We have ordered take out twice now. The first order was so delicious, we decided to try again. Very disappointed this time. The duck pad thai does not look like the menu photo, which shows five succulent slices of duck. Our order was a dried out piece of leg that had as much bone as meat. $25 for maybe 2 ounces of duck on noodles. The spring rolls are advertised as mixed vegetables. lettuce, choice of meat with vermicelli rice noodle. What we got was 95 percent iceberg lettuce, a couple of small shrimp, one little basil leaf, a few slivers of carrots, and not one single strand of vermicelli noodle, not one. Certainly not what is shown in the menu photo. Not sure we will make another effort. read more

Very tasty! Went for lunch. They have an extensive lunch special menu. Menu is marked for gluten free items of which there were plenty. We had chicken pad thai and king Rama. Chicken was more tender than I've come to expect at Thai restaurants. Loved the garlic sauce. Lunch specials come with an egg roll which I enjoyed; they kindly substituted a cup of Korean soup for my celiac husband. Our waiter was friendly and GF knowledgeable. Setting was a bit more upscale than your typical Thai restaurant. read more

I have to say my partner and I stopped in on a yelp roulette type of date night. I am so glad we did it was like stepping into a relaxed environment with delicious aromas. We were treated amazingly and the staff was fast and friendly. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer all were better than we could have imagined. We are bringing our parents to come try it out as well as friends. I highly recommend this place and these days that can be so rare to find. read more

Dined in here yesterday and ordered the beef salad with a side of sticky rice, crab puffs and angel wings. I didn't really like 2/3 of those dishes. The crab puff wasn't crispy enough and the beef salad needed more fish sauce and lime juice. The angel wings were decent. My friend had the basil fried rice but he said it wasn't good and only ate half of it. I might just stick to the pumpkin curry next time. read more

Their newly remodeled space is very cute but we usually get take out here and it's great! Highly recommend the pineapple fried rice, nam khao, and pad see ew. Oh don't forget the tom yum soup and wonton soup. Lots of delicious choices. The owners are really nice and service is quick. Ordering online is very convenient. They did forget one dish last time but thankfully we caught it before we left and they promptly made it for us. read more

Why oh why?!? If you asked me yesterday this place was for sure 5 stars. Tonight... so rude, so late, order wrong....if someone had just said "hey, we're understaffed and things are slower than anticipated" or "we are out of the eye of round that comes with your soup, can we substitute something" instead of saying nothing... my review would be soo different. I called about the calmity and they said the would refund. No evidence as of yet. Gah!! It's so close to my house and the food is soo good usually. Why can't they just give decent and honest projections for pick up and exactly what I Ordered or communication as to why it has been altered?!? I am so broken hearted about this experience. Thai is my favorite and this place seemed to be legit for the last few months... until Tonight. UPDATE: I have received evidence of the refund from the owner herself plus a very sincere apology for tonight. Okay, I'm not made of stone and the food I normally sooo good... we'll try again. I really want to support local business trying to live in my community and raise a family in 2026.... This is hands down the best flavored thai food I have had, and I love thai food. The dishes are expertly made, and they have a decent size menu. Do yourself a favor and try the pineapple rice and the duck curry at the least. Service was good. The restaurant is small; only about 10 tables, but everything is pleasantly decorated, and there is relaxing music playing. They did have a bustling to go service, but they still took time to make our dishes flavorful and a treat for the eyes. read more

