Sweet Rice is a much welcomed dining option in Sulphur Springs. My party and I arrived around 6:40 pm on a Wednesday. We opted to sit outside since the weather was decent. There were at least four other tables seated (inside and out). There appeared to be only one individual manning the entire front of house (cashier, server, busser, food runner,etc.). She was handling the situation very well. She was extremely friendly, despite being quite inundated. She informed us she would be there soon to take our orders. We were finally greeted about 25-30 minutes later. An extra person working with our server would have made the experience better. But, I must say, she was great! We could see her working fervently to take care of each guest. For that reason, we stayed. There were five in my group. We ordered: Appetizers: veggie rolls and rangoons. Entrees: Yellow curry with chicken x2, beef broccoli, sesame chicken, and basil chicken. Each dish was ordered with varying spice levels. The food was hot, delivered as requested, and presented nicely. I ordered my dish with a spiciness level 3. Level 3 left a subtle spicy flavor that quickly subsided. If you aren't keen on spiciness, you might consider ordering Level 1 or 2. What was great: Friendliness of server, atmosphere, presentation What could be better: timeliness, order of delivery of food (drinks first, apps, then entrees). All in all, this is a recommend. Fantastic. Literally the best orange chicken and Tom Kha that we have ever had. We got the chicken wings and rangoons for our appetizers and they greatly exceeded our expectations. They were flavorful. The wings were crispy, and the rangoons were delicious. I got orange chicken and my wife got Tom Kha. And we were both blown away with how delicious everything was. I can't place my finger on it, but something was different about this orange chicken versus other orange chicken I have had. And it was amazing. Best orange chicken I have ever had. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys flavorful food. And the people who run this place are wonderful. Never felt like we were forgotten. Super casual place as well! Lily was so rude after I explained I did not receive my door dash sesame chicken. She kept saying the same thing over and over, that she bagged my items in 2 bags and I explained I only received 1(as seen in photo attached)! She kept arguing with zero resolution stating I could speak to a manager in the morning. So, here we are spending money for hospital workers now not getting to eat and having no way to leave for food, spending money for door dash to bring to us what we did not receive. Our first time to eat here and we absolutely loved it! We ordered steamed pot stickers, Thai Spicy Basil w/chicken and fried rice, Orange Chicken with steamed rice. The food was fresh and delicious! So so happy to have a Thai place in Sulphur Springs. For those that are driving through or stopping in for a Tesla charge, definitely another great place for food. We sat outside since the weather was beautiful. This restaurant is still in its soft opening stage and has the grand opening soon (I hear). Appetizers: We started with the Pork crunchy egg rolls and the Crab Rangoon. Lunch: Chicken pad Thai Pork Pad kee mow Chicken Pho Oh my goodness!! All of it was DELICIOUS!! Service: Our waitress was nice no concerns over all. The food didn't all come out together but we chocked it up to them still working out their new opening kinks. Very small indoor seating, waitress was on point, large patio. Pad Thai at spice level 2 was perfect for that dish. Red Curry at spice level 5 was great for me, but it was very spicy, so go with caution. read more

Sweet Rice is one of our favorite places to eat in Sulphur Springs! The food is amazing and Lily always takes great care of us! I have a severe gluten sensitivity and struggle to find safe places to eat that do not make me sick. It's so nice to have Sweet Rice as a safe and delicious dining option! Their menu lists many gluten free options and if an item isn't marked, Lily has helped show me which items can be modified to fit my dietary restrictions. Very good soup. The best part was the waitperson, who took pains to explain the spice levels as a warning. And she was right. Level 2 (of 5) was hot enough to make our noses run and eyes water a little. But the soups were delicious. I would suggest that the vegetables and meats be chopped into smaller pieces, since both chicken and pork were too tough to cut with the spoon, and the pieces of onion and tomato were too big to fit in the spoon. The location is easy to drive by, and parking is very limited, but there is a large, free parking lot one block south on Main Street that includes Tesla charging stations. read more

Asian food was passable, but my the Cashew Chicken. contained an uninvited guest, a cooked cockroach. It was not seen until the take home portion was eaten by me, Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023.
