Tried this place after shopping late. It is located behind the CVS of Hwy 11 in the strip mall. Small take out spot but there are a few tables for eating in. I tried the Garlic Triple and it was a hearty portion that I split into dinner and lunch the next day. Wasn't that spicy IMO but was a nice spiced sauce over the veggies and chicken, shrimp and beef. I will expand my Chinese restaurant choices with this place. Of course I need to try more but really good first dish.

Great new Chinese in Trussville! Our food was all very hot and fresh, quality ingredients. We got the crab rangoons, honey chicken, and orange chicken. It was all very good! You can choose white or fried rice, we got and liked both! Service was friendly and quick and the restaurant was clean. Will be back!

Friendly staff, great food. Fried items done perfectly, not soaked in grease. I've gone twice and enjoyed both times.

Every meal we've had has been full of flavor and consistently satisfying. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, and the bartenders do a great job of staying attentive and making sure customers are well taken care of. You can tell they know what they're doing and truly care about the guest experience. A special shoutout to the manager, Landon, who goes way above and beyond his duties to make sure everything runs smoothly and that guests feel appreciated. His leadership really shows in the quality of service throughout the restaurant. We always enjoy coming here to relax, hang out, and feel that true hometown atmosphere. It's a great place to bring family, enjoy a meal, or watch your favorite sports team. The restaurant is always clean, and the restrooms are well maintained, which adds to the overall great experience. We always leave completely satisfied and look forward to coming back again and again.

The sports bar atmosphere is a very loud environment so it is not conducive to a lot of talking but still an enjoyable experience. My wife really likes the Zydeco Salad (sweet chili-glazed fried shrimp, mixed greens, cabbage, candied pecans, jalapeños, tortilla strips, red onions, bell peppers, jack cheese, pepper jelly vinaigrette). Pepper Jack Boudin (jack cheese, pepper jelly vinaigrette) is almost always a part of our order. If you have never had, I recommend you give them a try. The Voodoo Shrimp & Grits (bacon-wrapped jalapeño and cream cheese stuffed-shrimp tossed in sweet chili glaze, served with cheddar grits) are an interesting take on the traditional Louisiana dish. I had never had corn mixed in with my grits before but it was a nice addition. The dish is large enough to split, especially when you add the boudin and Beignet Bites for a full meal. The Seafood Poboy with a choice of boom boom shrimp, fried shrimp or fried catfish with tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo, poboy bread is another great option.

Of course catfish is a "muddier" fish type so I expect some graying or pieces not as flavorful, but it was maybe a 6/10 in-restaurant versus 9/10 at home/takeout. Service was average and our waitress was helpful and polite. Music was mostly R&B and a little louder at times depending on the song, but palatable aside from a few unnecessary rap songs that weren't really the vibe for me, personally. Veggies with teriyaki were just okay, and 1/3 of the cup had olive oil base that could have been drained or replaced with more sauce/seasoning. Shrimp was my favorite, 10/10! And those egg rolls! Our mom in law date was made successful from those, definitely .

We were seated immediately, and our hostess also served as our waitress. Despite wearing multiple hats, she did a great job making recommendations, and every suggestion she made turned out to be a winner. The atmosphere had plenty of energy thanks to a live DJ, giving brunch a fun vibe. My only complaint was the volume. The music was loud enough that it made conversation at our table difficult. To drink, I ordered the It's a Henny Thang, while my wife chose the Rosa Goddess. Both cocktails were excellent and easily among the highlights of the meal. For brunch, we ordered the SKC Salmon Croquettes, Cajun Catfish & Grits, and SKC Chix & Waffles. The Cajun Catfish & Grits was the clear standout. The catfish was crispy, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the creamy grits. If you're visiting for brunch, this is the dish I'd recommend first. The Salmon Croquettes were also good. While they didn't quite reach the level of the catfish, they really came alive with a splash of Crystal Hot Sauce, which added just the right amount of acidity and heat. The only disappointment was the Chix & Waffles. The waffles were good but not particularly memorable, and the chicken wings didn't have quite the same wow factor we experienced during our previous visit. Overall, Simone's continues to impress with quality food, creative cocktails, and friendly service. While not every dish hit the same high note, the catfish and grits alone are worth the return trip, and the cocktails were outstanding. Recommendation: Order the Cajun Catfish & Grits, don't skip the cocktails, and if you prefer a quieter brunch, be prepared for the DJ to bring plenty of energy.

I ordered 10 traditional wings and a side of fried green tomatoes. I requested my wings crispy. They weren't yet again and not only that the wings were absolutely tiny!!! I decided to take him up on it because his talk was convincing. I made a pit stop there driving all the way from Washington, D.C. to Mississippi. Thankfully, it wasn't too far off my route. I thought I was going to walk into a restaurant, but it's actually inside a gas station. So definitely do not expect restaurant ambiance nor vibes. There's nowhere to sit to dine. Strictly carry-out. I ordered the hot lemon pepper wings meal since the staff said it's one of their most popular wings flavor. I must say the wings were not impressive to me. Perhaps I came at a bad night, but it was way too salty for my liking. I knew it would be hot, but it wasn't clearing my sinus type of hot. I know lemon pepper wings will be salty but more tangy due to the lemon flavor. It was so salty, I had to stop eating em. The fries, oddly, were under-seasoned. Thankfully, I had my own salt and added it to my fries so they were saved. The drink I ordered, a lemonade & fruit punch mix, was yummy. Would I go here again? Likely not. The wings were not impressive enough to go all the way to Birmingham. Hopefully, they can improve on the salt balance of the lemon pepper wings.
