My guest ordered the basil fried rice and loved it. The egg rolls were also very tasty. The fried fish cakes were not for us at all. We each took one bite and knew it was a no. Aishah was very kind about it, and the staff offered to replace them with egg rolls so we could still enjoy our meal, which I appreciated. The staff was friendly, the food came out pretty fast, and the sweet tea was really good. Prices were moderate. I also like how the building is tucked in the corner. I can't recommend Thai Basil enough. Food is fresh, service is fast and friendly and the restaurant is clean and well decorated. We had a couple of go-to Thai restaurants on the other side of town but this one takes the prize. read more

I do not know why I have not been here yet. The Pho here is amazing. I was a little apprehensive about getting pho at a Thai restaurant. This pho is better than a dedicated pho restaurant. My only complaint is that I asked for no spice, and my curry was quite spicy. I could handle it and it was good flavor, but I was just not expecting it. What a beautiful lunch we had at Thai Basil today! We were greeted with lovely smiles and a beautiful super clean menu (sticky menus are a pet peeve of mine). We were asked to seat ourselves, peruse the menu and order at the desk. We ordered Singapore noodles and Pad Ka Pow, both with gorgeous extra large Shrimp. Working my way through the entire menu. So far everything is delicious. The staff is very pleasant, but there very little service provided. The biggest flaw, though, is the lack of condiments on the tables. Clients must ask for everything to be brought; salt, pepper, soy sauce, other sauces, sugar for tea, etc. This should not deter you from dining there. read more

We stopped by to have a quick bite and it was amazing, they have several gluten free options and one of which was the fried rice and it was fantastic! We had our baby with us and they offered to close the blinds so the sun wouldn't be in his eyes, for a restaurant where you order at the front the service was epic. Tried this new place for the first time. It's about time Spartanburg had a great venue for excellent Thai Food! Amanda was our server and is very enthusiastic about the food and menu selection. Kim (the owner), approached us with a warm welcome. Food was excellent - Red Curry Chicken, Shrimp Pad Thai, Mongolian Beef, and Pork Eggrolls! Also has a nice outdoor seating. Thai Basil is definitely one of the better Thai restaurants in the area. When you walk in, you are greeted and invited to seat yourselves after getting menus. We were greeted by the owner, who is extremely attentive and truly takes care of her customers. Be aware that they do not take your order at the table, but instead you order at the front counter and they will bring the food to you. Soft drinks are also self-serve. The restaurant is spacious and has great window lighting. There is also outdoor seating available. The food was delicious, however some dishes were slightly too salty/over-seasoned to our liking. We ordered a lot of dishes and ate "family style." We were recommended to trying the "Amazing curry," and it was the best dish we got! It truly was amazing with the creaminess and flavor. Other dishes I recommend is the basil stir fry and basil fried rice. Overall, we will be coming back to try more of the curry and have more of the mango sticky rice! read more

An excellent choice for dinner on the East side of Spartanburg! We eat here almost weekly. We love the Pineapple Fried Rice with cashews, Pad Thai, Pad se eew, House Noodles, and large spring rolls. Our daughter especially loves the spring rolls. Great service, great choice! read more

I tried the new Thai Basil on Spartanburg's East side last night and was not disappointed. My wife and I were patrons of Bangkok Cafe before it closed and were looking forward to trying Thai Basil. I had the Yellow Curry with chicken and it was literally the best I have had! It was cooked and seasoned perfectly! My wife was not as impressed with her Thai Basil fried rice combination. Pretty good. I found the counter serve a little confusing as it was full service except order and check out. Service excellent. Food was really good. The fresh rolls had no shrimp and that was the only really disappointing aspect. They were high for all veg. Drunken noodles were very wide and sticky but taste was great.
