I've been going to Thai House for about 3 years now and I've yet to be disappointed by the food or the service. Granted, it gets CRAZY busy during lunch at almost any time of the year. I'd recommend getting there early, though the wait isn't too bad. The restaurant itself does get a little noisy during the busy times, so keep that in mind. The family also goes on vacation to Thailand during the summer, so please keep that in mind that they are not open year-round. I just find this to be refreshing! The food has always tasted wonderful to me - the Pad Thai is incredible, as is all the curries. I know it isn't the same, but when I lived in China and came back to the States and craved some authentic food (not American Chinese food) this compared well in my opinion. After the meals you usually get something extra after paying like mentos or kit kats. You are also able to purchase some souvenirs at the counter like lucky cats. Went in for lunch. While eating our lunch I placed an order of chicken fried rice. When we got our check I asked for my to go order and was told the order would take another 30 minutes. What a joke. First this place will not answer their phone and thectell you s to go would take over an hour. We ate for 40 minutes and you top it off the spring rolls were so over done they were inedible and the cream cheese won tons were burnt. I have been going to this restaurant ever since it first opened. It is family owned. The owner and his family and staff are the very nicest people you will ever hope to meet. The environment is very relaxed, casual and the dining room is very small and clean. I usually end up conversing with patrons from the other tables. They are friendly too! The food is always wonderful and usually out to the table very quickly. They will adjust your order to your liking (hot, mild or medium). I was not a big fan of Thai food before I found Thai House. Now I crave the Thai House food. Besides being very tasty, the food is reasonably priced and you get a lot for your money. I am a big tea drinker and very picky about my tea. I can definitely say, their tea is very clean, clear and refreshing and they even have limes for you folks like me that love lime in your tea! Service is always excellent. The only thing I don't like is when they close the restaurant for a month each year in the Summer to go back home. I MISS MY THAI FOOD THEN! :) read more

The quick review: Great food, great service, clean restaurant, affordable price. Although Thai House has a very humble outward appearance, the restaurant was very clean, and the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Bangkok roll for an appetizer. I was surprised at first that it was served cold, but upon biting in, I was not dismayed with the cool temperature. The roll came with a spicy/tangy dipping sauce that was a great addition to the roll. The waitress also brought fried wontons to the table that had its own dipping sauce as well (although I did not partake in these). I ordered the chicken pad thai (hot), and it did not disappoint. There was a small amount of chopped cabbage, which I've never experienced in pad Thai, but regardless was a nice touch (the crisp cabbage offset the texture of the noodles nicely). I also liked that the pad Thai had a generous amount of the sauce. I should also mention that "hot" is not "Thai hot" but I was fine with that. To top off the excellent service, I was given a roll of mentos when I paid for my meal, which was extremely random, but a welcome surprise. Overall, I've had pad Thai from a variety of restaurants (both cheap and expensive) and this is best I've had. In Midland, TX? Whodathunkit. read more

Because the King and I had gotten so bad, I stopped going there and tried Thai House..............and was I glad I did!! I have been eating there for the past number of years and I have not had one bad meal there yet. I've tried about 10-15 different menu items there and they were all wonderful. My only complaint is that I wish it was bigger......there have been times at lunch when there was absolutely no room. I wish I could could give them 6 stars!! read more

Overall, the extremely poor customer service, poor soups and average food contributed to this low rating. Because this restaurant is one of three thai restaurants in and close to Midland (not much to choose from) and because the two people who were with me ate their meals and said it was okay...nothing to brag about, I didn't provide a one star rating. When I sent the sweet and sour soup back because I couldn't eat it, I requested the egg drop. The egg drop soup was equally poor. When we received the bill, we were charged for both soups. The gentleman at the cashier's desk said because we provided two soups you must pay for two. I have never experienced such a thing. Our food was bland and the largely sliced vegetables were bland as well. On the bright side, the waitresses were all attentive and behaved as you would expect a wait staff. If you eat here, they don't care if you are able to eat anything that you order. If you order it, you buy! read more

This is a nice ,little, very clean restaurant , not fancy ,just a very laid back atmosphere. We arrived shortly after five when they reopen for dinner crowds and there was only one other table besides us there but it quickly started to fill up and glad we got there early. The service was fast and very friendly . The food was outstanding, the Jasmine tea delicious , didn't have to sweeten it at all . We ordered three different plates and an order of egg drop soup . Everything was delicious! The owner was at the front checkout we told him it was our first time there when we left and we had enjoyed it , he was very sweet and gave us 3 Kit Kat chocolate bars to go. One star is fitting for this place. It's basically a take out place now. We've gone here for years, but the last time was really disappointing. We waited an hour for our food while order after order went out the door. The owner was telling the call ins they could pick up in 15 minutes! We think he now gets most of his business from one of those take out services that put in 10 orders at once and then delivers all over town. While we are in the place waiting. So if you are wanting his Thai food you better call in for take out. We also noticed his prices have tripled since the boom in income here. We paid $15 for a 2 egg rolls and a pot of tea. No offer to reduce the cost for inconvenience or coupon on a future visit. And yes we left without getting our food.! We have no patience for poor service and even worse customer service. It's hard to find good service during the oil boom, but Thai House has a friendly staff and great food.

Thai House was not grand at all. Odessa Donut rice noodle soup is way better than Thai House. The rice noodle soup at Thai House had broccoli, thick beef broth (doesn't taste fresh at all), cilantro, thick rice noodles, small bite size pieces of beef. It is like a beef and broccoli dish with added noodles and water. I was very disappointed with the rice noodle soup. The Thai tea was okay, better than Odessa Donut's Thai tea. I've also tried the pad Thai and it wasn't good. Very bland. My boyfriend said that the pad Thai smelled like a wet puppy. "Ewww." The egg roll also wasn't good. It tasted like frozen egg roll that was bought from the store and they just heat it up. But I did like their chip and dip. I thought it was creative and incorporated into the Thai House very well. Overall, I doubt I would eat there again. The cashier guy was very nice though, the Asian lady who sat us down didn't even know what to recommend us and instead told us to ask the waiter.
