I was so excited to find Thai food during my visit to Alabama! The food here tasted very close to the Thai food in California. The service was fantastic. The waiter was so excited about our authentic pronunciation of the food items. He made sure we had everything we needed and it was very comfortable. The ambiance was very clean, calm, and sophisticated. We ordered: Tom Yum Soup w/Chicken - 7/10 - the broth was flavorful and tasted authentic but it was missing a lot of the ingredients I typically see in Tom yum soup such as bamboo shoots, tomatoes, onions, baby corn, etc. Pad Khee Mao with Rice Noodles - 7/10 - this normally comes with egg noodles but I usually have it with rice noodles due to having a gluten sensitivity. They accommodated that and I asked for extra spicy. It was very spicy indeed which was a surprise! Overall it was good but the texture of the noodles did not seem fresh to me. Pad See Ew - 8/10 - this dish was pretty good! It was a little on the sweet side but that's not bad at all. It was our favorite here. I love spice so the vinegared jalapeños were excellent! If they're not on the table, you just have to ask them and they'll bring some out.

This is my new favorite Thai restaurant. Finally somewhere in Huntsville who doesn't make the Ton Yum soup sweet! It's perfect. The parking is a little bit of a hassle. But once you get that figured out everything is great. Staff was very very friendly. The prices were reasonable and the food was amazing. I got the pad prig poa with chicken and that was amazing too. I looked that they give you a choice between white or Brian rice. Thai tea was great too! I will be back!

Food-Thai flavors are there. It was a delicious noodle dish. The sweet sticky rice with custard was less than satisfactory, however, such a small portion of rice that they squish down in the middle for some reason & the custard is SALTY- not normal. They charge $5 for less than 1/2 a mango (sliced) mangos are 5 for $10 at the grocers or 10 for $10 so it's simply not worth the cost. Thai tea is delectable & authentic. Have it the true Thai way-with cream. There is ambiance here, quiet atmosphere. Friendly service my 1st & 2nd visit. Overall, this place is far to expensive for the amount of food you get. Small Thai noodle dish =$15.99 for one person without a drink, apps, or dessert. EVERY VEGETARIAN dish is the same so for true VEGANS & VEGETARIANS, you have very little choices & for stir fried vegetables or tofu, your meal starts at $12 and up. Never been to a Thai restaurant that served most of their dishes with only beef or pork. PLEASE ADD MORE CHICKEN & VEGGIE OPTIONS (e.g. a Lab/Laab salad should be offered with chicken always). THE spring rolls RIDICULOUS! C'mon they're the size of a toddlers thumb & that's not normal; photos make 'em look bigger y'all but nah uh, they're a pop-bite. The search for a great, authentic Thai restaurant in Huntsville, AL is still on. PLEASE STOP ADJUSTING THE FLAVOR OF THE DISHES FOR "LOCALS," as it was stated to us, KEEP IT AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD THUS PROVIDING AN AUTHENTIC THAI EXPERIENCE & FLAVOR. Because of the high cost, low options, this will only be a once in awhile stop for us.

Thai Garden is a cozy little restaurant that's been around forever - I only say this because I remember having it as a super picky child and not liking it some 15 years ago! They moved to 5 Points in 1993. 27 years in one location is pretty darn good for a restaurant. Now that I'm no longer a picky child and am instead a huge fan of Thai food, it was only a matter of time before I decided to try Thai Garden again. We had them for carryout for lunch on Friday, and we enjoyed their food. Carryout was easy and seamless -- food ready 15 minutes after I called, staff super friendly and polite. Parking is a little difficult here due to the crowded nature of 5 Points, so plan ahead or hope you get lucky. The inside of the restaurant is cozy, if a little dim, and people were spaced very far apart at the tables. We had the Pad See Ew with chicken (my fave), a Thai iced tea, and the hot and sour wings. Food wise, the hot and sour wings were the best thing. It's an appetizer, not a meal, so not a huge serving, but the wings were very meaty and the sauce struck a good balance between spicy and sweet/sour. The Pad See Ew was alright. Not my favorite version of the dish in town -- the brown sauce isn't as flavorful as some other places. Or maybe there just wasn't enough of it for me, I'm not sure. One fun thing is that Thai Garden makes theirs with Chinese broccoli / kale, so the vegetables are a good bit less bulky and slightly slimier than broccoli Americans are used to. I enjoyed the change of pace in that regard but was really missing some of the flavors you get at other places. The Thai iced tea was delicious and might be my favorite restaurant Thai tea in the area. Overall, while I'd probably try a curry or something different the next time I go, and while this isn't my absolute favorite Thai joint in Huntsville, for consistency and convenience Thai Garden is a good option.

