I began with a bowl of nearly the best hot and sour soup I have had to start a meal! Dark rich broth full of veggies and eggs and chicken. No tofu in this one. Lemongrass for a perfectly balanced flavor profile. Moving on to my wife's spicy tuna roll. It was maybe a little salty for me but she thoroughly enjoyed the appetizer. This brought us to the main course. I don't venture too far from my favorites, and today was not to change that. I love sesame chicken and I'm glad I do because this again, was one of the best I have had! And Ruth? She had the largest plate of chicken pad Thai I have seen...EVER! And of course I had to try it. The service was quick. We ordered several dishes and they were ready in about 15-20 minutes (on a Wednesday). The food tasted fresh and there were generous portions. We ordered 4 sushi rolls (2 Philly and 2 Cali). These were a highlight for me. My frie ds got the combo fried rice and combo egg foo yun. Those were well balanced with veggies and meat but too much soy/salt for my taste. My partner got the spicy garlic beef. It was spicy and garlicky and delicious except there was too much oil. The thai egg rolls were also saturated in oil which took away from the flavor. I got the green curry with chicken. It was very salty and lacked green curry, coconut, and lime/lime leaves aka the essentials of a nice curry. You can tell in the other photos how light the green curry is. It's consistent in that way. There was a distinct lack of strong flavor -- they were a bit bland -- but the low prices and large portions made up for it! These two meals lasted us two days. We ordered the green curry with chicken, chicken fried rice, chicken pad Thai and spicy garlic mixed veggies. The food was delicious, fresh with large portions. For a table of 4 peeps, we even had leftovers. The service was on par, friendly and attentive. The Thai iced tea I felt was watered down. I am normally used to the chalky flavor and it wasn't there. I would make a change to the menu. The front of the menu is all Chinese food and dim sum. The back is Thai food. Disappointing. Food was average at best. I was craving Thai food and sushi and there just aren't many food options, so I decided to give this restaurant a try again. Overly priced for mediocre food. I grew up local around here and Thai Chili was the best place for sushi to me on this valley side. My favorite roll is the Rifle roll and it's not the same as it used to be. The tomyum soup isn't made fresh anymore either like it used to be. I have gone to various different Thai restaurants and eaten a lot of the dish: Pad Thai but this is hands down the best and I am thoroughly surprised and satisfied with my meal and the service. I think what set this Pad Thai apart from the others is the distinct taste since most of the time it's made up of the same ingredients. Sweetness was very prominent in the sauce which was a little different from the tangy flavor I usually get from Pad Thai. I tried to quietly and calmly reason with him to even just take 1/2 off the price of her food but he just kept yelling at us And throwing his arms all over. So I paid. After moving back to the Western Slope of Colorado I was surprised to find a restaurant of this caliber in Rifle. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service is thoughtful and very accommodating. When being told by countless amount of people that this place has the best sushi in my area, I had to give it a try. I ordered takeout, I got the famous rifle roll which was delicious. This roll in wrapped in an interesting fried like texture, which really adds an interesting type of texture that you don't normally see on sushi, this roll is one of my favorites. I also got a dynamites roll, which was also very delicious, I definitely recommend this place. Huge portions! Food was all good, not great. Staff were all very nice and accommodating! I'd return because the service was excellent. For starters they bring out wonton crisps and sweet and sour sauce for free. Like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. We got the Massaman curry and the portion was at least double (triple?) what we get at other restaurants. It had NO spice to it so ask for spicy if you want heat. Jumbo Walnut Shrimp came with maybe 12 huge shrimp. Too much sauce but flavors were good. Hot and Sour soup was very peppery. Chicken Satay was good. Both sushi rolls (spicy tuna and Cali roll) were good. Fed 5 of us, including two teenage boys, and still have food leftover. All that, including tip, less than $60. read more
