The portions were large and everything looked great, the meat quality was fine. Although all the sauces were weird and bland. General tso chicken was weirdly sweet with no spice, the orange chicken was almost completely flavorless with a hint of sweetness and my hot and sour soup which I was excited to try, was also oddly sweet with no real flavor. read more

The food is always piping hot every time I visit, and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Their lunch specials are a great deal because they're very reasonably priced and always come with a lot of food. The interior is a nice dark lighting that's very relaxing. Our Go-To for lunch. Prices are very reasonable, and while we have four of five favorites, all choices are good. Entree, soup, rice and spring roll for about fourteen dollars. In our opinion, the Hot and Sour soup is the best on the West coast, and we eat a lot of Chinese. ;-) read more

This has been my family's go to Chinese restaurant for many years. I would always recommend the Mongolian beef and crab puffs to anyone who goes as those are my favorite dishes from here! I have eaten many other dishes here as well and can honestly say I gave never had a dish that I didn't like. I have also ordered takeout from here several times and the quality is always the same as what I would receive in the restaurant. What this place lacks in food they make up for in covid response. You call, they ask how you want to pay, what your car looks like and your name. You drive up, the food goes on the table and the money in the can. Now for the food. The best part of the meal was the hot and sour soup. I've tasted this particular one before. It is both hot and sour. The worst was the spring roll. Full of nasty tasting cabbage. Ew The general Tso was not bad. Not good either. The chunks of chicken were really big so the flavor didn't really get to everything uniformly. I felt the color was unnecessarily red. I'm curious how Chinese restaurants are doing fried rice without dine in. Because the best fried rice is from old rice. This was definitely fresh rice. Probably a better practice but not the best fried rice. Probably wouldn't return but I appreciate the efforts. read more

We've been going there regularly for several years and I just realized I've never given them the kudos they deserve. I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to restaurants. Their Hot & Sour soup is to die for. For me, if a Chinese restaurant doesn't have this on their menu, I won't even go there. They have the best, and it's ALWAYS steamy hot and, for takeout, in a solid container and very tasty. Their fried shrimp is always light, and airy... a little greasy at times, but I don't know how that's to be avoided for deep fried shrimp. They always taste fresh. All of the menu items that we've tried over the years have been good. The meats are always fresh and tender, the vegetables fresh, and the sauces are all good. We always order take out so I can't really say how the dining service is, but we've always been satisfied. Prices are reasonable, although they have been going up slightly but fairly steadily over the recent past. In our opinion, they are the best of the few here in Oregon City. I think the takeout from this restaurant is great! I'm confused by some of the low reviews. We've been ordering the family dinner for three for years. It's exactly what I expect for Chinese takeout- tasty, substantial, and something I don't make at home. We get at about 2-3 meals out of an order. Can't imagine why this would have an avg of 3 stars. We have been going there for lunch for several years and missed it during the pandemic. Lunch is when we go, so that may be a difference, but particularly for lunch, it is great. Good variety of plates that come with soup, veggie roll and choice of rices. Always totally fresh to order, yet quick, and delicious. And to date, they are not price gauging like most others. Seems to a similar price as always, and worth it. That is hard to come by. I came to know Pine Garden during covid19. You could order via telephone and pick-up out front. I never did a review during covid because I thought it wasn't a fair representation of their restaurant. Since then, I have been able to eat-in and enjoy all elements of their efforts. Most recently, we welcomed a new addition to our family, so many relatives have been to town for visits. One evening, we had a party of 8 for dinner (I'm sure you know how difficult it is to get a large table on short notice) and with a quick phone call, Pine Garden welcomed us and sat us immediately upon arrival. Among our group were people from CA, NV and SC, all with different ideas about what "good" Chinese food is. I am pleased to report they (we) all came away having thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The orange chicken was really tasty without being too sweet. The broccoli beef was tender and the pork fried rice a hit, just to name a few of the items we ordered. The conscientious sever we had continued to wear a mask and I regret not getting her name for a positive review mention. We will certainly be going back to Pine Garden with small and large groups. I recently moved back to Oregon after living elsewhere for the last 20 years. I tried Pine Garden and I was not disappointed! I happened to use delivery and was astounded by how quickly my food arrived and that it was steaming hot! But more important everything was delicious! The best Beef and Broccoli I've had in many many years, the Barbecue Pork was absolutely perfect and tender and the fried rice was also perfect as was the fried shrimp! For $15 you get your choice of soup, two appetizers an entree and fried rice and the portion of my entree, the Beef and Broccoli was huge! More than enough for two meals. Even their fortune cookies are good! Light and crispy! I've already been back twice since my delivery, it's that good! They are definitely my go to Chinese restaurant now! read more

