Meats with my son so we walked across the parking lot to Kati Thai. I got the Drunken Noodles and my some got the Pad Thai. I'm not sure of the particular ingredient that I wasn't fond of but overall the dish was good. Plenty of food to fill me up and take some home for lunch tomorrow! Next time I come here, I think I'll get the Drunken Fried Rice. My teenaged son really liked the Pad Thai and had ZERO leftovers. I was absolutely floored when I had him try the Basil Rolls with me as the appetizer and he LOVED them! The rolls are only available after 5 pm and comes with 4 good sized sections. The sauce that served with it puts this appetizer over the top. Highly recommend this! Again, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will find more excuses to "be in the neighborhood". read more

Kati Thai offers surprisingly good Thai cuisine for a restaurant in a town as small as Gadsden. The restaurant is small and dimly lit, but has a warm and inviting atmosphere nonetheless. There was only one server while we ate, but he was on top of things, pleasant, and had a good humor. Our food was obviously cooked fresh, but still arrived promptly. The Thai iced tea was perhaps a little too sweet and had a slightly strange aftertaste, but it was still pretty good. We sampled the dumplings for an appetizer. They were steamed and served with a sort of citrusy sauce. Very fresh and flavorful, perhaps my favorite part of the meal! Complimentary soup was served with our lunch special. Super hot! Our friends had drunken noodles and Kapow chicken. They chicken was particularly well received, and our friend complimented their adherence to the three pepper spiciness level he asked for. Just enough to clear the sinuses and feel the burn! I had pad see ew and my mom had cashew chicken with bell peppers and brown sauce. We liked the cashew chicken better; we thought the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sticky rice really soaked up the flavorful sauce. Pad see ew noodles were also good, not gummy or stuck together, but I do wish there had been more broccoli. All in all, I definitely recommend this place! read more