So this was my first time to the Big Bowl Thai, and my family have been regulars. I do have to say,…read morethe 1 star is only because the basil fried rice was pretty delicious. We were seating fairly quickly and when we got there it was just one other table, the waitress took out drink order and was really confusing about the diet coke (I am assuming they were out of the syrup but we asked for diet coke and she said yes then said coke so we were like no diet, and she said no, so we asked if she had diet and she said Coke) so we opted for unsweet tea. We placed our orders and my mom and sister received their food and then the waitress disappeared. Finally another woman came to the table and said the food was being prepared, but after 25 mins (my mom and sister finished their meals basically) my fried rice was brought out. Then not even two seconds after the other waitress brought the food, our original waitress came and took my sister's plate while she was still eating the banana roll. It was pretty awkward, no apologies, no nothing so idk if this is a normal occurrence or the first day for the waitress or if there was an issue but new tables came in and sat down and received their food all before mine came out. About 6 to go orders went out as well. I would've expected them to say something as an update but we were left in the dark. Overall i dint know if I would be back, the service was really bad, and i dint think that food makes up for the lack of service.

We were promptly seated and had our orders taken. We got chicken satay, gyoza, beef salad, pad thai, red curry and two sides of rice. Overall this is a good restaurant and we visit semi-regularly. I wouldnt say it is perfect though. Downsides for me: limited lunch menu (with smallish portions), hours change pretty regularly (they have a break between dinner and lunch), they stopped serving alcohol and most egregious: they don't have Coke Zero. But seriously, unlike most places they often dont ask you what spice level you want on a dish. My request for 'Thai Hot' resulted in a moderately spiced dish that required extra doses of chili flakes, which is sad. Prices are on the higher end for a Thai restaurant with a lot of add on fees (brown rice is a $2.00 upcharge, etc). Those small complaints aside, the food is good and the service is mostly very good. The restaurant is usually quiet and not super crowded. If you're in the mood for Thai I would definitely check them out!

Kati Thai Cuisine in Gadsden is your first and last stop for Authentic Thai in Gadsden!!…read more We were in town visiting our grandson and were craving Real Thai food. This little place is exactly the kind of hidden gem you hope to find--completely unassuming from the outside, a true "hole in the wall," but serving absolutely incredible food with stellar service inside! We started with the Nam Sod, and it instantly took me back to my childhood. It was served the traditional way with crisp cabbage leaves for scooping up every bite of the spicy, flavorful ground pork. Fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong; which is my scale for measuring a Thai restaurant's authenticity, and it was perfection. The broth had that unmistakable umami flavor with just the right balance of spice, tanginess, and aromatics. The prawns were large, fresh, and cooked perfectly along with the perfect mix of herbs. My husband ordered the Pad Kra Pow with chicken at a FOUR-PEPPER chili heat, and it was exactly what he was hoping for--bold, spicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Our daughter stuck with her okd favorite, Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken and shrimp. She's quite the rice connoisseur, and her enthusiastic thumbs-up said everything that needed to be said! The service made the experience even better. Our sweet blonde server was warm, attentive, and even took the time to share travel tips and local points of interest around the area, making us feel like welcomed guests instead of just customers. Great food, friendly people, generous portions, and authentic flavors--everything you hope for when you're looking for Thai cuisine. We'll absolutely be back again before we leave Gadsden!

First, I judge Thai places on their ability to make a good Pad Thai... call it unfair, but that's what I do. Their version is seasoned (I got it spicy, they delivered without burning my whole body out; but I did have a decent sweat on me) and not oily at all. It's the perfect blend of taste without creating an oil slick in your mouth. Lunch came with soup, a small side salad, and Thai spring rolls for under $14. That's value to me, for the price of what fast food places nearly cost and getting a legit full meal that is worlds better than some greasy fast food is another sign to me that there is something special here. The staff was friendly, prompt, and courteous. It may look like a hole in the wall or not overly fancy... because it is not. It is clean, well kept, and has decor that matches the theme. It's not trying to be something that it isn't. The focus is on the food and ensuring people enjoy the food and experience if you are dining in. I will be back. I will get the Pad Thai again. I hope it's just as good or even better than the first time. This is definitely not a one and done kind of place for how good the food is and the prices.

Having spent time on the West Coast where Thai food is everywhere, I have definitely had much better, but for the South it is decent enough. I ordered the Pad Thai Beef, the Masaman Chicken Curry, and the Phuket Orange Peel Chicken. The Pad Thai Beef looked good but the sauce could have used more flavor. It was a little on the bland side and did not quite have that punch of seasoning that usually makes Pad Thai stand out. The Masaman Chicken Curry was ok. The sauce itself was decent and comforting, but it could have used more peanuts for that rich nutty flavor the dish is known for. Not bad but a little underwhelming in my opinion. The Phuket Orange Peel Chicken was probably the most underwhelming dish. Felt like it was basically sliced nuggets with canned pineapples chunks, onions, & bell peppers. It was not terrible by any means but it did not feel like it was made with much love or depth of flavor. This place might impress someone who has never really tried Thai food before. For me it was more of a meh experience overall. Not bad but not something I would go out of my way for when I am craving really good Thai food.
