Such a nice find along 30 on the way to Dallas. A truly refreshing break from all the awful chain restaurants along any major highway. Food was freshly prepared by the cook who came out to check on the quality of the meal. Steamed dumplings were homespun and hand crafted. Wonton soup had an excellent broth and dumplings. Veg spring rolls had more lettuce than we liked but were fresh and crisp. Pineapple fried rice was okay but could have used more cashews for the vegetarian diner. We'll stop there again and recommend that others do as well. read more

Service was fabulous but kitchen staff is slow. This is the 3rd time I have came and all 3 times Felisha took wonderful care of my group. However on this visit an old Asian lady was screaming the whole time we was eating. We will not be back horrible experience other than the great waitress. Camping in Mt Pleasant, Texas and we have not had Thai food in a while. Ordered the shrimp fresh spring rolls and Thai chicken lettuce wraps. Both were very good. The wait staff was excellent and brought us a complimentary soup. It was amazing! I asked if the chef provides recipes and she said, sadly, "no"....but the name is chicken vermicelli. Great food experience. I would give this one a shot if you are in the area. It is right off the freeway and plenty of parking. read more

I love this place!! I eat here whenever I'm in the area, at least twice in a week. The Panang curry and fried rice are great! The appetizer of choice is the shrimp rolls! Yum! If you're eating in leave time, they do not rush service, (the reason for the four stars) but it's worth the wait and the portions are ample! Love!! read more

Don't believe the positive reviews. This is the worst restaurant experience we have had in years. We waited for more than an hour for our food and it was inedible. In the case of the chicken fried rice the rice did not appear to be fried and it was difficult to find any chicken. The rad na spaghetti was swill. None of us finished our food. There was way too much of an ingredient in the food which I think might be jasmine. We can't get the aftertaste out of our mouths. I should have known when we walked in and there was nobody to greet us, no staff visible until we had been sitting for a few minutes. There was a sign saying please be patient because they are short staffed, but this went way beyond any reasonable expectation of patience. The server is working heroically to hold the place together, but whoever is cooking is incompetent. Avoid. read more

Just do it! Stop in on your commute and order yourself a killer Pad Thai. We had a party of 10 and were hesitant but with some encouragement it was well received by everyone. Last three times I have went here the service isn't very good and the owner is not friendly unless you are from Thailand or her kinda people. I was here today and about 5 people was in a group and the owner was talking super loud and she cook their food, brought free food and waited on them too while ignoring the other tables. If you own a restaurant it's in your best interest to make every customer feel appreciate not just the ones that are special to you. Excellent Thai in Mt. Pleasant! We recently found this gem on our way through Texas via Yelp and it didn't disappoint us! We each got a different lunch entre and we all very pleased and completely full! Our server was a sweet guy who told us his favorites (pad thai & yellow curry stir fry) so 2 of us got those, while 2 others got pad yellow curry and Kraw praw w/beef. They brought out a delicious soup 1st (vermicelli noodle) we all loved it. We meant to order the fresh spring rolls but forgot to say "fresh" so he brought the regular spring rolls that were hot, fresh & delicious. The service was excellent, bathrooms super clean (separate mens/womens) and we highly recommend adding this stop next time you are in Mt. Pleasant, Tx!! read more

Eat before you come. It takes very long time to get your food. After waiting over an hour for our appetizer I asked if they could at least bring that and they agreed. Twenty more minutes with no food I finally paid for the two hot teas and we left. Don't bother. read more

I have been a regular here for years, probably over a decade now. The only reason I haven't put a review on it until now is my relative inactivity online; I tend to prefer browsing to engaging. Food: Quality is amazing, the flavors are stellar, and if you want to take something out or modify it in any way (say you want fried rice, but you're allergic to eggs), the chef (which is usually Jede, the owner) can do that for you. It also helps that Jede is originally from Thailand, so she knows exactly how to authentically make the food she serves. I do have to warn you about the spice level, though. A man once ordered a level 5 heat on his curry, and Jede came to his table to make sure that's what he wanted, saying that she can't handle her own level 5 heat. He said that's what he wanted, and he was red in the face and physically sweating as he ate. From what I know (I tend to stay away from spice in general), if you're used to a level 3 at other places, that's about a 2 at Thai Lanna. My only gripe about the place is that it takes them a while (10-30 minutes, maybe longer depending on how many other customers are there and what you ordered) to get your food made and to you, but I find it worth the wait. If you're looking for a place to sit down and eat a good meal with friends, or even for a date, this is a great place for that. If you're looking for a quick bite, not so much. Recommendations: I tend to bounce between three meals; pineapple fried rice, Thai pepper steak, and cashew nut chicken. My mother likes the Lanna curry and the pad ped. Dad likes the pad prik khing and the pad khee mao. My sister likes the kapraw fried rice. Service: The wait staff, though small (it's usually one or two people, and the most likely one you'll meet is Jede's nephew, Jeff), is incredibly friendly and willing to help in any way possible. Ambiance: I'd describe the overall vibe as similar to a nice Tex-Mex restaurant, but Thai themed. It's definitely Thai-inspired, but it's not in your face about it. It's a nice restaurant, though the furniture is a bit old. The music is also Thai, which is a totally different sound from what's typical here in the States. I like it, but it's not for everyone. Overall: I'd say it's a 4.5 star restaurant. My only gripe is the long time between placing your order and receiving your meal, but, like I said, it's worth the wait. Stopped while passing through Mt Pleasant, wanted something besides a bag of burgers. It was a good choice. The Tom Yum soup, was pretty good, like most Thai restaurants, a little to much stuff in it. Also, tried the Pad Kee Mao, very tasty. I will have to try it at other Thai places in the future. Wife had Pad Thai with chicken, it was good, we both liked the bean sprouts were not cooked and nice and crispy. Like several Thai restaurants we have been to, don't come if you are in a hurry, it's a-and for us a welcomed-relaxed experience. Tom ka Gai (Chicken Coconut Soup) was good, a bit on the sweet side, I like mine a bit spicy, full of nice pieces of white chicken, chunks of lemongrass, mushrooms and spices. The Larb Gai appetizer was disappointing. Its a minced chicken served over cabbage. This one had great flavor despite being quite spicy; it however was loaded with corn meal.... I can't understand why they would add corn meal; it made the dish texture like sand. (traditionally they use some rice flower...I don't get that either but it tastes fine.... the corn meal was awful though.) Overall I liked it... just super sad about the Larb Gai.... read more

I love Thai food, and after moving to the area from a large metro was looking for a place to eat. A couple of friends suggested this place and I gave it a try. When we arrived the place was empty so we received great service from the waiter. I ordered Tom Kha soup to start, but was told "she hasn't made it yet." Normally this would have bothered me, but knowing it was because the cook hadn't made it yet- and knowing it would've been fresh and not out of a box made me more confident in the rest of the meal. We ordered garlic chicken, lo mein, and yellow curry. The spice levels were adjusted to our requests, and the food was delicious! It was fresh and hot- nothing sitting on a buffet at this place.