When I first started eating at Pine Garden Restaurant the food was very good, and the service was ok. I really liked the lemon chicken. A couple times I ordered it to go, and by the time I get it. The package has been smashed and leaked all over the bag. And, when you try to talk with them the customer service is horrible. I keep going there because I loved the lemon chicken, but now they changed how it's done. It used to be a whole breaded and fried breast. But now they are little chunks that are probably the end pieces of chicken, and they are all clumpy peices of flour with stringy chicken mixed with it. And, then the sauce bring soaked up by the flour. On top of poor packing with poorer service. I'm done with pine garden restaurant. read more

Pine Garden is an unmitigated disaster. If you have a choice between starving and dining (or getting take-out) from here, starving is a far better choice. I got several take-out items to enjoy at "12 Bridge Ciderworks" in the same shopping center (12 Bridge has Pine Garden's and other establishments' menus as they do not serve food themselves), and this turned out to be a HUGE mistake. Despite their advice that my order would be ready in 15 minutes, it took 30. The best thing we had was the hot mustard. It was potent, and would be the only item I'd consider stopping in for again. Everything else was disgusting. The wontons were leathery and dry. They literally tasted like they were cooked a week or two prior, sat in the refrigerator or out on a counter, and were microwaved before they sold them to me. My friend described them as "dreadful" and "awful", and the dog at 12 Bridge spat it out, too. The General Tso's chicken tasted of nothing but paprika and vinegar, and was a soggy, gooey mess. It was piping hot temperature wise (stupidly hot, but not at all spicy), and again, tasted like it had been cooked long before and was microwaved to death before service. My friend's combo dinner was equally horrible. The broccoli in his beef was a dark, dreadful, army green, again, showing all the signs of being inexcusably overcooked. Don't waste your time or money at this horrible establishment. read more

The chicken and green beans had all green beans and literally just a few really thin shavings of chicken, not even one bite size piece. I would NOT recommend this place. Hopefully it was just one of those day kind of things, but the service wasn't nearly as warm and friendly as we have experienced in the past. We went in for dinner and both had the make your own combo. The hot and sour soup was good although my preference would have been for a hotter hot and even a more sour sour soup. The spring roll was hot, crisp and a nice combination of veggies. The sweet and sour chicken was fresh and crisp. My kung pao chicken was closer to ideal. They have a good mix of veggies in a somewhat spicy sauce. We had to ask twice to get the fried rice vs steamed, but it was better than average for Oregon Chinese (sadly not a very high bar out in the sticks). The wife had chicken Subgum and thought it was very flavorful with a reasonable and noticeable garlic influence. The portion sizes on the dinner combo menu are huge. Tomorrow's lunch is covered with tonight's leftovers. If you are in the area, it's a good choice and still our preference over the local competition. If you want a real Chinese cuisine experience, keep going north to Stumptown. You will probably pay more than here, but it's for a reason. read more

The boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday night at 6 and had no problem getting seated. We were greeted after 5 minutes, which was kind of annoying. Once we got our order taken, our appetizers came out 2 minutes later. They were hot and fresh! Delish!! The crab puffs were good! The spring rolls were spring rolls. Nothing special. We got our food. I had the dinner combo (tons of food!), and so good! I ate half of it, took the other half home. The only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 was the fact that I kept having to ask for water refills and the waiter really need to pull his pants up. Sag city! We will go back for sure! read more

Almost gave up trying to find this restaurant, street addresses are kind of whacky going from a four digit number to 5 digit number in a block or so. I just happened to catch a glimpse of their sign after passing by for the second time. It,s behind Coopertown pub. Prices are average and the service was very good. Really enjoyed the hot and sour soup. I also had the Kung Pao shrimp and chicken with pork fried rice and a spring roll. All of the food was much better than average but the portions were somewhat smaller than our other favorite Chinese restaurants otherwise I would most likely give them 5 stars.
