They didn't have a lot of restaurants open but Thai Orchid was. Decided to try them out. Walked in (only customers there) but seated at a nice table. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, after bringing our wine our server took our order. I ordered gyoza and Thai garlic chicken wings, my husband ordered chicken drunken noodles. My garlic wings were so so good!! My husband loved his drunken noodles and tried a wing of mine and loved it! The atmosphere on outside we weren't sure they were open but the inside loved loved the decor and the food was amazing!!

Our service was fast as the food came before we even realized we had ordered it. If you are searching for true Thai cuisine, that is authentic and incredibly flavorful, You must try this place. It's true and some of the other reviews have said it, the outside leaves nothing to be desired and the inside could even use a little help. However, do not drive by. We pulled up after reading reviews, and I almost didn't go in just because of the outside and what a mistake that would have been. This is a five star a rating restaurant.

We called to be sure they were open - they were, onky closed on Tuesdays. Trust the reviews - clear menu with thorough descriptions, very tasty food and substantial portions, great service, & clean bathrooms. We ordered pork & veg gyoza - the sauce was at my very basic limit of spice. I let them know that, and was then encouraged to get the Basil & ground chicken w rice, no spice - I loved it and have a container to take home to finish later. My honey got the udon - hot; he said it was perfect - he finished it. As other reviews have mentioned, it isn't fast food, and when down to 1 server, it may take a couple of minutes to catch them, but the family server was nice, and Rachel let us know that she ate here so much that they offered her a job - which says a lot. She let us know that they also have a location in Charleston. We will be back when next in the area!

It was fresh, the meat was juicy and plentiful, and had plenty of kick. Ordering a salad when you really want some curry is tough, but this was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend stopping by and grabbing something.

The atmosphere was amazing, a cozy quaint spot in a what seemed to be a great part of the city. The bar was nice and overall decor of the restaurant was eclectic without feeling overdone. Our server (I believe her name was Havvy), was pleasant as well. We started with the crab rangoons and spring rolls. The crab rangoons were a 10/10, and the spring rolls were solid as well. I'd definitely order both again. I ordered the pad kapow, which is my go-to dish I like to start with at any new Thai restaurant. The presentation of the rice was really cute and the dish itself was rich and full of flavor. My husband ordered the pineapple fried rice with beef, it was phenomenal, just as flavorful and satisfying. We ordered cocktails as well, which were made perfectly, and since it was our anniversary, we treated ourself to the coconut cake. After the first bite, I wasn't sure about the cake, but by the second bite I was SOLD. If you're looking for a laidback, non-pretentious spot to enjoy a great meal, cocktails or even just a small bite, I definitely recommend.

Pros: - Fair prices (it is considered "fancier") - Fun cocktails - Food was great - Seating was nice and spaced out (not super close to anyone) - Cons: - Food Menu was typical for Thai I'd overall recommend KAO.
