I've been a patron of this restaurant since they opened their doors in the mid-1990s, and I am still a patron of their restaurant for a reason: they do. Not. Miss. They are incredible with their craft, and their medium is food. I'm beyond impressed with the quality, taste, service, treatment, speed, serving size, and everything else this restaurant offers. It's a small, family-owned restaurant, with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and when you're there, they treat you as though you are a part of their family. They show love, kindness, respect, and care. Came here for lunch, to go only. We got drunken noodles medium, and pineapple fried rice mild. The medium is super spicy! But the pineapple fried rice was good! I have only had their takeout, so I can't speak to the service, interior, or other dishes at this establishment. But their peanut noodles were excellent. A lot of carry out Asian food is lacking in this area, but this place delivers on the genuine flavors you want from Thai cuisine. Pretty much the only Thai restaurant in the area and for good reason: no one else can compete. Pad Thai, drunken noodles, Mongolian noodles, and gai tom gha soup are some of my favorites. Perfect speed for takeout with great service. Coming from the west coast this is authentic as you can get in the Midwest. No frills and no tricks just really good Thai food. read more

My husband and I ate some Thai here once, a while back. Had some pad pak and a pad Thai here. My husband said his pad Thai was good. I had a bite of it, it wasn't too bad. My pad pak wasn't bad either, it had decent flavor and a decent amount of in it chicken too. Sauce wasn't too runny. read more

I don't give out one star reviews often. I reserve them, usually, for places that have made me ill or have employees that have been flat out mean. This has got to be the first one dolled out due to bad flavor alone. The food didn't make me sick and the employees are nice, but the food is just awful. If you went to the house of an old lady in the midde of no where who's most "exotic" meal was spaghetti and asked her to make chicken fried rice, it might turn out better than the chicken fried rice here. I think they used at least half a bottle of soy sauce in the rice. The rice comes out a dark brown color and is just awful. I've also tried the pad thai, and it was horrible too. read more

Unfortunately my husband and I did not enjoy the food here. We ordered number 37 Pad Se Ewew with beef. It was made with pad Thai noodles instead of thick rice noodles. The pad se ewew was watered down. We also ordered number 41 Peanut Noodles with tofu. The sauces was also watered down and very, very sweet. The Tom yum soup we felt was over powdered with bamboo flavor. We did move from Chicago IL so maybe this is how the Thai food is here in MI? read more

I have dined at Thai Express about ten years ago. They were my first Thai meal that a CB friend introduced me to. Since that time I had stopped going simply because no one in my family like Thai anything. Today, I went back and ordered their Pad Talay, scallops, shrimp, green peppers, mushrooms, and shredded bamboo cooked in Thai Yellow Curry sauce. My weakness is any Thai dish that uses cocoanut milk. It is so sweet and savory that my taste buds SCOLDED me for hours for not taking catty out here! Publicly shamed by my own sense of taste! Shameful! I shall repent and return. This is such a dining pleasure that I forgot. I will still enjoy dining out with my dining partner but forced to eat alone, I'll sneak back and surprise my mouth! Our second visit here for carry-out and they continue to impress! I surprised my wife with Thai Express ordering her favorite Chinese dish to give theirs a try. Their Sesame Chicken was the best I've had. Not overly sweet with plenty of sesame oil and sesame seeds and a touch of vinegar if I'm not mistaken. The breading was light but crispy (for carry-out), the vinegar seeming to be their thing here. It's the x-factor ingredient that makes everything just a little more flavorful and brighter tasting. My Peanut Curry had a little too. It was also fantastic! This time I made certain to get two orders of their egg rolls. Once upon a time Kim's Garden's in Novi had the best egg rolls. That was before their basement fire that consumed their staff of illegal aliens of course. Thai Express' are even better. They use cabbage, and no sprouts, but also put a little carrot and some other tasties in there. They're fricking amazing, rolled snug and fried perfectly! Though I will be back in Thailand later next week, I had to get my Thai craving in advance. With me in Brighton today with some business, I spotted Thai Express and stopped in for a sample. Small place in a corner shopping with convenient and ample parking. Dined in for lunch. Ordered the Gang Pha which is described as "Sliced bamboo shoots, baby corn, eggplant, and string beas cooked in a Thai red curry sauce". It comes with a choice of Hot& Sour soup or Egg drop. I opted for the H&S. The Hot and sour soup wad remarkably good. Rich, thick...hot just right and soured more than other places. The Gang Pha curry was served up in about ten minutes. I knew right away this.place had a hood chance of being authentic by the aroma of Nam pla (aged fish sauce) which was profound. That's okay with me, but might turn off some others. The dish itself was fair. Chicken was a little gamey and tough. Sauce was mild for ordering it "medium-hot". Way too much bamboo shoots as their taste over powered the curry. Green beans were very wrinkly: either cooked well in advance or were not fresh. I wasn't impressed overall by this dish. An adjacent table had some Pad Thai which looked pretty good. When I am in Brighton again, I'll give them another try. read more