I was really craving thai and Vietnamese food and Magnolia did not disappoint! I had a very international and multicultural upbringing, and every time I try a new asian fusion restaurant it's a bit of a gamble on whether they will be able to feed the particular craving I have. We ordered rangoon/ crab puffs, honey lemongrass chicken, and tom kha soup and everything came out perfect. The interior is super cute and i would definitely recommend it for a date night. Outstanding! While the name says, Thai, they serve a variety of Asian dishes - Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, even some fusion. The food is fresh, made with high quality ingredients, and it's delicious! We eat with our eyes first, and Magnolia Thai uses gorgeous veggies in all colors of the rainbow, which is also how I like to eat. The vibrant colors immediately set the tone, providing a beautiful palette for your eyes and tastebuds! I could eat here every week! Typically I get Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) when I am craving Thai because I love the wide rice noodles, veggies and heat. My first time here, the Drunken Yakisoba caught my attention. They stir fry udon noodles with lots of spicy basil, onions bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, egg and both shrimp and chicken. OMG. Fantastic! I loved everything about this dish - the spice, the choice of veggies, and especially the perfectly cooked shrimp and tender chicken. This will be my go-to-dish here and the food I will crave that will bring me back again and again. My friend had the Penang curry and raved about the flavorful curry with a bit of heat, the very tender chicken, and veggies. served over your choice of rice - jasmine, white or brown, this is a satisfying dish. We shared the papaya salad which was crisp, bright, had the perfect amount of heat, a bit of sour, and a generous amount of chopped peanuts on top. I love a good papaya salad and this one hit the mark. So many items I want to try like the crab fried rice, the ginger lovers stir-fry, and a repeat of the Drunken Yakisoba. Recommended by one of our friends for take out since it was close by and it did not disappoint. We had a pretty large to-go order for 6 people and they had the food ready within 30 minutes. Everything we had was decent if not great. We tried the green curry, yellow curry, pad see ew, cashew chicken, and sweet basil stir fry. As well as the crab rangoon and pot stickers. The owner was sweet enough to throw in a 4 complimentary salad rolls given the size of our order which wasn't necessary but definitely appreciated. Only note was the pad kra pao didn't have enough basil compared to other places I have. I did find the pricing a little strange. I want to start off by saying that the ladies working were super nice. The food on the other hand was not. We ordered yellow curry and stir fried teriyaki chicken. The curry had zero flavor. The heat was the level we ordered but just no flavor, it was so bland. Yellow curry is one of our go to Thai dishes. The stir fry was like teriyaki soup. There was so much watery sauce it was spilling over the edges of the plate. Just plain disappointing. Also be aware the menu lists pops/soda as "fountain drinks", but it's actually by the can and not fountain so no refills. Overly priced for a can, we would not have ordered if we'd know. The chicken lollypops were good, we may get those only to go sometime. read more

Had the #5 Asian Pumpkin Tempura Appetizer and it was crispy and tasty. Nice portions. Took half home with me as I am dining alone tonight. Then ordered the #40 Ginger Lover Stir Fry Not Spicy (as I am a wimp) with the Combo Meat of Chicken Pork and Beef. Delicious. Rice portion was plentiful as well. Loved my ice tea and the tin mug of ice water was nice and cold and refreshing too. First time in. Live in the neighborhood and will absolutely be back!!! Third visit tonight. For an inexpensive neighborhood Thai place, I can't imagine what could be improved. Tonight I had the Mango Curry. Last visit was Garlic Black Bean chicken. Also had a stir fry dish some time ago. Each time the food was fresh, attractive, ample, and delicious. Service was attentive, friendly, and quick. My husband and I found this restaurant on yelp and we ordered the pad Thai with shrimp and the drunken noodles and while both were good the drunken noodles just had a really amazing flavor. In fact we're heading there to pick up another order right now we will definitely be back, probably again and again. This place should be supported by the local community, hardcore! The owner and their family were so attentive and kind when I came here with my mom for dinner. Food was insanely delicious. My mom took one bite of her crispy duck breast and her eyes got wide and she slowly looked up at me and said "O....M....G!!!" I tried it and yup, she was right. Their crab rangoon (they may call them by a different name here) were gorgeously delicious. I got the pumpkin pineapple mango curry (I think the name on the menu was "Surprise Curry) and it was one of the best curries I've ever had. It was "eyes roll back in your head" kind of delicious, with each bite. It had great savory/saltyflavor, with the tender chicken and pumpkin and peppers, then tiny bursts of tangy sweetness from the small bites of pineapple and mango. This was an epic marriage of a sweet and savory. Whenever I'm down in the Clackamas/Milwaukie area visiting my parents...we WILL be coming back to Magnolia read more
