The first thing I noticed was just how clean this place was. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing at all. The food came out quickly, about 15 mins. Several people came in to pick up to go orders, I choose to sit inside and don't regret it at all. The lemongrass chicken was delicate and fragrant, the flavor of the lemongrass became more and more intense as I ate. The chicken was moist and cooked perfectly, the vegetables were also done very nicely, cooked but still crisp. I was surprised how well the peanut sauce went with the broccoli, I'll definitely be having that combination again soon. This was a fresh dish that wasn't heavy at all but still quite filling due to the portion size. The pad thai was the star of the evening, I never get this dish but my girlfriend does every time and I always taste and this was by far the best I've had. The noodles were cooked just right, the sauce was well coated over them all, the chicken had good bite to it, seemed to be a different cut than I had in my dish. The portion size is just staggering, My girlfriend got full, and still had two more portions to eat after we got home!!! As far as the price, this is one of the less expensive thai places in the area and in my opinion the best quality for the price. What a difference a few years makes. I haven't been here for a while and was really wanting some good Thai food and was able to find that here. The Heaven appetizer is one of the lightest examples I can remember. Cooked to perfection, light and crispy. I recommend their peanut sauce instead of the standard offering, very tasty. I had the Panang Curry with beef, medium hot. I was happy with the meal, the level of spice was perfect for me, fresh crispy veggies and tender beef with a side of rice The wife had chicken Pad Thai. She liked the flavor, the chicken was tender, everything came together well. Neither of us were able to finish our meal and we are both looking forward to enjoying the leftovers later. The place is clean, not fancy and comfortable. Service was cheerful and the hot tea was Thai, while that shouldn't be a surprise, we both really appreciated the flavors. I would have to say that my overall experience with this Thai restaurant was disappointing and I will probably not be going back. Upon entering the small very plain restaurant and some things become instantly noticeable, the first being that the place is empty at the peak lunch hour. When entering the door you notice it is not much warmer inside than out on this frigid winter day and my first thought was "are they in business anymore?". After a brief wait at the counter someone emerges from the back and says hello sit where you like and I noted that she was wearing a winter jacket. We sat down and menus were brought out to us with a blasé greeting. The place was chilly, like no heat at all chilly. Upon ordering the main courses it was informed to the server that no onions were wanted in the food at all. An appetizer was then ordered as well. The appetizer was brought out and it was full of onions, easy mistake to make and frankly happens all of the time. Doesn't make it right, but you get used to it. I had ordered the pineapple fried rice and was brought out a generous portion. Taking a quick bite I notice it was lacking any real flavor so I went to the counter to find some siracha or peppers. The siracha bottle was empty so I asked if they had another, nope they were out. I asked for peppers and was told they only had the hot oil with pepper seeds. No worries I took it and some soy sauce back to my bounty. Putting some hot oil on my food I take a bite and realize I made a mistake. It tasted pretty old and the pepper seeds were rock hard. Removing them from my plate I ate the rice and soy sauce. Before leaving I went to use the bathroom and discovered that you couldn't shut the door all of the way and it was even colder than the outer room. Stage fright sets in, so out I go. While eating two other parties came in and ordered, I was happy to see them getting a bit more business. Paid the bill and really did not get a sense or feeling that the person helping us or other tables really gave a crap that we were there. I am not sure if this place is on the way out or what have you, but I do hope they can turn things around. read more

I remember going to Thai, Chinese and Indian restaurants growing up and somehow they always seemed to make the rice taste better than what you could cook at home. Nowadays many of us have rice cookers and easy access to wonderful varieties of Jasmine and Basmati rice so it isn't quite so magical. Just expected. So imagine my shock when I open up the rice, do a little sniff test, and BAM - smells like Uncle Ben's boil-in-a-bag rice? Can this be?!? Oh, the horrors! I went to this place on a recommendation from a coworker because I tend to go to the same two or three Thai places regularly. I ordered some of my usual dishes and nothing compared favorably -- salad rolls, chicken satay, curry, Pad Thai -- all meh. Although I've passed this restaurant many times on the way to the Dollar Store and Michael's, it wasn't until this past Fall that the yummy smells drew me in. One time eating there and I was hooked. After dining at the super thankful Thai restuarant up the road, I wasn't expecting much at this place. I mean how many good Thai restaurants can Oregon City/Gladstone support? The decor was typical - about as cheap as you can imagine yet it was very clean. The tables were covered in plastic with pictures of the dishes strategically placed underneath. What I found interesting is that only a few of the photos had the name of the dish accompanying them. I wasn't sure if they were just lazy with the other names or figured people should be able to figure out what the dish was. I ordered the panang curry with chicken. I didn't think about it until they brought out a heaping bowl of curry and another heaping bowl of rice, but they didn't ask how hot I wanted it. Oh well, it was seasoned perfectly for me. Hot enough to open the sinuses, but not so hot to make me start coughing (I know, quite a temperature gauge, huh?). There was actually more food than I could eat, but not really enough worth taking home so for the $10 it was worth it. The server took the time to ask how I liked my meal, how it compared to other Thai restaurants, and even offered up some suggestions for the next time I visit. Granted this is one of the first Thai places that I've been too... So take that as you will. But, it certainly has not been my only. IMO the peanut sauce here is to die for. Not watery, nice and thick. Probably a heart attack waiting to happen. Because of this, I happen to rate other Thai restaurants based on their Peanut Sauce. For the most part, all of the food is really good. They have a heat rating 1-5, 1 being mild and 5 being rather hot. Recommended heat is a 3. I like spicy tho, and my Wife always orders a negative 1. Shrug. We've pretty much ordered everything off the menu here, its all good. The curries are my favorite, and my wife loves the tofu salad wraps w/ extra peanut sauce. Parking is great, and they do have a public bathroom. Also, the mango sticky rice is yummy. So that was the good. The bad is the service. You basically have to ask for soda refills, and water refills come, but not frequently. You only get one refill on soda. Tea is extra, and only enough for 2 people. 4 people get 1 cup. Depending on the cook in the back, depends on the flavor of the food. If granny is cooking, Definitely order no more than a 3, or the spice WILL kill you. Good lord. We tried the red curry one time... Some of us couldn't finish it, and had to order the ice cream. Later when its time to use the restroom, you'll be thanking me. You'll be thinking "Come On Ice Cream." If its anyone else, 5 might be equal to a 2 or 3. So I usually check to see who is in the back for which heat rating I want. read more
