We ate at Sawadee several times this winter of 2012 when we toured Stockholm.
It's really an authenthic Thai place, where you can sample many Thai dishes at once. Their very big menu is displayed on the wall with photographs, so you can easily choose, just don't overdo it, especially if you are hungry. The staff speaks understandable English (didn't try French, though).
It's never crowded (amazingly), so you can choose where to seat, and take your time. It's not really a restaurant, but rather a canteen, so you get your servings at the counter when they are ready - no waiters. But you definitely get a decent quality for your buck.
Many Swedes seem to check in and ask for a takeaway.
Just across the street (really, five meters away) is a Thai/Chinese food store with more authentic Thai/Chinese foodstuff a seasoned Western Foodie can imagine, so here's the reason why Sawadee displays such a wide a menu.
On a negative note - you have to pay for tap water if you ask for some, but the place is so unexpensive that I can't really blame them for it. Think about 100 Kr. per adult to get stuffed.
Definitely worth visiting, a great budget Thai canteen. read more
