Kimchi Pickled Cucumbers
lanette l.

I learned about Legends from Big Dave Eats. I love island food and knew I had to try it. I ordered the Pinoy Chicken with Red Rice & Mac Salad. Hubby had Fiesta Plate with Shortribs, Huli Huli Chicken, Red Rice & Mac Salad. We also got a side of the Kimchi Cucumbers (my mouth just watered as I typed that)! The Short Ribs are next level! I haven't had them this good since we made them in our Asian module of culinary school. For an extra kick of flavor dip them in the vinegar based sauce they give you. Hubby also suggests pouring that on your rice. Both the Huli Huli & the Pinoy chicken were delicious, we had a hard time deciding which was better. Hubby says the sticky & sweet Huli Huli, I say the Smokey peppery Pinoy. The Mac Salad was to die for. Full of flavor, not overcooked or mushy like lots of places. The biggest little show stopper was that side of Kimchi Cucumbers!! They were tart like pickles with delicious Kimchi flavor. A must try! I saw on the sign out front with just missed Lumpia special, which I love so I'll be looking out for that. And another favorite Poncit is coming up! The young gal working was sweet & helpful. I'm sad I didn't get her name.

Amazing food. Owners are so sweet and amazing. Huli chicken was tender. Short ribs were meaty. The pika mayo shrimp was wonderful. Perfect balance with spice. All the textures in one was just what I would want. Very similar to a deconstructed sushi! I would definitely come back.

Everything from the inviting atmosphere, amazing art that tells a Legend ( restaurant name), greetings and friendliness of the host/cashier, and especially the food. Everything reminded me of my growing up on Guam. Love it all gonna make sure to visit every time I visit Greenville. Thank you for bringing back memories of our Home Guahan.

Excellent meal! I really enjoy their potato salad and macaroni salad, great sides.

Food was mediocre...I was disappointed due to the hype I've read about it. The people were kind, but I wouldn't go back.

Got this delivered. Great flavor and variety. Would definitely recommend for a special cuisine that can't be found elsewhere.

Outside of one issue, our meal at The Anchorage was fantastic. The food is delicious and presented…read moreartfully, the service is prompt, the atmosphere is casual yet smart. Let me get to the issue first. We were a table of 6 and any party of 6 or more is required to do the tasting menu at $85 per person. We were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday, so it was not an issue, but this really should be stated up front when taking reservations, when confirming reservations and upon arrival. I'm sure this has resulted in some awkward exchanges for those not prepared. That being said, The Anchorage deserves the accolades it has been given. Every dish was spectacular, from the beet salad to start the meal to the apple pie to finish. We had crispy arancini that was the nights favorite, and the short ribs melted in our mouths. The portions are modest, yet we all left satisfied. There were three vegetable forward dishes, the beet salad, an Asian leaning cabbage dish and a carrot dish with a delicious sauce. In all we sampled 8 dishes and three desserts, as well as a bread service that came with an unctuous bourbon liver mousse. You will have a magnificent meal and experience there.

The tasting menu is everything you see on the menu. It's really fun for the indecisive. They…read moreportion it pretty well so you can eat everything and still be full. All of the salads are amazing. I think the only misses are the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Seared Black Cod. The "Doublecream" Arancini was phenomenal. The bourbon liver mousse was astounding. The hamachi tiradito was great. The Braised Chatel Farms Beef Shortribs are fork tender. All of the desserts were really sweet. I didn't like any of them, far too indulgent. The service was great. We got low on water in the end. The restaurant is a bit cramped but there's seating on the outside and upstairs.