Very disappointed. They skimped and left out ingredients in the preaw warn - no cucumbers or tomatoes as listed in the menu. Filled with onions and only a couple of bell peppers. The pad Thai was sweet and lemony. The pad cashew had no vegetables and was all onions. We also ordered fried rice, crab ragoons and spring rolls and none of it was very good. It's annoying they skip ingredients and fill it with onions. Won't return. read more

This review is solely on the food alone, the place is clean, they took necessary steps for Covid, and staff is kind and professional. But the food itself, is off. I ordered Pineapple Fried Rice, it was very very different from every other Pineapple Fried Rice I've had for the past two decades across the world. Their Pineapple Fried Rice was basically a soy sauce/sesame oil fried rice with pineapple in it, could not taste other flavors (besides the overly spicy hotness). Their spice level is also quite different, I usually eat spicy at most Thai places, but when I try a new place I start with medium just to test the waters. Their medium spice level is equivalent to hot on a regular spicy chart at Thai restaurants. It was so spicy it's hardly edible. I'm hoping to give this place another try, we'll see. read more

Atmosphere is lacking, clean and the one person waiting on people, busting tables, taking to go orders & helping to cook is busting her butt. The one person is incredibly nice & doing her very best but she is only in one person. Very cold in the dining area. No hot tea. Just water. Spring roll is just filled with cabbage. Rather tasteless. Served very hot & fresh. The wrap seemed thick for a spring roll. The peanut curry noodles were amazing. Delicious! Lots of peanut flavor and mildly spicy. The noodles weren't stuck together or mushy. The food is really good. Next time I'd do take out. I hope with more success they get a better location & more staff. I'd like to see hot tea or bubble tea on the menu too. Definitely worth trying the food, just don't dine in. read more

We got take out and all the good was hot and fresh. I had pad see ew and I would definitely recommend. The noodles had excellent flavor. FYI they use small noodles like the ones I usually see in pad thai not the big flat ones that I expected but still yummy! My husband got some curry peanut noodles which were also very good. Other family members had the drunken noodles, again all was delicious. We will definitely come back. read more

I had such high hopes for their entrees, but my drunken noodles (ordered at medium heat) were spiced with primarily black pepper which made it difficult to enjoy, I like spice but I had assumed it would be spiced with chili. We've ordered take out from here before and I don't remember it being great, but it wasn't bad either. So, we ordered take out again last night. I got Pad See Ew and my husband had chicken pad Thai. Both of our dishes were very dry and bland. We also ordered a side of Rangoons and spring rolls and got one tiny side of side of the sauce for both of these appetizers. I'm not sure why this place is so skimpy with the sauces. If we were dining in, these are things that could have probably been easily fixed, but when doing pick up, it's frustrating to get all the way home and then realize they didn't give you enough of something. Love this place but have to drop a star. Went yesterday and they ran out of the thin noodles I like..I don't prefer the others. I was really craving the food too so I opted to get regular noodles..kind of disappointing. I would have felt better with a discount for inconvenience but, probably shouldn't have ordered at all. Also , last time I went I asked if they had shrimp chips...they do but they charged me $4 for a bowl...that's a bit much. I could understand 2 but 4..no way! Should have asked. Ugh! read more