A Place to Eat Near Greenville, SC That Actually Delivers…read more I almost didn't write this review. Selfish, I know. When you find a restaurant this good, the instinct is to keep it quiet, save it for yourself, and casually "forget" to mention it when someone asks where to eat near Greenville or Travelers Rest. But that would be unfair. If you're looking for an upscale restaurant near Greenville, SC that actually lives up to the setting, Core 450 is worth your time. The Food The Cast-Iron Brussels converted me. I've spent years politely pushing Brussels sprouts around a plate, and these stopped me cold. Deeply caramelized, crisp at the edges, tender inside. The applewood bacon brings real smoke and salt, not just garnish energy, and the Manchego adds a creamy depth that ties it together. It feels intentional. It tastes like a kitchen that knows what it's doing. The Nordic Pappardelle is the dish you end up talking about later. Black garlic, smoked butter, birch vinegar, foraged mushrooms, charred leeks. It sounds like a risk. It isn't. It lands somewhere between modern and timeless, and it works. The Maple Bourbon Salmon might be the freshest I've had in the Greenville area. The balance is dialed in. Nothing overpowers. It just comes together the way you wish more dishes would. The Experience And then there's the setting. You're looking out over the golf course with mountain views in the distance, especially at golden hour, and it shifts the whole experience. This is a date night spot. A place for a slower dinner. Something a little more intentional than your average night out in Travelers Rest. The Cocktails The cocktails deserve their own mention. The Lavender Lemonade looks simple, but it's not. It's one of those drinks you keep going back to. The Spiced Pickle-Tini is next on my list. Bottom Line We'll be back. And next time, I'm ordering wider across the menu.

Food was tasty. We tried two small plates: the CrispyBrussels sprouts and the Fried Green…read moreTomatoes. And for entree the Chilean Sea Bass. All were good. Don't think I'll get the fried tomatoes again but the other two were excellent. The atmosphere was bright with lots of windows and green space outside. Set at a golf course Service was excellent. Our glasses were kept filled. And as we left everyone from the cooks to the maitre de smiled and greeted us with a "have a great rest of your night". There is indoor seating as well as a big veranda with an amphitheater and a view of the golf course.

Wow. Wow. Wow. This was our first visit snd we were blown away by everything. The food, the energy,…read morethe beauty of the restaurant, the service, everything was stellar during our visit. After having visited Spain and experiencing tapas, our expectations were set high and Cúrate delivered on all levels. We ordered several plates to share, ordered a bubbly white wine and later a pitcher of Sangria and enjoyed the thoughtfulness of their progression of our meal. Every dish was thoughtful and tasty. The patatas bravas were better than some we had in Spain. The lamb skewers were the least favorite as they were slightly overcooked. I missed taking a picture of the mussels because we slopped that up so fast! Overall, I cannot wait to visit again, especially as they change their menu seasonally so new surprises would be amazing. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Sure if you're wanting something light to eat that is the price of two people definitely go here! My partner made reservations for this restaurant that was a treat for my birthday, but they sat us at the bar in stools... what's the point of making the reservation then??? I got to watch the staff hard at work, for bare minimum of food. The price is unjustifiable for the amount of food and the quality!!!!! Like everything tasted so bland and we had joked we were fighting over pinto beans due to how hungry we still were!! We ordered Lomo de Bellota (not worth it) Pan con tomate (please take this off the menu) Gambas Al ajillo (fancy words for 6 shrimp) Butifarra con potaje (waitress recommended for something "filling", was not filling) I'm sorry to give such a low rating but past the Spanish words, if you think of the flavor of the foods you're gonna keep thinking cause why did we pay so much for ingredient based meals??? I'm never recommending or going here, not even for a snack, drinks okay.

Wow, wow! If you ask the average person in Greenville, what their favorite restaurant is, many will…read moreshout THE LAZY GOAT!!! I was reluctant to buy into the hype... however, it's WELL deserved. The service and selection was stellar. You will hear people rave over the goat cheese balls. Their reputation proceeds them, but honestly, I don't think that they are a "must order". I had many other dishes there that are far more worth ordering, such as... *The Lamb (starter) * Brussels Sprouts * Tahini Caesar The Wine list is very extensive, and access to a top-tier sommelier is great. We absolutely adored our server, Nicolas who made our experience as fun, festive, and informative as could be! My only "note" to management would just be that besides the natural setting (the perfect Reddy River), the indoor ambience is SO lackluster. The restaurant could really stand to have an aesthetic revamp. And I hate to comment on the interior of the restrooms since it is seemingly so obsolete to "restaurant review," but I simply feel compelled to comment. The restrooms are barely a step up from a public pool/beach bathroom shack. Too harsh? No, must be said. Nonetheless, I cannot wait to come back and highly recommend everyone try this GEM of a restaurant (just pee before;)

It's an interesting menu. Delicious. Fun. Jennifer was fantastic…read more If we lived here, I'd put it on our regular rotation.
